Hi... *dodges various airborne objects such as but not limited to bricks, rotting tomatoes, a few pineapples, Hanninozuka Mitsukuni and a cat.* SORRY ALRIGHT!? Ive been trying to pick up the pieces of my life since my laziness shattered it like a stone chucked harshly at a sheet of glass... but at least im back, right? *dodges a few flying potatoes* ALRIGHT ALRIGHT! on with the story...
Jake watched the two leave and wondered if they might have left because of his presence. Jake stared a the boy in front of him who was in turn staring at him almost as if analyzing him. Crackpot paranoid ghost hunters for parents probably do that to a person. Jake decided that Gramps and Fu would probably wan him doing the same to the boy, 'honing his dragon senses' or something like that, so he looked the boy over.
Danny had messy black hair that just barely hung over his icy blue eyes. His skin was pale, but not abnormally so, and under his baggy clothing and somewhat lacking posture, Jake could almost see a bit of muscle definition and warriors' grace. Again Jake chalked it up to his parents' occupation. Suddenly Danny stood.
"You can use the top drawer." he said gesturing to his dresser. "Bathroom's down the hall and to the right. Once you get situated i can show you around town or something. I'll be downstairs when you're ready." he said as he left the room, leaving Jake alone once more.
After haphazardly unpacking his suitcase into the dresser and grabbing a small bag containing things such as his toothbrush and comb, he started to make his way to the bathroom to stash them when his phone buzzed. He looked at the screen identifying the caller before answering.
"Yo Trix!" he answered.
"Hey Jakey!" her voice chimed through the phone. "How's it goin' in Illinois?"
"Alright. I'm staying with a couple of weirdos though."
"Weirder than yourself and your family?"
Jake paused. "Maybe... how're you and Spud?"
"Pretty good. Though some blue overall-clad weirdo was hangin' out at the skate park."
"Anything happen?" Jake asked with a hint of concern in his voice.
"Nah, he wandered off muttering about a 'disappointing lack of boxes' or something..."
"Okay..."
"Oh, got to go, Spud's complainin' about a troll stealing his left sock."
"Wha-"
"Keep in touch Jakey." He was met with the dial tone.
Jake shut his phone and put the bag next to the sink before going downstairs.
"Nasty Burger?" Danny's cellphone screen read.
"Sure. Can i bring Jake? Told him i'd show him around town," texted Tucker. Danny waited for a response as he took another sip of soda. His parents were no doubt holed up in the lab. Jazz was most likely at the library, he figured, since she hadn't been dashing to Jake to take a look at the newest troubled teen in her care. His phone buzzed.
"Sure."
Danny turned a the sound of footsteps descending the stairs.
"Hey man." Jake said as he came down the stairs.
"Hi." Danny said, getting up again. "Wanna go to the Nasty Burger?"
Jake raised an eyebrow. "Nasty Burger?"
"Food place. I know it sounds weird, but it's better than you'd think. Especially in Tucker's opinion."
Jake thought for a moment. "Alright dawg, whatever you think."
Danny nodded and led Jake outside.
Sam rolled her eyes at Tucker's ridiculous notions. "Jake's not a troll."
"He's short enough." said Tucker before a sharp cry of pain escaped his throat at a certain combat boot meeting his shin.
"Still, i'm gonna keep an eye on my socks..." Tucker muttered under his breath. Sam was about to kick him again when Danny and Jake walked in.
"Hey Danny." Sam said. She turned to the other boy. "Jake, right?"
"Yeah." he confirmed. Sam looked him up and down. He wasn't emthat/em short.
Jake and Danny joined them in the booth they always sat at. Having an extra person with the group made the spacing between them shorter, and Sam just barely felt the irregularity of it.
"So what're you doing in Amity?" asked Tucker. Jake seemed to pause for a moment as if to remember.
"I'm here to pick up some supplies for my gramp's shop." he replied.
"What kind of supplies?" Tucker asked somewhat suspiciously. Sam had to admit, Tucker did seem to be interrogating him rather well, at least, for Tucker's usual standards.
"Electronics." Jake said. Sam and Danny almost groaned, they knew what response would follow.
"Really? What kind? Is it the new IchPhone 8? The Nebula S7? Mokia Lumina 830? Cyborg Nexus 6?" Sam could have sworn Tucker was drooling.
"Uh..." Jake looked lost.
A bored-looking teenager wearing a grease-stained Nasty Burger uniform saved Jake from having to come up with a response. "The usual?" she asked the trio before she noticed Jake.
Everyone nodded and Jake told her that he'd have whatever Danny was having before she walked away from the group.
Screams interrupted the group and a thin wisp of mist escaped Danny's lips. Jake looked briefly out the window at the green-skinned ghost with white hair various technological components making up his limbs.
"Be right back!" Danny and Jake said in unison before rushing off to the bathroom. Tucker and Sam shared a look.
Danny and Jake ignored each other as they ran into two different stalls.
There was a flash of blue-white light and Danny exclaimed "I'm goin' ghost!" before phasing through the roof as the infamous ghost hero Danny Phantom.
At the same time, Jake yelled "Dragon up!" as he was enveloped in fire before soaring through a window in the form of a red and green dragon.
