A/N: More future head canons from me.

All mistakes are mine. Hope you enjoy it.

He was late. Again.

Ran sighed as she leaned against the wall. The room was full of college students. Drunk college students. It really wasn't her scene but one of her college friends, Akiko, had invited her and she couldn't refuse. After all, she had rejected her invitations many times already.

To be honest, she hadn't clicked with anyone yet. Not like she had with Sonoko or Sera-chan or Kazuha-chan. She liked the college experience. She liked gaining knowledge. She especially liked history. But she hadn't been able to make a whole lot of friends. It didn't bother her that much though, to be honest. She liked that she had a small group of friends she really liked and could always rely upon.

But Shinichi, that nut, was always pushing her to make some new friends.

She knew that being Conan had changed him a lot. He was a little reserved, much less prone to boasting and a whole lot of overprotective over her. He still got many cases; in fact, it was a case that was the reason behind why he was late now. He was more introspective, more understanding and bolder when it came to their relationship.

Well, she had grown bolder too. It was weird how much they both had changed after going through the Conan phase together. They both used to blush even at the mention of the fact that Shinichi had confessed to her, but now, they felt comfortable enough in their relationship that they practically lived together at his flat.

She looked around the room for Akiko. She was tired and wanted to go home. These parties didn't appeal to her and the person she wanted to see the most wasn't even there. She took a sip of the juice she had in her hand, intending to finish it on her way to the trash bin when someone tapped on her shoulder.

She knew it wasn't Shinichi. She would have felt him the moment he entered the room, so she suck in a breath, turned up her lips into a polite smile and whirled to address the person that had stopped her from getting out of the hellhol- party, "Yes?"

And to her dismay, it was one of the guys she knew and didn't like, mostly because he wouldn't stop coming after her. So it went without saying that Shinichi didn't like him either. She always prided on the knowledge that patience was one of her greatest virtues, particularly when the benefits she got from that virtue were in the form of a twenty year old handsome-jerk-detective who was always late, but this guy got on her nerves. The constant sly glances and flirtatious sentences only annoyed her rather than enamor her.

She swallowed down her irritation and said, "Kurosawa-kun, what can I do for you?"

The moment he opened his mouth, Ran knew he was absolutely hammered. Not to mention the way he clutched on her right bicep after swaying dangerously and the cup of alcohol in his other hand. "Raaan-chaaaan." Ugh, his voice reminded her of Oto-san when he was drunk.

"Kurosawa-kun, I see you're enjoying the party," she said and discreetly tried to shift away from him in order to get his hand away from her arm.

"Yesss, yesss, this is fuuuun, innit?" he slurred and tried to grab her again.

Ran shifted again, not wanting the situation to escalate. He was just drunk and she knew personally from her father how drunken men could behave with women, especially women they liked. She was a karate expert, she could easily break his bones if she wanted to but he hadn't done anything that would require using violence. Kurosawa-kun being a pain wasn't a good enough reason to deck him. Even though she really wanted to.

Someone walked behind Kurosawa-kun and he bumped into Ran, dropping the alcohol on her shirt. She gasped and stepped away as the alcohol dripped down from her shirt. Kurosawa-kun stared at her, horrified at what he had done. There was silence between them for a couple of seconds and then Kurosawa-kun's face constricted as if he was going to vomit. And by that time, Ran knew it was time to leave. Having cheap beer on her shirt was one thing, having someone's vomit was another.

She deftly walked away from him, muttering an apology and opened the door of the room to finally get out of that cramped space. She breathed in the night air, thankful that it was a little chilly. She grimaced as she looked down at her shirt.

This wasn't turning into a good night.

She sighed and supported herself on the pillar of the hall. She would have to walk or call for a cab to reach home. Shinichi was probably busy with Megure keibu. To his credit, he had texted her when the case was over but that was half an hour ago. She was sticky and disappointed and this wasn't how she had planned to spend the night.

The party was a farewell for the senior class and since both Shinichi and Ran attended the same college, though different cases and Ran had a suspicion that Shinichi didn't need classes, he could have just gone back to being a private detective, they were invited by Akiko. And as was their luck, as they were going out of their flat, Shinichi's cell phone rang.

Next thing she knows, she's part angry, part sad and part disappointed and leaning across a wall in a room filled with loud music, rowdy drunk college students, being all sulky. She should have enjoyed herself in that room rather than getting lost in her thoughts.

Oh well, now she couldn't go back, could she? Not in the state she was in. It would be better to just go home, take a nice bath, relax and shout at Shinichi when he came back. With that plan in her mind, she walked down the stairs and just as she was about to exit the campus, she heard someone scream her name.

No not someone. It was Shinichi. Running towards her.

Shinichi. Shinichi. Shinichi!

It was weird how he could make her happy and angry at the same time. For a split second, she was ecstatic to hear his voice but now, she felt like punching the daylights out of him.

Shinichi skidded at a halt in front of her, sweat rolling down his face. He gasped for air to get his bearings; after all he had just sprinted from the station to reach the venue of the party. At least, luck was on his side, he was sure that Ran would have gone home, particularly because she wasn't fond of anyone who was invited at the party.

A string of apologies were on his lips when Ran spoke, "We are going home. Now."

He just nodded his head, not wanting her to get angry more than she already was. They walked in silence for a few seconds, when the smell of beer hit his nose. There was nobody on the road besides them. It was past midnight after all. Ran wasn't drunk though. She was walking perfectly fine and her words hadn't slurred when she spoke. He turned to look at her, just in case, and found the culprit.

Ran's shirt was wet. With beer. But the important part was that her shirt was wet. And it clung to her. Like really clung on her. Meaning he could see the outline of her bra. Now, he was an adult, and their relationship had advanced well enough to the point where they even had sex. He had seen Ran naked on multiple occasions, they lived together for God's sake but that didn't stop him from gawking at her like it was the first time he had seen a girl's bra.

Ran felt his gaze on her and looked up at him to ask what was wrong and a quick assessment of her situation and the blush on his cheeks quickly alerted her what the problem was. He could be such a pervert.

"Hey, Shinichi, my eyes are up here, you know?" she joked.

And the way his eyes widened and quickly went up from her chest to her eyes and his face turned red was too comical. She laughed at him and he turned his head away from her in embarrassment. Ran patted his head mockingly and he huffed. Whatever, she was his girlfriend. He could look at her if he wanted to.

Just like the that, any tension between them was gone and Ran was happily chatting away about how boring the party was and Shinichi told her about the case. They bantered back and forth until they reached their flat.

Shinichi closed the door behind them as they entered and was still in the process of telling Ran how wonderfully he had trapped the culprit into confessing her crime when he stopped short. She had taken her shirt off. Her shirt was off. She was just in a bra. A bra. And she was walking into their bedroom.

It sucked that his very fully capable brain turned into mush whenever he saw Ran in any state of undress. Or dress. Whatever. The point was that it was very, very, very annoying at first that Ran could render him useless for a few seconds and he would have to specifically focus on the task he was working on when at all other times.

But then he found out that he had that power on her too and all was perfectly fine in his world.

"Shinichi?" she called out from their bedroom, "Have you seen my night shirt? I can't find it."

He rolled his eyes. Silly girl thought that she was going to be wearing clothes.
