Happy new year. Got my first update of the year right here.

To JapanRules555: Jaden's costume looks exactly like the card "Neos Alius" which is obviously where his current super hero alias comes from as well. Neos Alius is basically a younger looking version of Neos, albeit with a few diferent markings on his body. "Alius" is latin for "Another" which makes him "Another Neos." I decided from the start that Jaden's hero identity would be based off of Neos, and when I made Neos a separate character, Neos Alius was a no brainer choice for his super hero identity.

To Marc Ello: Thank you for the compliments. As for your question, since this is a super hero story, yes I will have some of the other HERO monsters appear. Some will be in the Justice League like Neos, while some might have different roles, and others may at least appear as cameos in some chapters like with how we saw a bunch of heroes help fight off the plants in the episode "Revelations."

Washington D.C.
July 4

Outside the Cadmus building, firefighters were containing the fire. There wasn't much by this point, flames only appearing to be remaining in a single concentrated area.

"Help!"

Get us down!"

A pair of scientists who hadn't managed to evacuate in time called out to the firefighters. The flames had blocked their escape, and they were now standing at the windows. "Stay put. We will get you out." a firefighter informed them with a megaphone. Unfortunately, it was at that moment that an explosion went off, knocking the two scientists out of the window, and they began to plummet to what was almost certain death.

But as luck would have it, a blur sped past the firefighters, and ran up the building's wall. Kid Flash grabbed the two scientists and continued up, tossing them on to the roof before briefly losing his footing and almost falling, but managed to get a hold of the window.

"Its whats-his-name... Flash Boy!" one of the firefighters declared.

"Kid Flash!" he corrected them. "Why is that so hard?"

At a distance away, Robin, Neos Alius, and Aqualad had also arrived. "So smooth." Robin commented sarcastically at their friend.

"Does he always have to run ahead?" Aqualad wondered aloud. "We need a plan. We need... Robin?" He saw that Robin was no longer with them, and the two heard the boy wonder's signature laughter. Looking over to the Cadmus building, they saw Robin leap onto the top of a fire engine, and use his grappling hook to swing up to the window and help Kid Flash in before the two went in further.

"C'mon Aqualad, or they're gonna have all the fun!" Neos Alius said as he ran over to the building, and with and with little effort, leaped up and into the window, and went to join his friends.

Aqualad ran over to the two firefighters that were controlling the hose and drew his water-bearers. "I need to borrow that." he informed them, and used his weapons to gather and manipulate the water from the hose, and created a platform for him to rise up to the roof. "Step aboard. Now." he instructed the two scientists, who both wasted no time in doing what they were told. He then made the pillar begin to descend, with him jumping into the open window as it passed it, and lowering the scientists to the ground. Once done, he went in to join his friends. "Appreciate the help."

"You handled it." Robin said casually as he checked the computers while Kid Flash looked through the file cabinets, and Neos Alius checked around the office for any objects of interest. "Besides, we're here to investigate. Poetic justice, remember?"

"So what are we supposed to be looking for, anyway?" Neos Alius asked. Compared to the others, Jaden didn't have as much of an idea of what to look for, which is why he let the others check the more likely stuff.

"Dunno. We'll just have to check out everything we can." Kid Flash replied.

Seeing that the others had things handled here, Aqualad began to walk further into the facility. As he came to an intersection, he heard a sound, and turned to see the doors of an elevator closing, and someone was standing inside of it. Or more accurately, something, as it didn't look human. This sounds of the elevator had also drawn the attention of the others, and his three friends quickly came to join him. "There was something in the..."

"Elevators should be locked down." Kid Flash commented.

They quickly headed towards the elevator, and Robin pressed the button. As he examined it, he quickly noticed something was out of the ordinary here. "This is wrong." he said before holding up his arm and activating the holographic interface of the computers built into his gloves. "Thought so." he commented as information appeared on it. "This is a high-speed express elevator. It doesn't belong in a two story building."

"Neither does what I saw." Aqualad said as he started to move towards the elevator, but Neos Alius held out his hand to stop him.

"Let me handle this." Neos Alius said. "After all, I've gotta make myself useful somehow." he said as he walked over to the elevator door, and effortlessly opened it. He then looked into the elevator shaft, and was surprised by how deep it clearly was. "Woah!"

"And thats why they need an express elevator." Robin said. He then aimed his grappling gun up and fired it at the ceiling. Hanging into the shaft, he pressed a button and lowered himself down. Aqualad and Kid Flash then grabbed on a slid down as Neos Alius used his powers to slow his descent and hover down. After a while of descending, Robin had run out of rope to lower any further. "I'm at the end of my rope." he commented before swing over to the elevator door, and was then joined by the others.

"Well then, I guess this must be our floor." Neos Alius joked.

Robin immediately went to work in hacking the elevator system. "Bypassing security... There! Go!" he ordered, and Neos Alius quickly opened the door.

"26th basment; men's clothing, shoes, household appliances, and secret underground reseach labs." he joked as he opened the door.

"Welcome to Project Cadmus." The four then looked around the immediate area, seeing nothing too strange yet, so Kid Flash took off running to look around.

"Wait!" Aqualad called out but to no use.

Just as the speedster was coming to an intersection, he heard loud noises that sounded like footsteps and began sliding to a stop. As he came to the intersection itself, he was met with quite a shock as he saw gargantuan creatures marching down the corridor. He was so surprised by the sight of the creatures, that he slipped and fell to the ground in their path. One of the almost stepped on him, but he managed to avoid the giant's foot in time, and got out of their path. Shortly after, Kid Flash was joined by his friends, and they watched in awe as the behemoths marched down the hall.

"No. Nothing odd going on here." Aqualad said sarcastically.

However, unknown to them, one of the giant creatures had a much smalled one riding atop it, and it looked right at them. A pair of horns on its head then began to glow red.

Elsewhere in the facility, a lone scientist named Mark Desmond was working with a chemical formula. He put a single drop of a red liquid into a vial with a clear liquid with a crystal in it, and the crystal dissolved into the liquid, which turned a glowing blue. As he was looking pleases at the results, there was a sound that alerted him to someone else entering the lab.

"Dr. Desmond." a man dressed in blue and black with a gold helmet said as he entered, with a creature perched a top his shoulder.

"Tell me Guardian, what part of 'no interruptions' did you not understand?" Dr. Desmond said as he put the vial of liquid into a storage compartment labeled 'Project Blockbuster.' "If you're here to tell me what caused the street level fire, it can wait."

"Fire department is still cleaning up." Guardian informed him. "I'll begin my investigation when they leave."

"Then what?" Desmond demanded impatiently.

"A G-Gnome on sub-level 26 reports four intruders."

Desmond let out a sigh of frustration. "Did I miss a perimeter breach alert?" he questioned irately. He was clearly not pleased about what he was hearing.

"No."

"Then the G-Gnome is confused. Whatever might occur in our full lab above ground, the real Cadmus is the most secure facility in D.C."

"My job to keep it that way."

"Fine, take squad." Desmond relented.

A humanoid creature with horns then stepped into the room. "Might I recommend Guardian leave his G-Gnome behind." it said. "If violence should occur,"

"The little guy would be in my way." Guardian finished.

"No!" Desmond staunchly refused. "The advantage of instant telepathic communication outweighs other concerns." he said as he stroked a G-gnome on his desk. The G-Gnome's horns then began to glow, and the the horns of the G-Gnome on Guardian's shoulder also began to glow.

"I need my G-Gnome with all times." he stated, his tone almost void of emotion. And with that, he left, and Desmond returned to his work.

Elsewhere in the facility, the four young heroes opened a door, and inside they saw a large amount of glass cylinders with large insectoid creatures generating electricity.

"Okay, I'm officially whelmed." Robin commented.

"This is how they hide this massive underground facility from the world." Kid Flash said. "The real Cadmus isn't on the grid! It generates its own power with these... things. Must be what their bred for."

"Of course. Even the name is a clue. The Cadmus of myth created a new race by sowing dragon's teeth into the earth." Aqualad said.

"And this Cadmus creates new life two." Robin said.

"But why?" Neos Alius wondered. "I mean, from these guys and those huge ones, I really don't think they're doing all this just for nothing."

"Well, lets find out why." Robin said as he plugged his glove's computer into one of the terminal. He then began to browse through the files. "They call them Genomorphs." he explained. "Woah, look at the stats on these things! Super strength, telepathy, razor claws... These are living weapons!"

"They're engineering an army." Kid Flash stated. "But for who?"

"Wait, theres something else." Robin said as he saw a file. "Project Kr. Ugh, the file is triple encrypted. I can't-"

"Don't move!" a new voice ordered. The four then turned to see Guardian and several Genomorph creatures enter the area. "Wait. Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Neos Alius?" he said, clearly recognizing them, and confused by their presence.

"At least he got your name right." Robin joked, still working on getting information from the terminal.

"I know you. Guardian. A hero." Aqualad stated.

"I do my best." Guardian said.

"Then what are you doing here?" Kid Flash questioned.

"I think thats my question, boys." the man replied. "I'm chief of security. You're trespassing. But we can call the Justice League. Figure this out."

"And do you think the League is gonna approve of you breeding be okay with all these weapons you guys have been making?" Neos Alius questioned.

"Weapons? What are you...? What have I...?" he let out as realization started to set in, but as it did, the horns on the G-Gnome on his shoulder began to glow, repressing such thoughts with its telepathic powers. "Ugh, my head... Take them down hard! No mercy!" he the ordered his other Genomorphs, and they charged forward.

Seeing this, Robin dropped a smoke bomb, and used the smoke as cover to fire his grappling gun at a support beam and swing over their attackers, and go further inside. Inside the cloud, Kid Flash dodged around several of them and counter attacked them, while Aqualad and Neos Alius grappled with a few others. Neos Alius dodged a pair, and sent them flying with his punches, and Aqualad pulled one off of his back before he was rammed by Guardian while the atlantean was distracted. Aqualad went sliding back, and hit a metal panel and left a dent before he got back to his feet and engaged Guardian in close combat. As the atlantean's opponent started to gain the upper hand, Neos Alius grabbed Guardian from behind and threw the man away a fair distance.

The three of them then ran to join up with Robin, who they found currently busy working on hacking a terminal. "Way to be a team player, Rob!" Kid Flash said as he ran up to his friend.

"Weren't you guys right behind me?" the boy wonder asked. Finishing his work, the elevator door opened for them, and the four quickly filed in and the door closed, just as the Genomorphs following them were about to pounce on them. As they stood in the elevator, they saw the numbers count up the sub-levels as it went further down into the facility.

"We're going down?" Aqualad questioned with surprise.

"Dude, out is up!" Kid Flash said as he pointed upwards with his finger for emphasis.

"How are we going to get out if we go further in?" Neos Alius asked.

"Excuse me. Project Kr? Its down, on sub-level 52." Robin explained.

"This is out of control." Aqualad said. "Perhaps... Perhaps we should contact the League."

It was at that moment that the elevator had reached the 52nd sub-level, and the doors opened. Outside, they were met with surprise. Instead of looking like the rest of the facility that they had seen thus far, it was completely different. Instead of metal, the walls were made of some kind of red, organic material.

"Well, I guess we are already here." Neos Alius said, and with that, he, Robin, and Kid Flash continued farther in. Aqualad let out a sigh as he reluctantly followed behind.

The group eventually came to a fork in the path, going two different way. "Which way?"

"Yeah. Bizarre looking hallway one, or bizarre looking hallway two." Robin said.

"Halt!" a new voice ordered, and down one of the paths, they saw a new Genomorph standing in the middle. Its horns then glowed, and two metallic cylinders floated up, and went flying at the young heroes. They dodged them, and they objects exploded when they hit the wall. Robin then threw one of his shuriken batarangs at the Genomorph, but it used its telekinesis to halt it, and then levitated ip some more cylinders. Their decision made for them, they began to run down the other hallway.

As they ran, the elevator door opened again, and Guardian and his Genomorphs stepped out. "They are heading for Project Kr!"" the Genomorph informed them, and they wasted no time in pursuing the young heroes.

Further down the hallway, a female scientist was exiting the room labeled 'Project Kr' while looking over a clipboard. Just as she looked up, Kid Flash came around the corner at high speed, and accidentally barreled into her. The two were knocked to the ground. As Kid Flash got up, he saw the doors to Project Kr closing. Wasting no time, he quickly grabbed a nearby object to hold the door open for his friends. "Hurry!" he called out to them before going in. Robin, Neos Alius, and Aqualad followed in shortly after, and Aqualad kicked the object holding the door open for them out as he saw Guardian and the Genomorphs catching up.

As the atlantean did that, Robin was already hacking the system from a nearby terminal. "I disabled the door. We're safe." he informed the others.

"We're trapped." Aqualad corrected. While no one else could get in, they couldn't exactly get out either.

"Uh, guys." Kid Flash said, currently staring at something in the center. "You'll want to see this." He then pressed a button to turn on the room's lights.

The four young heroes stared in shock and awe at what they saw. "Woah." Robin let out.

"Is that what I think it is...?" Neos Alius questioned.

What the four saw was a containment chamber, and inside it was a sleeping teenage boy in a white suit with the familiar design of a shield with an 'S' in it.

Kid Flash walked over to the chamber, and examined it, looking at the label. "Big K, little R. The atomic symbol for Krypton!" he said. "Clone?"

"Robin, hack." Aqualad ordered with urgency.

"Oh, right, right." Robin said as he hooked up his gloves computer to the terminal. "Weapon designation Superboy. A clone force grown in... Sixteen weeks! From DNA acquired from Superman!"

"Stolen from Superman." Aqualad added.

"No way the big guy knows about this." Kid Flash said.

"Probably not. After all, I doubt they went up to him and asked nicely for his permission." Neos Alius joked weakly, trying to lighten the mood.

"Solar suit allows him to absorb yellow sun radiation 24-7!" Robin explained.

"And these... creatures?" Aqualad asked as he pointed out the three Genomorphs in containers above the sleeping clone.

"Genomorph Gnomes. Telepathic. Force-feeding him an education."

"And we can guess what else." Kid Flash said. "They're making a slave out of Superman's... well, son."

"This thing just keeps getting crazier." Neos Alius said. "I mean making those other creatures was bad enough, but this?"

"Now we contact the League." Aqualad said, and all of them went to activate their communicators, and all getting the same problem.

"No signal." Robin said.

"We're in too deep. Literally." Kid Flash said.

"Now what are we gonna do?" Neos Alius questioned worriedly.

Outside, Guardian was waiting as the Cadmus scientist that Kid Flash had bumped in, whose name was Dr. Amanda Spence, attempted to get the door open, but to no use. "They're still in there? With the weapon?" Desmond demanded agrily as he ran over to them.

"We can't get the door open." Guardian explained.

"Use your telekinesis!" Desmond ordered the humanoid Genomorph that had attacked the four young heroes, who was know as Dubbilex.

"I have tried. To no avail." Dubbilex replied.

"Useless! This is a debacle!" the irate Desmond complained. "Get some G-Trolls down here to muscle the door open. Now!"

"Already on their way." Guardian informed him.

"You realize once we get in there we can't ever let them leave."

"Doc, these aren't your typical 'meddling kids.' You don't want to get on the wrong side of the Justice League."

"Better than getting on the wrong side of the Cadmus board of directors, believe me." Desmond told him then looked at the G-Gnome on Guardian's shoulder. "Contact the G-Gnomes inside Kr." he ordered, and the creatures horns glowed as it used its telepathic powers.

"This is wrong." Kid Flash said after looking towards the sleeping clone once more.

"We can't leave him like this." Robin said.

"Yeah, I agree." Neos Alius said. "Just because they made him, doesn't mean they can use him as a just a weapon."

Aqualad gave it a moments thought, but only a moment, as there wasn't any other choice in his mind. "Set him free. Do it." he told Robin.

And with that, the boy wonder pressed a few keys on his holographic interface, and the container holding the sleeping teen opened. After a moment, the boy's hand twitched, and his eyes shot open in an instant. Then without warning, the kryptonian clone charged at Aqualad with great speed. The two continued on a distance away from the others, and while he had the atlantean teen pinned to the ground, he proceeded to punch him several times in the face.

Without hesitation, Aqualad's friend ran to his aid, and the three tried to hold back the arms of his attacker.

"Woah! Hang on Super-"

"We're on your side!"

"Just wait a moment and let us explain!"

The other three young heroes attempted to reason with Superboy, but to no avail. Kid Flash was easily shaken off, and was sent flying through a nearby glass cylinder by a punch from the clone teen. He was already unconscious as he hit the ground. Seeing his friend hurt like that, Neos Alius ripped him off of Aqualad with his own super strength, and sent him flying with a punch of his own.

"I don't want to fight, but I am NOT gonna just let you hurt my friend!" Neos Alius declared.

"Hate to do this, but you're not exactly giving us much choice." Robin said as he pulled out a taser from his utility belt and fired it at Superboy as he got back to his feet. However, it appeared to have no effect, and the Kryptonian clone used the cables to pull the boy wonder to him with a single tug, and slammed him into the ground. As Robin was about to get up, Superboy planted his foot on the thirteen year old's chest and held him down.

"Enough!" Aqualad yelled as he and Neos Alius charged at Superboy together.

"I said I won't let you hurt my friend!" Neos Alias reiterated. Aqualad used his waterbearers to form a hammer, and used it to strike Superboy at the same time as Neos Alius punched him. The combined attack sent the Kryptonian clone flying, and right through the metal bed he had been lying in. Aqualad started to help Robin up, but the boy wonder fell back down as he lost consciousness.

Superboy began to march at the two remaining heroes. "We are trying to help you!" Aqualad said, trying once more to reason with Superboy. But the Kryptonian clone continued to ignore them, and charged at them and attempted to punch the first one in his path. Aqualad got out of the way, but Neos Alius held his ground and caught his attacker's fist. He held it back, but found difficulty; Superboy's strength was superior to his own. Not wasting the chance, Neos Alius punched him in the gut, and leaped back. He then held his arms out in front of him and cupped his palms. A white sphere of energy began to form in his palms and he fired the energy blast at the Kryptonian as he recovered and charged at him. As he momentarily staggered from the blast, Aqualad grabbed him from behind, and began to shock him with electricity from his eel tattoos. Though he felt pain from the shocks, Superboy used this opportunity, and jumped up and slammed Aqulad into the ceiling as he still clung to his back. As he landed, the atlantean was hurt, and the Kryptonian repeated the action and leaped up again before Neos Alius could come to his friend's aid. As he hit the ceiling this time, Aqualad was now knocked unconscious, and let go and fell off the clone teen's back.

As Superboy turned around, a fist connected with his face, and he was sent flying again. Neos Alius followed up and used his leg strength to propel himself forward with a leap, and with a mighty kick, sent Superboy into the ground. As he was about to get up, Neos Alius landed on him, and planted his foot on his chest to attempt to hold him down. "What is your deal?" Neos Alius demanded. "We were just trying to help you, and then you attack us for no reason!"

Ignoring the last heroes words, he grabbed the leg of the foot on his chest, and pulled it off, and Neos Alius lost his balance and fell to the ground. Quickly getting to his feet and grabbed Neos Alius's head and slammed it into the ground face first as hard as he could, and everything went dark for the remaining boy as he was knocked unconscious on impact.

With the four young heroes defeated, Superboy walked over to the door, and with his super strength, pierced right through the steel and ripped it open in an instant. Pleased to see this, Desmond walked into the room, and was even more pleased as he saw the four unconscious heroes on the ground. "'Atta boy." he praised his weapon.

And there we go, second chapter done. Thought about doing more, but I wanted to get this up today. Mostly the same still, but I used the fight with Superboy to show off more of what Jaden/Neos Alius can do. Super strength is his basic power, plus hes got a limited control over special energy to use for limited levitation(not flight), and fire those energy blasts. His abilities will be explained more in future chapters. Next chapter should finish things up for the whole Cadmus thing, and I hope to have it up soon. Anyway, in the meantime, please review.
