Well it's been a while since I've updated this story.

I apologize for the late update I've just been busy with Ash's Reason (which you should read if you haven't)

I haven't abandoned this story; if I did I would've deleted it.

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon, I only own Wolf.

Dear sis,

How are things back home? I just finished my first day of classes here at Ranger School. It's pretty good, but something feels weird about it. I've made a few new friends today. A hothead named Keith (He's actually a redhead), a nice brunette girl named Kate (I think she has a crush on Keith), and lastly a blonde named Rythmi. Well write back soon, I'm anxious to know how boring things are without me there.

From Kellyn

Satisfied with the letter in front of him, Kellyn folded it and put it in an envelope. "Hey Kellyn," Kellyn turned towards the voice to see it belonged to Keith, "Who are you writing to, someone at home?" Kellyn opened his mouth, but Keith continued with a teasing tone, "I bet it's your girlfriend, I bet you're gushing on how much you miss her."

Kellyn rolled his eyes, "No I don't have a girlfriend, I'm writing to my sister back in Fiore." Keith's expression dropped and Kellyn sighed in exasperation "Why don't you bother your girlfriend Kate instead of me?"

Keith's cheeks turned as red as his hair, "I-I-I don't know what you're talking about."

Kellyn smiled seeing an opportunity, "You mean the 'Amazing Keith' doesn't have enough gut to confess to the girl he likes?"

Keith shook his head, his face looking like a tomato, "No, I just don't like her."

"Keep telling yourself that, you just need to be brave."

Keith scoffed, "I'm the bravest person in the school." Over Keith's shoulder Kellyn saw Wolf silently come in the door and sneak up behind Keith.

When Wolf was right behind he opened his mouth and from erupted a surprisingly convincing and terrifying roar that sounded similar to an extremely angry or hungry Hydreigon, causing Keith to jump into the air and scream like a little girl and flee underneath the covers on his dorm bed. This caused Kellyn and Wolf to laugh uncontrollably. Kellyn noticed that Wolf's laugh for some reason reminded him of an avalanche.

Keith poked his head out from underneath the covers, his cheeks were red from embarrassment, "It wasn't funny." He stated.

Wolf wiped a tear away, "Yeah you're right, it wasn't funny… It was hilarious!" Kellyn nodded in agreement, "I came in here to tell you guys that were ready, but when I heard you trying to act tough I couldn't resist."

Kellyn was struggling to breathe so he tried to calm down, "Ready for what?" He managed to say.

Wolf looked at Keith, "You didn't tell him?" he didn't wait for an answer, "Never mind just come on." The group of three left the dorm to see most of the other students waiting in the Commons Area (A.N. That's what I call the area outside the dorm rooms).

"What's going on here?" Kellyn asked.

Rythmi stepped forward, "It's time for your Test of Courage." Kellyn looked at her confused, "It's a tradition here, five school stylers have been hidden all throughout the school. What you have to do is find them all and put them in front of the door to the room in the basement." Kellyn nodded, "But to make sure you don't chicken out, you'll have another student go with you as a witness. Normally I would've had Keith go as your witness, but he was Kate's. So Ben has agreed to be your witness."

A kid about Kellyn's age stepped up. He had brown, but it was a lighter shade than Kellyn's, and it seemed to defy gravity with it seeming to naturally stick up in the air. He had brown eyes and his build has skinnier than Kellyn's, but he still seemed to have a bit of muscle on him, "Okay let's get this done." His voice had a playful sound to it so Kellyn assumed he was a bit like Keith in some ways. Kellyn followed Ben down the stairs and into the darkened school.

"So what happened in the dorm room? People thought they heard a Hydreigon, others thought they heard a little girl in there." Ben asked.

Kellyn chuckled, "Wolf snuck up behind Keith and roared and Keith got scared."

Ben laughed softly, "That sounds hilarious."

Kellyn nodded, "It was, I really wish I had a camera. I could use it as blackmail or something like that."

As Kellyn searched for the Stylers he got to know Ben, turns out they had a lot in common and even though he enjoyed a good prank, Ben wasn't as bad as Keith. About half an hour later Kellyn had gathered all the Stylers, "Okay we have them all now let's drop them off." Ben nodded and they went downstairs.

Kellyn had to cut down a few fences using some Zubats he befriended, but they were able to get to the door. "Okay I just drop them off here?" Ben nodded and as Kellyn was putting down the Stylers, 'Hauuuunt'.

Kellyn turned back to Ben, "What was that?"

Kellyn looked around, and just when Kellyn thought it was nothing, when a group of Gastly led by a Haunter and Banette materialized all around them and on instinct Kellyn said, "Capture on." And he sent out the Capture Disk.

He first went for the Gastly who would occasionally sent out clouds of noxious gas, but Kellyn would easily avoid it and captured all of the Gastly. Then his target was the Banette, who would shoot shadow balls and keep disappearing when the disk would make circles, but eventually Kellyn calmed it down.

Then Kellyn turned towards the Haunter. It seemed to be mocking him, the Haunter opened its mouth, 'you want to catch me? I'd like to see you try.' It said in a wispy, taunting voice. Kellyn ignored the comment and sent the disk after the ghost-type. The Haunter kept disappearing and reappearing out of his reach, and a few times it would hit the Capture Line and damage his Styler.

Kellyn retracted the disk and glared at the Haunter. Kellyn opened his mouth and spoke, 'You think you've won? No, you only prolonged your defeat.' The Haunter seemed to be stunned; using this opportunity Kellyn shot the disk and started wrapping it around the Haunter with amazing speeds until a bright light surrounded the Haunter, "Capture complete." Kellyn said with a smirk.

When he released the entire group of ghost Pokémon he turned to look at Ben, he looked utterly terrified, "Th-th-that was… unnatural." Kellyn opened his mouth to question him, but Ben stopped him, "You were speaking Poke-speak while you were capturing the Haunter."

Kellyn looked confused, "Is that it?"

"Is that it?!" Ben quoted incredulously, "Kellyn people are having a hard time understanding Poke-speak. You just spoke a fluent sentence of Poke-speak, and I can tell because of how that Haunter reacted."

Kellyn thought for a moment, "If anybody asks, we just ran into a small group of Gastly. What happened is our secret and nobody needs to know what happened." Ben nodded, "I think we should go-"

Kellyn was cut off by Mr. Kincaid bursting out of the door yelling, "WHO'S THERE?!" Ben and Kellyn looked nervous, "THIS PLACE IS OFF LIMITS NOW GET OUT OF HERE!"

"Shoot run." Ben whispered and they took off and ran out of the basement. Kincaid grumbled and went back into the room.

Inside there were several drawings and designs sprawled over a large work table with Isaac standing in front of a computer. When he heard Mr. Kincaid approach he turned around, "What is it Mr. Kincaid? I thought I heard voices."

Kincaid waved a hand dismissively, "It was nothing, just a Zubat causing a bit of racket outside." Isaac nodded knowing that zubat could be quite reckless, "Isaac you've worked long enough for today, why down you go and take a rest."

Isaac looked relieved, he enjoyed his work, it just tired him, "Thank you sir, I'll return to my room then?"

Kincaid nodded and the blonde genius left. When he was out the door Kincaid went to a laptop on a nearby desk, "Isaac it doing well it seems." A dark voice said.

Kincaid jumped at the voice of his leader and he turned around, "Arceus Shadow, must you do that every time we meet."

The leader known as Shadow smirked, "Come now Kincaid, I need to keep my style." His smirk faded, "What was really causing that ruckus?"

Kincaid shook his head, "Just some of the Rangers in training messing around, but don't worry I chased them off."

Shadow eyed Kincaid, "You chased them off so you opened the door and yelled at them?" Kincaid nodded and within ten seconds Shadow had grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air his eyes glowing with rage, "YOU IDIOT!" He thundered loudly causing Kincaid to pale several shades, "DO YOU REALIZE THAT THOSE 'RANGERS IN TRAINING' COULD'VE SEEN WHAT WERE WORKING ON!"

Kincaid tried to gather himself, "Sir please I assure you that they know nothing." He strained.

Shadow tightened the grip on Kincaid throat, "For your sake you better hope your right." Shadow dropped Kincaid and stepped into the shadows, his eyes glowing in the darkness, "You better not disappoint me." And with that he melted into the shadows and vanished.

And that's a wrap.

I hope you enjoyed it.

With summer coming up I'll be able to update more often so you shouldn't expect too long of a wait.

This is W. R. Winters signing off.
