"And? Then what happened?"

Al grinned at her audience of two.

"He chipped me, of course. And he stole the Diadème du Coeur, and we skedaddled."

"Oh, you skedaddled, huh? Simple as that? Al, our cover is so blown!"

"Oh, relax," Al said. "It's not like he's going to tell anyone."

"How do you know? Did you tell him to keep his mouth shut?"

"No way! If I did that, he'd go blabbing the secret all over town. I just acted like showing up was no big deal. Never even acknowledged that I'd ever left. He won't see any reason to bring it up, and even if he does, consider the source. They'll think he's talking nonsense." Her friends didn't look convinced. "Oh, come on. He calls y'all two Bellman and the Snark. How many people do you think are going to get the reference?"

"Eddums," the Captain pointed out. Techie frowned thoughtfully.

"Maybe we should make sure the Hatter has a near death experience, just in case."

"No!" Al sprang up out of her seat. "You're not hurting my tea buddy!"

"Well, hurty or not, I don't think we should risk staying around here for the next few weeks."

Techie grinned.

"Jump City, here we come!"
