General POV.
Welcome back princesses, here is just a little recap of the events just passed. Haruhi Fujioka is a smart, witty and yet an amazingly blunt young woman. She's surpassed all the odds set against her social class and has risen up, to study alongside the elite. She gained entry into one of the most prestigious schools in Japan.
There's a catch, how will the entry of six of Japan's most eligible bachelors change Haruhi's life? Where will the twists and turns end for our hidden princess?
Kyoya POV
My inner monologue has been on a never ending tangent since the baka that I call my best friend, graced me with his presence at 5 AM in the morning. Believe it or not you would have thought that he would know by now not to wake the original Ouran Host Club demon or as I'm affectionately known as the Shadow King. But alas, the bruise I gave him by skilfully aiming and throwing my alarm clock at the baka would in fact colour nicely so, that it made me feel better at least.
School was as usual pretty uneventful, the only change to my routine was the fact there was a new scholarship student arriving today. The Ootori police couldn't find much about the student, I would have been more worried if she wasn't a commoner. "Mon ami!" the stupid blonde I dare call my best friend started screaming and running towards me.
"What do you want Tamaki?" My cold demeanour once again thankfully fails to stop him from trying to glomp me, if that failed I found a casual side step always had him face-planting the ground. I look down at the fair haired Frenchmen at my feet.
"I merely wanted to say we have a new student at Ouran! Father says this student has great potential." Those big purple eyes of his had un-shed tears in them.
"I already knew that, remember the Shadow King knows all." I casually say as I walk over his limp body, only to hear muttering about how his best friend is mean and so forth. "I'll see you at Host
Club in 10 minutes. Don't be late Tamaki."
My father had ordered me a couple of years ago to become friends with Tamaki, only to my dismay that I found that I enjoyed his company more than I'd care to admit. It's gotten to the point that even now, if my father ordered the relationship to stop, I don't know if I could in good conscious stop our friendship.
Sure Tamaki was for lack of a better (or simply not wanting to be too harsh a word) word energetic and most certainly passionate, he was quite literally the complete opposite of myself. In our second year we created the Host Club together, enlisting the services of a few other boys ensuring that we run one of the most profitable busi- I mean clubs on campus. Tamaki was all about giving the boys another life, finding their true selves… For me it was more a business deal for the future.
As I walked into the music room I was greeted by Tamaki yelling at the twins to stop their mischief and devilish ways and to prepare for the meeting. I knew that if I looked I would be greeted by the sight of them rolling their eyes, they were only interested in the little world they had created for themselves. A world without judgement or consequences…
"Enough. Karou, Hikaru and Tamaki sit down in positions to greet the guests. The meeting will take place after club, the girls haven't seen us in a few weeks so I imagine they'll be crazy. However since they know we have a meeting on they won't be showing for another 15 minutes. Please go get yourselves ready." everyone stopped when I addressed them. After all, they don't call me the shadow king for nothing.
Once all the boys were groomed and positioned, we all turned to stare at the door. It was surprising someone had opened the doors so quickly and without our permission. A young girl with long brown hair and commoner clothes walked in. "Welcome to the Host Club my princess" Tamaki immediately jumped into his more often than not exaggerated princely role. Her eyes were wide and a little shocked. This must be the scholarship student Tamaki wanted to discuss earlier.
"It's just a boy. Damn" the twins groaned simultaneously. How they thought she was a boy I'll never know, I quickly get out my little black book and write down each of their names, it'll be interesting to know who figures it out first, although I have my money on Hunny-senpai.
"Uhhh wrong room!" the young girl tries to quickly worm her way back out of the room, however Tamaki quickly caught up and started harassing her. I heard him saying things along the lines of how we could begin serving to men's desires here too. Surely he must know this is the scholarship student his father was talking about right?
"You must be Haruhi Fujioka I assume?" I seductively whisper the words.
Her eyes widen again, "Yes… How do you know my name?" It's barely audible however the devil twins have blocked the door off by this point. She looked all around her for some other exit point.
"Please the Shadow King-"
"Knows all!" the twins ramble off.
"Shadow king?" she looks at me and I only push my glasses up to create my famous glare and smirk.
"Indeed! This is the host club! We host girls in the school with tea and gentlemanly company. However a commoner such as yourself might not know about such things, but we will forgive that this time!" his smile was much too wide.
"You see commoner, in this club I am the princely type, Kyoya is the cool type, the twins are devils, Hunny-senpai is loli-shota type and Mori-senpai is the wild type." I needed to remind him that the twins are not to be called devils in front of guests… again.
"You all have types?" Even I could hear the undisguised disgust in her voice.
"Yes Haruhi, each girl is assigned a host to fit her needs at that moment in time." I reply.
"And the girls go for that?" Her face had the slightest twist to it.
"Very much so Haruhi." I turn away from her and start heading towards my infamous table.
"Well I'd say it was nice to meet you, but I'm a little put off by this. I'm going to go find a place to study," she turns to leave when all of a sudden she slips as if her shoes suddenly lost their grip and begins to trip right towards the antique vase. That may I mention was very articulacy placed in the middle of the room.
Before anyone has time to blink, process what has happened or to allow her fingers have the chance to grip the vase before it fell off its pedestal there was a crash followed by the sound of shattering porcelain.
Well, this just got very interesting….
"No…." Her voice was barely audible, but the sound of her heart breaking thundered through the room.
Haruhi POV
The sound of shattering porcelain sounded clearly, reverberating through the room and seemed to be on a continuous loop in my head. How could I have possibly tripped over my own feet?
"That, was an 8 million yen antique vase you just smashed…" Kyoya calmly stated.
"Why on earth, do you have a vase that stupidly expensive sitting right in the middle of the room?" I could hear my voice starting to go up an octave as the stress began to take hold.
"Well its simple really, those from our social standing are used to being near artefacts such as these. If by chance, we did break them we can afford to pay for them straight away." His voice laced with superiority, although it angered me to no end, it was clear that he was right. These stupid rich bastards could buy my house literally, several times over and not feel any financial strain or a burning hole in their pockets.
"So Haruhi, how do you propose on repaying us for that vase?" That smirk reappeared almost tenfold, and the glare on his glasses hid his emotions from me and from everybody else, that is if he had any emotions to begin with.
"He will be the host dog!" Tamaki piped up and I could honestly feel the dread filling every crevice of my body. Not only that, I could sense my scholarship disappearing between my fingers.
"Fine. I'll repay everything I owe." My father always did say I was too stubborn for my own good, but I will not be indebted to these morons forever, right? I started doing the math calculations within my head… How many thousands go into a million again?
Everything went by quickly at that point, those devilish twins immediately rounded me up and started to trim my hair into a more "stylish" up-do and started to drag me towards the change rooms. All whilst complaining about my commoner status, much to my disgust.
However the young senior sitting at the table caught my attention, he was eating an obscene amount of cake and had a cute little bunny next to him.
"Hi Haru-chan. I'm Hunny! This is Usa-chan isn't he the cutest!?" His smile was infectious.
I could not help but let the blush cross my cheeks, when I started to think of the bear I left on my bed. I started to mutter about how I don't really like bunnies, until I took a good look at him. "He's adorable Hunny-senpai."
The twins' arms looped under my own as they began to redirect me or rather drag me to the change rooms.
Observations of Kyoya.
I watched the exchange between the 3rd year senior and Haruhi, his eyes minutely widened when he spoke to her. It seems Hunny-senpai has figured out the little secret. Good to know, I scribbled the result down in my trust black book.
Observation ends
The twins handed me the boys' version of our uniform and started to reach for my jumper. "Excuse me! I need you to leave so I can change." I swatted away their hands and pushed them out of the changing room. Almost as if I said something horribly embarrassing, they left the room with beet red faces.
Kyoya Observation
I looked up to see the twins who were being forcefully pushed out of the changing room; their faces were redder than a tomato. I looked up from my laptop eyeing them suspiciously. "Was there a problem with the uniform?"
They turned to stare at each other, for once they were both speechless. "Uh no… Not at all." They ran away from the change-room, as if the devil himself was hot on their heels.
Observation ends
Once the boys left I was finally able to finish changing, I wonder what their problem was… I admired the uniform in the mirror; the blue was a flattering colour. Much better than the girls' uniform, that was certain.
The twins seemed to have gotten over whatever seemed to of been bothering them when I got out of the change room in my new blazer and pants. Although I could have sworn the girls, uniform was an ugly yellow dress…
My brain was running around in circles with millions worth of questions, none of which never seemed to have an answer logical or not. Tamaki true to his word had me working like a dog for the club. It seemed I was continuously running around cleaning up after the boys or getting tea or either them or the guests.
"Do you like our new toy girls?"
"He's going to be mighty fun to play with!" Hikaru and Karou began their routine with the girls.
"But Hikaru does that mean you won't play with me?" He looked genuinely sad. Right until Hikaru started to run his fingers under the younger twins' jaws and leaned into his face, lips almost touching.
"No dear brother. I will never stop playing with you… You're everything to me." The twins were getting closer.
"Oh Hikaru..." Karou whispered.
I made a small nose of disgust and walked off to continue serving guests.
Tamaki came out of nowhere, wrapped his arms around me, and started swinging me in circles exclaiming how happy he was to have a new puppy. I started to feel nauseous with the amount of twirling I was doing, I don't know why I did it but I screamed out Mori-senpai's name.
His two strong hands came around my waist, pulling me effectively from Tamaki's arms. He set me down on my feet next to him. I looked up into the grey eyes of Mori-senpai and blushed as I thanked him. He in turn blushed and walked back to Hunny without even a grunt. This new turn of events meant, Tamaki had resulted in running to a corner moping about how his friends do not love him anymore.
Kyoya Observation
I furiously scribbled into my book as I watched the exchange between the wild host and Haruhi; it surprised me that she screamed out for him since they have not even talked. I watched the small amount of colour appear on his cheeks, the stoic man before us had obviously just figured out that Haruhi was in fact a girl… Interesting development.
Observation ends
The rest of the club went very much the same with the twins causing chaos, Tamaki falling for the prank and the girls swooning over each boy. I sighed in complete relief; the club had finally finished and I slowly made my way back into the change rooms to change into my comfortable, genderless clothes.
I could hear noise outside the room; I chuckled at the thought of the boys running around. It was more likely that they were having some sort of impromptu meeting. Some of the girls from today hadn't fawned, over the boys as much as I thought they would have. It was a soothing sight to see.
I felt the breeze on my nearly naked back before I heard the squeal of Tamaki and followed shortly by myself. The baka had come into my changing room unannounced to bring me some more uniforms. Why now does he have to bring them to me…? More importantly, why the hell did he not knock?
He turned on his heel and ran into the other room where I could only hear the words. "HE'S A GIRL?!"
It was in this moment, I could almost feel my body deflate. If someone was to look down on my life from above, asking "is this when you realised life wasn't simple?" I would simply have to respond… Yes, yes… This is the moment.
