Hey! We're back!
Serena: Hi!
Latias: *failing to stare at Serena menacingly*
Serena: Um...
(nervously) Let's just get to the reviews!
...
Either I'm reading this wrong or it sounds like Latios is back from the dead. Also from the summary, it sounds like Serena and Latias are going to be competing for Ash's attention. Things are going to be Interesting. I look forward for the next update. -Snivy24
Yup. Brownie point for you. And voici!
...
Having several point-of views will be very confusing for readers. Having the chapter only in a third-person view should be the way to go.
The 1st chapter was also fast-paced, like how Ash suddenly got into Altomare, then meeting Latias quickly.
Other than that, it's pretty cool. -Yvonne-chan
I guess you haven't read any of my stories. I pretty much write like that because I think it works. Besides, I put the P.O.V. whenever it changes, n'est-ce pas?
Yeah, looking back, I do see that it's a bit rushed. I do plan on making a story that closes all those gaps that I left out within my stories.
Thanks!
...
Great story, you should add some AshxBianca into it too. -linkkirby8692
Thanks, but this is the last chapter in Alto Mare, at least in my current plans for the story. I also don't think it would fit with the plot very well.
...
Great chapter and I see Latias has a rival now. good chapter I was wondering when you will be updating "a new adventure in hoenn" but this story is interesting to. Look forward to it and I will vote for your poll. Great chapter and look forward to the next one. -knightofsories141912
Please work on your grammar...
Anyway, I updated it just recently, so go check it out.
...
Well, one thing left!
Latias: I still don't like you...
Anyway...
Serena: Read, review, and enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: LE POKEMON N'EST PAS ENCORE LE MIEN. . . . VOUS NE PARLEZ PAS LE FRANCAIS, N'EST-CE PAS...
KALOS ADVENTURES
UN AMI RÉTOURNE
Ash P.O.V., several minutes previous
The first thing I saw after touching the Soul Dew was a flash of light, followed by darkness everywhere. I couldn't see a thing, yet alone tell where I was going. I thought my eyes would adjust to the darkness, but they didn't. I seemed to be walking on an invisible piece of land, though. After walking around for quite a while, I heard something moving nearby. I looked around, but I couldn't see a thing. I heard the noise again, confirming my previous suspicions. However, I still couldn't see what or who was making the noise.
"La!" a voice stated, though it didn't sound like Latias. Could it really be Latios? I thought he died those few years back. Unless...
"Ash?" the voice said, I presume through telepathy. "How did you get in the Soul Dew?"
...that. It must be Latios, then...
"I'm not sure..." I replied. I guess it must be Latios...
"Well you're here now. And if we're being honest here, I'm not sure if you'll be able to get out."
"Way to brighten the mood..."
"I know it's not the best thing to hear, but there is a slim chance for both of us to leave."
"I'm not sure I understand..."
"Are you able to control aura?" Latios asked.
I thought about that. "Now that I think of it, I was able to, but I needed to use some special pair of gloves to do it."
"That should be good enough. You need to focus your energy to break the seal that prevents us from leaving."
"This sounds kind of cheesy..."
"Just do it..."
I did what Latios told me to do, and tried to do the same thing that I did back at the Cameran Palace, but it didn't seem to do anything. "It's not working."
"Keep trying; it'll work eventually," Latios encouraged.
I honestly thought this was some sort of trick, but I decided to keep trying. Suddenly, I was knocked off of my feet by a surge of energy, and I then noticed a opening that showed the garden where I was just standing.
"Wow, I didn't think that would actually work," Latios said, noticing what had just happened.
"Can you tell me what happened just now?" I asked, confused.
"Well, either you learned to use your powers instantaneously, or a portal just opened up somehow. Either way, this may be our way out."
"But what would happen to the Soul Dew if you weren't here?" I asked, only more confused.
"I'm not sure, but if I can leave, it should remain the way it is."
"I'm confused..."
"Come on; let's just get out of this place."
With that, the two left through the portal, which closed again soon afterwards.
Latias P.O.V.
I just stood there - as did Bianca - at Ash and Latios, who were lying on the ground, unconscious. I wasn't sure whether to be surprised that Latios could come back at all or happy that I finally had my brother back. Bianca spoke first.
"Latias, do you know what happened here?" she asked.
"I'm not sure," I responded. "There was a flash of light, then BOOM! Ash and Latias are unconscious on the ground."
"Why 'BOOM!'?" Bianca asked, confused and slightly nervous at Latias' choice of words.
"I don't know, I guess I just felt like adding sound effects."
Bianca nodded slowly. "I think I better get Grandpa..."
Just after Bianca left, I noticed that Ash was waking up, so I went over to him. "Ash! Are you all right? What happened to you?"
"Yeah, I'm fine Latias. I have no idea what just happened, though..."
"You don't remember?" I asked, worried.
"No, I have just have no idea what it was..." Ash replied.
I was kind of confused, but relieved that Ash was okay.
A few minutes later, Bianca arrived with her grandpa, Lorenzo. "Why hello, Ash! It's a pleasure to see you again!" Lorenzo said.
"I don't think that's our biggest problem..." Ash responded, gesturing towards Latios. Lorenzo noticed his unconscious form on the ground, and his smile turned upside-down.
"How is the Soul Dew?" Lorenzo asked with a stern look.
"I'll check," Ash said as he headed to the pool where the Soul Dew was kept. "This is odd..."
"What is it?" I asked.
"It looks like nothing's changed..."
Lorenzo seemed relieved to know that the Soul Dew was still functioning like it should. "We can look into that later. Right now, we have to get Latios to the Pokemon Center."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Bianca asked. "Wouldn't people be suspicious about someone carrying an unconscious Latios into the town?"
"Most likely, but I'm afraid that we don't have any better options. There won't be many other people out anyway at this hour."
"Well, let's get going," Ash said. He took out one of his Poke Balls. "And besides, I might be able to help get Latios there."
"Capture Latios?" Bianca asked, frightened somewhat at the thought.
"No, The Pokemon inside the Poke Ball," Ash said, then tossed the Poke Ball into the air. "Go, Charizard!"
The red, dragon-like Pokemon appeared in front of Ash, greeting his trainer with a Flamethrower to the face. "HEY ASH!" Charizard greeted.
"Hey, Charizard. Nice to see you too..." Ash replied. Huh. Either Ash knew what Charizard said or it was just coincidence. Either way, Ash's head returned to normal before I could ask if he was all right.
"So you mean that Charizard could carry him in the air?" Lorenzo asked.
"Yup, that's pretty much the idea. At least it would be less likely for someone to see Latios."
"If Latios isn't too heavy for him that just might work. Let's try it."
Surprisingly, Charizard was easily able to lift Latios unconscious form from the ground. Everyone seemed to share the surprised reaction, as no one thought that Charizard would be able to carry Latios so easily.
"Well then, I think it's time we get going now," Lorenzo stated.
"Okay Charizard, we'll meet you at the Pokemon Center."
"GOT IT ASH!" Charizard replied, still rather loudly, before flying off to the Pokemon Center. At that, the rest of the group headed over to the Pokemon Center by foot.
Latios P.O.V.
What happened? Didn't I go over into the garden? Where am I? All I see is darkness...
Wait, never mind, my eyes are just closed. I can't seem to open them, though. I just don't have the energy...
"Will he be all right, Nurse Joy?" a voice said. I couldn't make it out for sure who it was though. I'd think I'm hearing voices in my head now, but I'm probably just not seeing things.
"Yes, of course. I can't say I know what happened to him, though. He seems to be completely out of energy, but other than that, he's physically healthy," the voice replied. "Once he wakes up he should get something to eat so he can replenish his energy. It looks like he hasn't eaten in several years."
"You have no idea..." the first voice said at a barely audible volume. It then continued normally. "Thank you very much."
"Of course. Let me know if his condition worsens." I then heard someone leaving the room that I presumed that I was in, and another person enter.
The first voice spoke again, directed toward me. "It'll be all right, Latios. Hang in there."
I somehow managed to respond, but to be honest, I really don't know how. "Of course. But do you have something for me to eat? I'm starving..."
"Oh, you're awake. Good. Have an Oran Berry." I figured whoever it was place it in front of me, so I leaned forward slightly to take a bite out of it. Thankfully I was right. At least I had enough energy now to open my eyes. I could tell that I was in a place I'd never been before, at least from what I can remember. I looked up, and noticed that Ash and most likely Latias in her human guise.
"Thanks, Ash," I said.
"Latios! You're okay!" the other one said. Definitely Latias, considering her mouth barely moved.
"I just have one question Ash," I said, something suddenly popping in my head. "How were you able to understand me earlier?"
"What do you mean? You were using telepathy, weren't you?"
"No, I wasn't. But you understood what I said perfectly."
"Huh, that is weird..."
"So you don't know?"
"Nope. No idea."
"Interesting..." I wondered whether it had something to do with the fact that we were in the Soul Dew or he could somehow understand what Pokemon were saying.
Latias got a curious face on, and spoke next, after turning back to her Pokemon form. "Can you understand me, too?"
"Yeah, of course. Why wouldn't I be able to?" Ash replied.
"Because she wasn't using telepathy..." I replied, thinking. "I can't say how or why, but you seem to be able to understand Pokemon..."
"Cool!" Ash replied. He might be several years older, but he still acts like he's ten. Then he stopped. "Wait, how did you recover so fast, Latios? Less than a minute ago you said that you were starving and could barely move, but now it's as if nothing even happened..."
"No idea."
Everything was silent for a moment. It was Latias who broke the silence.
"Well then!" she said. "Let's go let Bianca and Lorenzo know you're okay!"
As there were no disagreements, the threesome went back into the lobby.
Third Person P.O.V.
Ash, Bianca, Lorenzo, and the Latis regrouped at Bianca and Lorenzo's house. They decided to gather around the kitchen table to discuss things.
"So Ash, why did you come here, anyway?" Bianca asked. Lorenzo nodded, showing that he was wondering the same thing.
"I don't know. I couldn't decide where to go for my next journey, and I saw the picture you and Latias gave me before I left last time and decided to come visit."
What picture? Bianca thought to herself, though instantly knew the answer. Latias must have given him a gift before Ash and his friends left last time. I hope she didn't do anything too drastic...
"Well, have you decided what to do yet?" Latios asked, munching on an apple and making sure to use telepathy to ensure that Bianca and Lorenzo also kew what he said.
"No, not yet. A friend of mine offered to take me to the Kalos region, but-"
"Oh, can I come!?" Latias asked eagerly.
"Let me finish please..." Ash said, making Latias settle down. "Like I said, I was offered to go to the Kalos region, but I'd prefer not to..."
"Why not?" Latias asked, trying to hide her disappointment.
"An old friend of mine lives there. We met at a Pokemon camp in Pallet Town a few years before I started my Pokemon journey, but I haven't heard from her since."
"Who is this friend of yours?" Latios asked.
"A girl named Serena," Ash replied. "Why?"
"I see…" Latios said.
"Pikapi! Pika!" Pikachu said, gesturing for Ash to follow him. Pikachu led Ash just around the corner, but not necessarily out of hearing range. After a relatively long rant that was barely coherent to even Latios and Latias, Pikachu struck Ash with a Thunderbolt attack.
Returning to the table with a cartoonishly burnt face, Ash spoke. "I've changed my mind; I'll go to Kalos after all…"
"Yay!" Latias replied, not really caring about what made Ash change his mind. "Can I come?"
"Um…" Ash replied, still not fully recovered from Pikachu's Thunderbolt.
"I don't necessarily like the idea, but I do think it would be a good idea for Latias to get a chance to see the world outside of Alto Mare, considering she has been here all her life," Lorenzo thought out loud.
Somehow I doubt that that's why she wants to go with him. Bianca thought to herself. No matter how many times I tried to cheer her up, it never worked. But now that Ash is here, Latias is back to her happy old self…
"Yeah, I think it would be a great idea," she stated.
"Does that mean I can go with him?" Latias asked Lorenzo.
"If Ash is all right with it, I am as well," Lorenzo replied.
Before Ash could reply, Latios spoke. "I would like to go as well."
"Why?" Latias asked.
"I have my reasons."
"Well Ash, will you let them come along with you?" Lorenzo asked.
"Of course but-" Ash started, though he was interrupted once again but Latias.
"Yeah! Let's go!" Latias said cheerfully, dragging Ash out of the house, Pikachu following behind them.
Latios sweatdropped. "I guess I should follow them…" he said. "I'll make sure to keep Latias safe, I promise."
At that, Latios left, attempting to catch up with Ash and Latias.
"I hope Latias and Latios will be okay…" Bianca said.
"To be honest, I'd be more worried about Ash," Lorenzo replied. "I don't think he has any idea what he's getting into…"
Third Person P.O.V.
Somehow Ash managed to convince Latias to stop at the Pokemon Center. This mostly included that they weren't going anywhere in particular.
Soon after they arrived, Latios caught up to them. "So, you can't stop and wait for me?" he asked.
"Sorry, Latios," Ash asked. "I barely convinced Latias to stop here."
"Pikapi!" Pikachu reminded Ash.
"Oh, right. I need to let my mom know I'll be going to Kalos."
"Really? How old are you know? Fifteen? Sixteen?" Latios asked.
"Hey, she's my mom, and besides, she thinks I'm going back to Pallet Town after I'm done here. The least I could do is tell her where I'm going."
Ash went over to the computer-phones and dialed the number for the similar device at his house. A few seconds later, Mimey, a Mr. Mime that lived at the Ketchum residence, answered the call.
"Hey, Mimey!" Ash greeted.
"Mime!" Mimey responded.
"Is Mom there?"
"Mime," Mimey shook his head.
Must be out right now. Ash thought. I'll call her after I get to Kalos.
"Okay, thanks," Ash replied, ending the call.
"Okay, can we go now?" Latias asked, walking over to Ash, followed by Latios.
"There's just one problem," Ash said. "We don't have any way of getting there."
"No problem. I can take you there," Latios offered.
"Thanks for the offer, but you do realize that a few hours ago you were dead, right?"
"Good point. But do you have any other ideas?"
"Not really, unless there's a boat to take us there."
"Well then, we will check for a boat, and if there isn't one within the next couple days, I'll take you myself."
"Fine."
Just as the trio was about to leave, two people dressed in sailor uniforms, a young man and a young woman, walked up to them.
"Um, excuse me, but who are you?" Ash asked.
"Don't you see? Their sailors!" Latias pointed out obviously.
"We hear you're looking for a ship to the Kalos region," the male sailor said.
"And we can take you there!" the female sailor said.
"Well that's very nice of you, but-" Ash said.
"Come along now! Don't want to be late!" the female sailor said, pushing Ash along to where the boat was docked.
"You know, I have an odd feeling that this is going to be something that happens often now..." Latias said as she and Latios followed invisibly behind Ash and the two sailors.
You know I wanted to include more, but I wanted to get this up today, so I'll just make the next chapter longer. Also, brownie points for you if you can guess what the chapter title means. C'est le français!
Latias: *continues to to fail to stare at Serena menacingly*
Serena: Please tell me this isn't a permanent thing...
Well, just remember to leave a review and I'll try to get this story here updating reasonably soon...
