Not one review?

Not one?

You have no idea how that makes a girl feel. Is it that bad?

Well, in the words of my beloved Phantom..."I shall give you one...last...chance."

If it really is as terriable as the lack of reviews seems to say it is, I shall cease. But I want you tell me to stop. I truly love this series, and the character I created.
Can you blame me for wanted others to love it too?

The sky was that golden glow color of sunset by the time Jace stopped work on her article for the night.
She changed into a t-shirt and loose fitting shorts for her Tae Kwon Do session, filled Georgie's food dish, and stuck a container of chicken soup into the microwave for dinner.

A CD of Jim Brickman was slipped into her stero system. She smiled as the relaxing sound of a piano came from the speakers. She left some windows open so she would be able to hear it from outside.
She loved doing her Tae Kwon Do to Jim Brickman. The music calmed her, made her take herself completely into the zone.

She stepped outside into the warm night. Not as hot as the day had been, although still on the muggy side. Taking a deep breath of salty sea air, she began her warm-up stretch.
Croutch to the left, right leg stretched out. Switch sides, stretch out left leg. Arms above the head, reaching high, fingers intertwined.

She let the music and the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore take her. Her body moved with fluid grace as the routine went on.
So concentrated on the work-out, she never saw the shadow that moved closer to the motor home, did not hear the deep breaths it took, did not notice that Georgie had started to whine, and sat shivering , cowering by the door.

Her mind remained completely in her own world, until her body's movements slowed, her limbs now stretching for the cool down. The sounds of the world around her became clear again.

The terrified whining of Georgie was the first sound to reach her.

"Georgie?" She spun around, headed toward the door where she could see her dog, shaking. "Sweetie, what's the matter?"

She reached for the door handle when she heard something else. A low growling. The sound of feet shuffling on the sand.
She moved her head slowly, looking over her shoulder, scanning the area. Something was here. Where was it? WHAT was it?

Another growl sounded to her left. She whipped around quickly, her body going into a defensive stance.
The form stood in the shadows, keeping itself away from what little light was provided by Jace's motor home.
It was a man.
Yet, it was not.

It stood on two feet, but was hunched over, arms dangling at its sides, fingers curled like claws. It gave the impression of blackness.
Black clothes, black hair.
The only thing untouched by blackness where its eyes. These where bright, glowing and animal like.

It couldn't be. It simply could not be.
Yet there it was, staring at her and growling in the way animals do before they strike.

He moved.

Georgie chose that moment to stop his whining. Seeing his mistress in trouble, he started barking, loudly, and raked his front paws over the screen door.
The creature took its eyes off Jace to snarl at Georgie, and Jace took the oppurtunity to quickly open the door, scoop up the barking Georgie, and rush inside, slamming the door shut and locking it.

The creature had rushed after her, and slammed into the door. The impact seemed to rock the whole vehicle. She could hear it snarling away, scratching at the door.
She ran to the back, to her bedroom. Depositing a Georgie who had returned to shivering on the bed, she reached for one of the upper cabinets. Her hands where shaking as she took the locked gray metal box down.

She wasn't sure how she got the combination right with the way her fingers where trembling, but the box popped open, reveling a black 9mm handgun and clip.
This was something Jack had insisted on. She didn't think she'd ever use it, could ever use it.
She inserted the clip the way Jack had shown her, clicked off the safty.

"Stay here, Georgie." She said. "You here me? Stay."

Georgie buried his head under the pillows.

The snarling and scratching had stopped. She wasn't nieve enough to think that meant the thing had left.

Easing her way to the door, she reached the hand not clutching onto the gun and grabbed the handle.

The sudden sound of gun fire had her jumping back.
What the hell?

The creature shrieked, then she heard the sound of a human yell.

She didn't think twice as she unlocked the door and yanked it open.
Animalistic snarling and human grunting wared with each other. Following the sound, she saw two shadows grapeling with each other on the ground.
The creature had someone trapped beneath it. The victim was kicking with their legs, trying dislodge the attacker.

Oh man. Oh man, oh man, oh man.

The person right now fighting for their life had more then likely saved hers. She could not stand aside and watch them be teared to pieces.

She aimed the gun, steading it with her other hand.

'Jack.' She thought. 'I sure hope your lessons pay off.'

With a quick prayer that she wouldn't hit the victim by accident, she fired.

And that's all you get till I get some feedback.

Please. I'm not greedy. Just need to know if this is worth it.

Let me know.

Soon.
