A/n: I do not own Sailor Moon.

Decided I would add onto this drabble and turn it into a short story. This chapter really solely focuses on how Serena can fight for herself.

It wasn't a secret how Serena Tsukino lost her old spark. She pushed away the Scouts, her family, and even Luna. She felt as though she had been sucked into a black hole; one she couldn't fly out of. Serena avoided any chance of even the slightest possibility of seeing her ex-boyfriend, Darien Shields. She had started waking up an hour before she had to be at school, and she even discovered a new pathway to school; one that doesn't have a certain six-foot raven haired college boy. She even stopped going to the Crown Arcade, because she knew he would be there. Even though she had a strong craving for Andrew's triple fudge ice cream sundae.

"You have missed the last three Scouts meeting," Luna said, one morning as Serena was getting ready for school. "I am not going to make excuses for you anymore. You will be at the meeting at the Temple after school today."

Serena buttoned her shirt as Luna lectured her, but Serena didn't plan on attending any Scouts meeting in the near future. After-all, everyone even Luna thought she was the weakest link. Rei was still in disbelief of Serena being the Moon Princess. Serena would now use her power of being the Princess as a weapon against facing the Scouts in any future confrontations. She wouldn't admit it to Luna, but being with the Scouts only made her remember Darien even more, and she was done with being hurt.

"I have already made plans with Molly," Serena said as she pulled her long blonde hair back into a pony-tail. "And before you try and say to reschedule...I don't have to because we now know I am the Moon Princess. I can protect myself without the aid of Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Scouts."

Before Luna could even try to talk some sense into the stubborn girl; Serena had fled out of the house and ran to school. Serena knew she couldn't keep running from the same problems, but right now she couldn't face everything. She had enough on her plate with battling monsters as her alter-ego, Sailor Moon and on top of that she had school work to do.

"Hi Serena, are we still on for shopping after school today?" Molly said with hopefulness filled in her voice. Serena had been known for getting "detention" before they were about to hang out.

"Of course." Serena said as she walked to her first class.

She didn't say much during school, because she was concentrating too hard on not falling asleep in class. She was also busy avoiding Ami and Lita as the school day went on. She didn't want to ruin into any of her best friends, because they would force her face her recent break-up. All she wanted to do was go back to life before Luna had come in and ruined it. She used to be a normal fourteen year old blonde hair girl with an unusual hair-style, but now she was someone kids looked up to for hope. She didn't want to be responsible for saving the world. Serena would give it all up to return to her old life in a heartbeat.

The school day dragged on exceptionally slow, and it felt as though she would never get out of this hell hole. Finally the last bell rang, and she ran to find Molly before Ami and Lita found her and dragged her to the Scouts meeting.

"Serena, aren't you coming to the Temple?" She heard Ami, the blue haired girl shouted behind her.

"No, I have plans. Luna will be excited to tell you when you see her at the Temple." Serena said but, she didn't turn around.

Instead she found Molly and pulled the poor girl along in a run to the mall. Molly was confused of why, Serena was acting so strange, but Serena explained she wanted to be the first one to the deals. Once, Serena was sure they were in the clear from being chased after by Ami or Lita, she yielded to almost a complete stop.

"Well, what store do you want to visit first?" Molly said once she caught her breath.

Serena however, didn't hear the girl's question because she was already hearing screams of innocent people being attacked by a youma. She also heard Luna speaking to her about how the Scouts were on their way there to help her fight the monster.

"I have to pee," Serena said quickly as she ran away from Molly to transform. "The Scouts aren't needed. I can do this myself. Moon, Prism, Power."

She felt the familiarity of the ribbons against her naked flesh as she transformed into the superhero, Sailor Moon. She rushed to the food court where the screams were coming from and braced herself for a battle.

"Hey Nega-trash you are ruining a perfectly nice shopping day with your ugliness," Serena started her usual introductory speech. "My name is Sailor Moon, I am the champion of love and justice. In the name of the Moon, I will punish you."

The youma turned to face her. It looked almost like a woman with blonde hair, but it was covered with vines around it's body. A vine lashed out to try and grab Sailor Moon, but she dodged it. Serena was determined to defeat the youma without aid of Tuxedo Mask or any of the Sailor Scouts.

"I don't have time to chit-chat. . Action." She screamed as she whipped the tiara towards the youma.

There was nothing left of the youma except ashes. Serena ran off to de-transform and find Molly, but there was another youma. She found herself running near the old familiar apartment building of which her ex-boyfriend lived in. It took her only ten minutes to get there, and surprisingly the Scouts weren't there yet.

"My name is Sailor Moon, I am the champion of love and justice. In the name of the Moon, I will punish you." Serena said as she launched herself towards the youma.

This youma wasn't as easy as the last one. The youma looked like a deck of cards, and would hurl cards towards her. Serena managed to dodged everyone, but her energy was growing weaker.

"Moon, tiara...action." She said as she whipped her tiara towards the youma in the last attempt to destroy it.

She felt the world fade black as the youma shrieked one last time.
