Title: Outside -- The Charmer and His Enabler
Rating: G
Spoilers/Warnings: Generally set in late season 2, no specific spoilers
Summary: He likes to tell me you're stubborn. Bossy. Difficult. I know better now.
He's a charmer, you know. Man could charm the socks off anyone, provided he wanted to. Except maybe you.
I was easy for him. A little charm, a few compliments, and a dash of professional respect and he won me like one those "everybody gets'em" prizes at the carnival. Lucky for me, there's a good man with decent intentions behind all that smarmy charm, so I didn't wind up crushed and discarded when my novelty wore off.
You've got to be the only person I've seen able to resist him when he pulls out all the stops. It makes him crazy. Really. But the challenge of you is too tempting to someone like him.
The charmer's finally met his match in you.
And until this morning, I believed that you were just as oblivious as you claimed.
But today I watched your precarious battle from behind the silent safety of window glass. He laid out the best of his endearing charm on your desk and you didn't give. You gave it back with more, in a wicked game of dares.
He grinned, you grinned.
He leaned into your space and you came at him with arms crossed in a seemingly passive pursuit.
He fell back, you kept coming.
He pouted and you backed down, arms still crossed, but ready for another round but still offering him a welcoming smile.
He likes to tell me you're stubborn. Bossy. Difficult.
I know better now. He'll never see this addiction coming until you've won.
