Chapter 2:
Candace had been lead into the interview room. She was now sitting across from Detective Harvey Bullock of GCPD.
"I'm refuse to speak without my attorney present." Candace said, her arms crossed and an angry look on her face.
"Lawyering up already, Miss Leopold? Doesn't make it sound like you're innocent." Bullock said.
"I'm telling you, I'm innocent! I didn't even know Rupert was dead until one of your officers came and arrested me." Candace replied.
"Don't tell me that you didn't have a motive for killing him. Didn't he fire you?" Bullock asked.
"He did." Candace replied.
"And I'm guessing you didn't take that very well?" Bullock asked.
"It's been hard being able to find a job after my firing but I have managed to get a job at Bergduff's Department Store." Candace told him.
Candance's attorney, Olivia Madison walked in. She was tall with a long blonde ponytail. She wore thick rimmed glasses and a magenta colored business suit with shoes and a briefcase matching in color.
"Not another word, Candace. I am Olivia Madison of Madison and Charleston. I'm representing Miss Leopold." Olivia said, introducing herself.
She sat down next to Candace. "Now, what are the charges?"
"First degree murder of Rupert Thorne." Bullock told her.
"And you suspect Miss Leopold did it? My client claimed she didn't even know about the crime until she was arrested at her appartment." Olivia explained.
"We have an eye witness that claims they saw a woman matching Miss Leopold's descripton leaving the crime scene." Bullock replied.
"They must be mistaken. My client was at home during the time of the crime." Olivia responded.
Candace piped up. "I was in the bath if you must know."
"So are you arresting and charging my client or can we go?" Olivia asked.
"Miss Leopold is still currently under arrest for the murder of Rupert Thorne." Bullock said.
and with that, Candace had been taken away to a cell.
To be continued.
