Sorry, it took me so long. After this, I'm going to focus on Fates.

Enjoy.

A hooded figure watched the party travel, the night begins to fall. Strapped to their back is a sword with a red-eye in its hilt. A chain tassel hanged from the handle. Their green eyes have cross slits like the sword they wield.

The figure didn't glance at another figure flickering into existence behind them. The figure wears a hood and cloak, their face covered by a black crow mask. Red eyes gazed out of the eye holes.

"Has it taken effect?" The voice sounded masculine under the mask. He stood taller than the first figure.

"Yes," The green-eyed figure spoke in a feminine voice. "Murasame needed to breathe the air again to finish the virus. The process should be complete by the time they arrive."

"Good, I'm heading back to the campsite."

"I'm not going."

"What do you mean?"

The first figure held up a book. Any damage that it suffered from the shipwreck isn't seen. No trace of water was on it, making it completely dry. She took it when she found Akame on the beach before bringing her to Southtown.

"Isn't that…"

"The Complete Book of The World: Rongo Rongo," She confirmed. "Or in this case, the multiverse. This Teigu once contained every map of the whole world. Now, it holds every map of every world in the multiverse. Complete with information about each and every one of them.."

Behind the mask, Red-eyes widened in realization. "You're going after him, aren't you."

"We finally have a lead," She turned and spoke with conviction. "With this, we can find him. If he isn't on this world, he's in another one. This can find him no matter how well he's hidden."

"I know how important this is for you, trust me," He insisted. "But we have to focus on the task at hand. Okay?"

"No, not okay," She stubbornly replied. "You stay and protect them. I want to look for him."

It was obvious that she wasn't going to be swayed. Any attempt would result in fighting, which would draw unwanted attention. So there was only one solution he could think of.

"I'm getting really sick of this," He groaned, palming his face. "Fine. But at least keep your identity a secret. It will be difficult for him to accept."

"Okay."

"I'm going back to the campsite," He vanished into thin air. "I'll send you-know-who after you. Good luck."

The figure glanced at the spot before opening Rongo Rongo and flipping to the directory. Finding the page number she was looking for, she flipped to the page with a map of Ylisse. Taking out a hair strand, she placed it on the page. Immediately, the ink bled out from the strand, forming an arrow which drew itself until it ended at an image of a gate on an island.

She had her heading.

"I'm coming father."

She dashed away, eager to get to her destination

"I told you—it's getting dark already!" Lissa complained. "Ech! And now the bugs are out! Noisy, disgusting bugs that buzz around and crawl all over and bite you when—" She began to spit out bugs that ended up in her mouth.

"Aw, come on now, Lissa," Chrom smiled. "Hardship builds character. Want to help me gather firewood?"

Lissa finished spitting out bugs. "I think I swallowed it…" She turned to her brother. "I'll pass on finding firewood, thanks. I think I've built QUITE enough character for one day!"

"We should probably think about food," Robin stated. "I don't know about you, but I'm starving."

"Yes, I should think a little hunting and gathering is in order," Frederick declared. "Now, who wants to clear a campsite?"

"Hold on," Lissa glanced around. "Where's Akame?"

Everyone looked around for the red-eyed girl they met back at Southtown. She had been so quiet that they didn't even notice that she was gone.

"Great," Frederick grumbled. "Just when I took my eye off her she's gone. We should've… where's my lance?!"

He glanced around frantically for his missing weapon. The knight even jumped off his horse and started retracing his steps. His pace was so fast he started to make a new path into the ground. It took them a while to get him to follow along, they promised him a new lance when they got back but he couldn't take it.

"Frederick, calm down…" Lissa tried and failed.

"She stole it!" Frederick was beside himself. "I knew she couldn't be trusted!"

"Frederick, you don't know that…" Lissa stopped moving with the others, but Frederick kept ranting.

"What am I going to do?! I knew I should've brought my sword and axe!"

"Uh, Frederick…" Robin tried to get his attention.

"I can't protect milord without my weapons! Her Excellency is going to be furious with me!"

"Frederick, you might want to…" Even Chrom couldn't complete a sentence.

"If you die, milord, I will personally hunt her down and-"

"FREDERICK!" all three shouted, snapping him out of his rant. They pointed ahead of him and it got Fredericks attention.

In front of him is Akame sitting, back facing them, in front of a campfire. She is using a silver lance to roast a huge bear over it. Munching on a piece of meat, she turned to the others behind her and gave them a thumbs up.

Everyone just stared at her in shock.

Frederick grumbled as he cleaned his lance of the bear blood. Night had finally fallen and the sat around the campfire that Akame made. They began eating the bear she skewered, her portion is bigger than the rest. He had taken off his armor and grabbed a rag from his horse pack to wipe away the mess. The knight kept glaring at Akame, but she just kept eating without care.

"Come on Frederick," Chrom chuckled. "It's not that bad."

"My lance is a tool, milord," Frederick retorted. "Not a cooking spit."

"But the meat isn't bad," Chrom gleefully ate his portion. "Mmm. It's been too long since I last had bear meat. Delicious!"

He turned to Lissa and noticed that he didn't touch hers. "What's wrong, Lissa? Dig in."

"Pass! Gods, couldn't you spear us an animal normal people eat for once?" Lissa complained. "I mean, come on! Who eats a bear?! You're meddling with the food chain. Right, Robin?" When she got no answer, she turned to Robin. "Uh, Robin?"

Robin is greedily munching down on his share of bear meat.

Lissa let out a sigh in resignation. "I suppose a person would enjoy just about anything after not eating for days…"

"Just eat it, Lissa. Meat is meat."

"Since when does meat smell like old boots?!" She exclaimed. "Wait, I take that back—boots smell better!"

"Every experience makes us stronger, milady," Frederick finished cleaning his lance. "Even those we don't enjoy."

"Really?" Lissa raised an eyebrow at him. "Then why don't I see YOU eating, Frederick?"

"Me? Oh, well... I'm not hungry. I...I had a large lunch! Yes, quite."

"Yeah right, Frederick!"

Suddenly, a hand reached out and whisked Fredericks portion out of his reach and gobbled it down. When Akame finished she proceeded to take Lissa's, Chrom's leftovers, and finally what Robin didn't eat. She scarfed everything down within seconds.

"Done."

Everyone's jaw dropped.

"How much food can you stomach?!" Lissa threw her hands in the air.

"Probably the entire food stores back at Ylisstol," Chrom laughed. Then he became serious. "Say, Akame, may I ask you something?"

"Yes?" Akame turned to him.

"It's about your sword," Akame didn't say anything, she just continued looking at him with her deadpan expression. "I've been told that you killed the brigands with one cut each. Is it true?"

Akame simply nodded and held out her weapon, sheathed in its red scabbard. "Yes. The One-cut Killer: Murasame. Even a single scratch can kill you and me if we aren't careful."

"I've never heard of a weapon like that," Frederick peered at the katana. "How did you acquire a weapon like that? Sorcery?"

"No. It's a Teigu forged long ago."

"Teigu?" Robin raised an eyebrow.

"Imperial arm," She explained. "A long time ago, at the country, I am from, the first emperor wanted to protect his kingdom forever. But the problem was that he won't live forever. Therefore, he ordered that weapons to be created so that they may be there while he is gone. Gathering the greatest scientists and engineers, they created forty-eight superweapons called imperial arms. Though they are commonly called Teigu."

"Forty-eight?" Robin's eyes widened. "The empire must surely be unstoppable with weapons like that."

"Not quite," Akame continued, her tone darkening as she spoke. "After a civil war, most of the Teigu is lost. Some are even destroyed in fact. But it's for the best," Her face darkened. "because the once prosperous empire is now a hell where I came from."

"O-okay," Lissa looked terrified at her face. "What happened?"

"Long story," Akame puts away Murasame. He tone told everyone at the campfire that she didn't want to talk about it.

"Hey, how about you tell us about your friend?" Lissa carefully asked. "We loved to learn more about him."

"Sure," Akame smiled. "His name is Tatsumi. He and I were part of a group who hunt monsters that no one can kill. He's the kind of guy who can give off a friendly vibe when you are around him."

"Is he your lover?"

Akame blushed and then recomposed herself. "He's a guy of many talents, he used to be a blacksmith. Unfortunately, he's only had beginners experience. But he makes up for it with his hunting and cooking skills."

Akame drooled as she said, "The food he makes is really tasty."

"What is it with you and food?" Everyone sweatdropped.

"We've fought side by side in our hunt. But one day," Akame became sad again. "He disappeared. It was the last I saw of him until this morning."

"What do you mean?"

"When I was brought into town, someone told me that someone bearing his description carried me to the inn. If I can find him, I'm one step closer to finding Tatsumi and bringing him home."

"That makes the search easier," Robin placed a finger on his chin in contemplation. "Do you know where he was headed."

"Benjy said he headed north, that's all I know."

"That will have to wait," Frederick began rolling out a sleeping mat. "We need to reach Ylisstol tomorrow. Sleep is our priority."

"I will take first watch." Before Frederick could insist that he take the first watch, Akame vanished.

"I really hate it when she does that," Frederick muttered.

"Huh?"

Chrom had a feeling and woke up. Around him are the sleeping forms of the party minus Akame. Everything looks peaceful at this time of night.

Lissa yawned, opened her eyes and glanced at Chrom. "What's wrong, Big Brother?"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you, but... " He scanned the area as if looking for a brigand hidden. "Something is amiss…"

"Define something."

"I'm not sure…" He got up. "I think I'll have a look around."

"Not alone, you won't!" Lissa got up as well. "I'm coming too."

"Heh. Thanks, Lissa."

Akame straightened her back. She sat on a tree branch that she took for her watch. The branch wasn't too far from the camp, but it was enough for her to spot the enemy before they reached the others. It wasn't even time for Fredericks watch, and yet she could sense something ominous about to happen.

She got up and leaped from branch to branch back to the campsite. When she got there, she noticed that two of her party are missing. Looking closely, she realized that Chrom and Lissa are missing.

Cursing, she took off to look for them. If they are the kind of people she thinks they are, it would really be inconvenient for her.

Chrom and Lissa walked through the forest.

"It sure is dark." Lissa put a hand to her ear as she looked around. " ...And quiet. Where did the birds go?"

Chrom fingered Falchion. "Something is wrong here…"

Suddenly, the earth began to shake around them.

"Aaah!" Lissa cried. "Chrom!"

"Gods, what— Agh! What is this madness?! Lissa, stay close!"

The earthquake felled several trees as the magnitude increased. It was headed toward them.

"Lissa, run."

"Huh?"

"I mean it! Go!"

Akame nearly fell to the ground when the quake hit. She may have been here for no less than a day, but she could tell that this is no natural earthquake.

"I've got to hurry," she muttered as she continued onward.

She had to get to Chrom and Lissa.

Lissa runs ahead of Chrom as the damage increased. The ground where they were splits, lava flooding out and burning trees. Fireballs flew at them, hitting more trees and setting them ablaze.

"Hey! This way!"

Chrom and Lissa ran and jumped into a gap just in time to avoid a fire blast behind them.

They put some distance between them and the fire before stopping to catch their breath. Lissa looks up and her eyes widened.

"Chrom!" Lissa pointed at the sky. "What IS that?!"

They gazed at the sky as it split, like an eye being opened. As it gazed at them, two figures fell emerged, dropping to the ground. Groaning, they rose and looked at them with glowing red eyes.

"Lissa," Chrom drew Falchion. "You'd better stand back."

Lissa backs away from him as he and one of them engaged. It rushes at him and starts to attack him with its axe. Chrom responds in kind and slashes him across the chest. When he heard groaning he turns around to see it recover and turn its head to face him. Once again, it rushes at him with its axe raised. Chrom got ready to cut it down for sure but suddenly it stopped.

Black marks appeared all over its body as it began to writhe in pain. Slowly, but gaining speed, it turned into a pile of goo. Akame stood over it, looking surprised at the result.

"Akame," Chrom breathed. "Thanks."

"Next time, do not stray from the camp Prince Chrom," Akame scolded him, making his eyes widen in surprise.

Suddenly, they heard Lissa scream.

The second one stood over her, backing her into a corner as it raised its axe. Lissa raised her staff as the axe came down.

"Lissa!"

Above them, the portal glowed again, and one more figure came out. It was someone in blue clothing with matching hair, face covered in a butterfly-shaped mask. The figure leaped in front of the creature and blocked it with their sword.

The figures hold looked to be holding with some difficulty. They turned to Chrom's and Akame's direction.

"Help!"

Taken by surprise by the turn of events, they became determined and leaped into action. Chrom charged forward, but Akame beat him to the slash.

"Eliminate."

She slashed at the creature's neck, the curse took effect and it became a pile of goo. Everyone stopped and sheathed their respective swords. Chrom looked at the remains of what used to be a monster.

"I guess seeing is believing," He commented. Then he turned to the stranger. "Also, quite the entrance. What's your name?"

The stranger just silently looks at Chrom and Akame. Then they heard the noise of more of the creatures coming towards them.

Then they heard the sound of running footsteps and hooves. Frederick and Robin burst into the scene.

"Milord! Milady! Are you hurt?"

"Frederick! Robin!" Lissa waved both her hands.

"Are such horrific creatures commonplace in these lands?" Robin asked, looking at the ghoulish creatures.

"They're not from Ylisse, I promise you that," Chrom stated.

"No one is injured, then?" Frederick looked at them for any injuries. "Thank the gods…"

"Thank the masked man who saved me! If it wasn't for him, I'd be…" She looked around, but he was nowhere to be seen. "Hey, where did he go?"

"We can worry about him later," Frederick readied his lance. "AFTER we put these...things...to the blade. Eyes open, now. We know nothing about this enemy."

"Right." Chrom redrew Falchion.

"Robin," Akame spoke to the white-haired man. "You may not have realized it, but you have the same tactical genius of a person I know. Help the other's out."

"What will you do?"

"I'm going to eliminate their strongest so that it will make this battle easier," Then she vanished without leaving a trace.

"I've got to figure out how she does that," Chrom muttered.

"Perhaps she trained through a harsh regiment, milord?" Frederick asked.

Robin looked at where Akame once stood. Taking her words to mind, he looked around the area and spotted something.

"Are those…"

"Abandoned forts, yes."

"Then we should take shelter in them whenever possible. No doubt they will offer distinct advantages in battle."

Akame rushed across the battlefield looking for prey. Judging by how one of the creatures that survived a fatal blow from Chrom, they must be undead like Yatsufusa's corpse puppets. Murasame's poison shouldn't have worked on them, yet it did. But instead of killing its heart, the poison seemed to eat the flesh, resulting in them to become a pile of goop. It can hardly be called a poison now.

Did the stranger at the inn have something to do with this?

She became alert as an undead archer fired an arrow at her. Dodging, she charged toward it as another arrow was being knocked on the string. Before it could fire, Akame slashed it's arm off, the virus eating the arm and the body of the undead.

Then she heard a roar.

She glanced and saw another undead with long hair. This one only wore pants, baring its chest at her. Its hair is long with a mask stitched to its face, glowing red eyes glaring at her for the death of its brethren. An axe is held in its right hand.

Akame guessed that this was the alpha of this horde. Which meant only one thing.

"Eliminate."

She dashed at it, bringing Murasame for an overhead slash. The undead raised it's axe and blocked the strike. It kept any part of its body from getting scratched by the blade. Looks like it learned from seeing the damage that Murasame can inflict.

Akame leaped back from the undead. It seemed that it will focus on defense to avoid being killed by the virus.

Akame got an idea.

She leaped forward and struck again, the undead raising its handle. The red-eyed killer went for a side slash, and it blocked with its handle again. Akame kept repeating the process with multiple strikes from different directions.

Finally, the handle broke.

She took advantage of the undead blocking with its weapon and used it to strike a spot on the handle of its axe. It's a trick that she used on Wave once, st make a chink in his armor. Only this time, she broke the weapon of her enemy.

Taking advantage of its unarmed state, she lunged forward and stabbed it in the chest. Then, she turned around and slowly sheathed Murasame as the virus took effect. It became goop as she walked away.

"Targets eliminated."

"It seems all the creatures are vanquished," Frederick then gestured to the stranger. "This young man took care of the others."

The stranger said nothing still.

"Um, I never got to thank you...for before," Lissa stumbles in her speech. "So...thank you. You were very brave."

"You saved my sister's life," Chrom smiled in gratitude. "My name is Chrom. Might I ask yours?

"You may call me Marth."

"Marth? After the heroic king of old? You certainly fight like a hero. Where did you learn your way with a sword?

"I'm not here to talk about me," He answered bluntly. "This world teeters at the brink of a horrible calamity. What you saw tonight was but a prelude. You have been warned."

Marth then turned and walked away.

"Huh? What's teetering where now? Hey, wait!" Lissa called.

"Not much for conversation, is he?" Robin commented.

"It appears his skills lie elsewhere. I wager we'll hear his name again…" Frederick mounted his horse. "But for now I'm more concerned about the capital. We should make haste."

"Wait!" Lissa looked around. "Wheres Akame."

"Right here."

"Agh!" Everyone whipped around to see her standing there.

"Please don't do that!"

"Okay."

"Don't say okay and do it again!"

"Shall we get going, milord?" Akame asked.

"Sure thing, but first," He gestured forward two people. "I would like you to meet friends of ours. They helped us with our skirmish, thanks to Robin's tactics if I may add."

"The kids got a knack for this," A red-haired woman got off her horse and held a hand out to Akame. "I'm Sully, one of the Captains Shepherds. I heard that sword of yours can kill with one cut. Glad you are on our side."

"Nice to meet you Sully."

"Alas fair maiden, you've yet to know who I am!" A blue-haired archer dramatically posed. "I am myth and legend! I am he who strides large across history's greatest stage! The man who puts the "arch" in "archer"! My name, dear lady, is Vi—

"Sorry, Ruffles—no time for this. Onward!"

Everybody turned and left.

"Virion!" He hastily shouted. "...Er, my name. Its Virion. W-wait! Where are you all going?"

"So this is Ylisstol, capital of Ylisse…" Robin gazed around the city in wonder. "I've never seen so many people!"

"So many meats…" Akame drooled at the site, making everyone sweatdrop.

"Is that all you can think about?"

"It appears the capital was spared the chaos we encountered, thank the gods," Frederick nodded. "I see no evidence of the great quake. It must've been limited to the forest."

"Well, that's a relief!" Lissa exhaled

"Look! The exalt has come to see us!"

Everyone turned to see a blonde woman walking through the crowd. She wore a white dress covered by a green cloak. On her forehead, is a mark that matched the one on Chroms shoulder.

"The exalt is your ruler, yes?" Robin asked.

"Yes," Frederick replied. "Her name is Lady Emmeryn."

"Is it safe for her to walk among commoners like this?"

"The exalt is a symbol of peace—Ylisse's most prized quality. Long ago, at the dawn of our age, the fell dragon tried to destroy the world. But the first exalt joined forces with the divine dragon and laid the beast low. Exalt Emmeryn reminds us all of the peace we fought for then"

"With Plegia poking at our borders, the people need her," Chrom's expression became grim. "She's a calming presence when some might otherwise call for war."

"Then the Ylissean people are indeed lucky to have her."

"She's also the best big sister anyone could ask for!" Lissa cheered.

"Yes, I imagine she…" Then everything that Lissa said registered. "Wait, what? She's your... But wouldn't that make you and Chrom…"

"The prince and princess of the realm, yes," Frederick glared at him with suspicion. "You remember Chrom's name and not this?"

"You said you were shepherds!"

"And so we are…" Chrom nervously laughed. "in a manner of speaking. We just have a LOT of sheep."

"C-Chrom... I mean, Prince Chrom! Sire! Forgive my dreadful manners!"

"Just Chrom is fine. I've never been much for formalities. Akame managed to figure it out long before you."

Robin looked at Akame incredulously.

"You knew?"

"Frederick gives it away," She stated. "Also, with how Chrom and Lissa act its pretty much obvious."

"The prince and princess…" Robin grinned. "That explains why Frederick tolerates all the teasing, eh?"

"Indeed." Frederick rhetorically agreed. "Oh, the sacrifices I make for the good of the realm…"

"It looks like Emm is returning to the palace. Would you like to meet her?"

"Chrom! Lissa! Welcome home. Oh, and good day, Frederick. How fared you all?"

"Well," Chrom scratched his head. "we shouldn't have any bandit problems for a while."

"Wonderful. And our people?"

"Safe as they can be, Emm. But we still need to watch the borders. The brigands crossed over from Plegia."

"Forgive me, milord," A woman with white hair tied to a bun stood next to the Exalt. "My pegasus knights should have intercepted them."

"No, Phila. Your duty was here, with the exalt."

"And besides, we had plenty of help!" Lissa gestured to Akame and Robin.

"Ah, you speak of your new companions here?"

"This is Robin and Akame," Chrom pointed to who is who. "They fought bravely with us against the brigands. I've decided to make them Shepherds."

"It sounds as though Ylisse owes you a debt of gratitude to the two of you."

"Not at all, milady!" Robin bowed.

"Meat will wipe your debt away faster," Akame drooled.

Chrom and Lissa laughed out loud at that. "Trust us Emm, she'll eat our entire food stores if you're not careful."

Frederick is the only one unamused. Then he cleared his throat and spoke, "Forgive me, Your Grace, but I must speak. Robin claims to have lost his memory, but it is only that: a claim. Also, we know nothing about Akame other than the fact that she's a foreigner. We cannot rule out the possibility that they are brigands themselves or even Plegian spies."

"Frederick!" Chrom facepalmed.

"Yet you allowed them into the castle, Chrom," Emmeryn spoke. "Do they have your trust?

"Yes. They risked their lives for our people. That's good enough for me."

"Well then," She addressed Akame and Robin. "It seems you've earned Chrom's faith, and as such you have mine as well."

"Milady."

"But thank you, Frederick, for your prudence, as always. Chrom and Lissa are blessed to have so tireless a guardian. I do hope they remember to mention that from time to time…"

"They occasionally express something akin to gratitude, Your Grace," Frederick could be referring to the jokes they made about him. "Phila. I assume you've heard about the deathly creatures we encountered, yes?"

"Yes, milord. They've been sighted all across Ylisse."

"Chrom, we are about to hold council. I was hoping you could join us."

"Of course."

"I think that's our cue, you two!" Lissa grabbed their arms. "C'mon, there's a place I want to show you."

There we have it, Murasame has been upgraded with a flesh-eating virus. Even the Risen isn't spared from its curse. Let me know what you think.
