AN/ God guys, I feel awful! It's been about a year and a half since I updated anything and I can't believe I left it that long! It won't happen again, I promise.

Disclaimer: none of the recognizable characters, events or locations are mine. JKR has been locked in my closet during my hiatus and she still won't give up the rights but I think she stole a phone because the police are currently at my door...

THREE MONTHS INTO TERM 1 (November)

It had been a rough few months for Hermione. In just three short months she had started a new school, made a few amazing friends (and a few arch nemesis), battled a mountain troll and found a slightly singed toilet seat on her bed for some odd reason. But for the first time in forever, the young, slightly obsessive but overall sweet, girl had felt truly at home. She was friends with The Harry Potter after all! At first she was secretly pleased that she, the resident bookworm, had managed to not only befriend, but fight beside, such a famous person. But it didn't take her long to realise that Harry was a genuinely nice guy. He didn't enjoy the attention he got from the media and a lot of his fellow class members, but preferred to be treated as just another student who was talented at Quidditch.

Ron was ok too. Not quite as charismatic or intelligent as The Boy Who Lived, but still a good guy. He always seemed to be a step behind the famous boy and more annoying as well, but once you got past the desire to be in the spotlight, he really was a great friend. Why, just the other day he had punched Seamus for saying that Hermione would have probably fit in better at Ravenclaw because she wouldn't have to tell them to shut up while she studied.

But the people who surprised her the most were the Weasley Twins. She heard about Fred and George's reputation before she even got off the train. The 'Pranksters Extraordinaire' were notorious for attacking people in ways that could never really be blamed on them, but everyone knew who put Hair Colour Changing potion in the Slytherins drinks.

Fred was especially shocking. Hermione had expected to be targeted just as much as the other first years were, but she had overheard the two older boys talking about their next prank. George wanted to flood the entire girls dormitory but Fred had insisted they only target Lavender Brown's bed (Lavender was gaining a reputation as being a tease already. In three short months she had already dated 5 guys, only 2 of whom were under second year). When George had asked why Fred wanted to turn the scale of the hoax down, his reply was a mere shrug and a quick glance over to where Hermione was sitting (said girl quickly looking back down at her book to avoid detection). Small curious glances and short conversations were not an uncommon occurrence around Fred. He didn't show emotion as much as Ron did they didn't fight nearly as much, but it was almost as if Hermione was a new plant that suddenly sprouted in the backyard. She was something new and he had no idea how she got into his yard when he didn't plant her but he wanted to see what kind of flower she bloomed into. She peaked his interest, but not enough to make any real difference. After all, there were pranks to be played and jokes to be told and banned items to smuggle, what kind of girl could compare to that kind of excitement!?

AN/ I know its a lot shorter than the first chapter but I felt really bad about updating Nothings Worth A Damn and not this. So please forgive my lateness, I will try to update again before Sunday but if not, there will be a new chapter up sometime Monday. Thankyou for your patience!
Love you all, and may the odds be ever in your favour!
