"Ladies and gentlemen, introducing for the first time, Mr. and Mr. Hummel-Anderson!"

The hall erupted in cheers as Kurt and Blaine entered the reception room. They were smiling widely, incredibly happy to finally be married. There wasn't a single person in the crowded room who would disagree that they were one of the most beautiful couples ever in existence.

Kurt had insisted on designing their wedding suits so they could be unique and express their personalities. Kurt's was a dull silver color with dull gold pattern and bowtie, and Blaine's was the opposite – dull gold with dull silver pattern and bowtie. Somehow Kurt made it work.

The number of people at their wedding was huge. Apart from their families and many friends, there were many journalists and reporters in attendance to observe the famous designer's wedding. After Kurt had announced his engagement to the media, he had to tell their love story and it quickly had become a favorite topic of almost all TV talk shows and magazines. Kurt and Blaine had attended thousands of interviews and had to accept the fact that they would have to invite the media to the wedding.

Moreover, all of Kurt's colleagues also desired to attend so here and there were walking designers, tailors, and models; the latter making their single, and not so single, friends drool. Blain's colleagues and favorite students from Julliard also were there, so Kurt's models were regularly hit on by young, and not so young, musicians. Added to this, the entire Ohio league, as Kurt called them, consisting of New Directions, the Warbler's, old teachers, and family. When Kurt had been planning on recreating a royal wedding he hadn't known that the amount of people would be almost the same as well.

It took them almost two hours to accept congratulations from all the guests before the newlyweds could finally eat and relax. They were watching their guests dancing when Blaine's gaze fell on their kids slow-dancing together.

"What do you think?" Blaine addressed his husband, "Have we killed their chances of being happy together?"

"Why? Do you think we have?" Kurt asked, following Blaine's gaze.

"They're so young. They're not ready to live together. It'll kill all the intimacy of their relationship. I'm not even going to talk about the whole step-sibling part," Blaine said, sadly, "I want them to be able to slowly build their relationship like we did, but we are making them take a huge step, which ever we are only just taking."

"I know one thing," Kurt answered, "We're not sure about where their relationship will go, but we're completely sure about ours. I've been waiting for this," he waved his hand, demonstrating his ring, "for us, for too long. If I've learned anything it's that you shouldn't give up on something that will make you happy. Our kids want us to be happy and I believe that if they are meant to be they'll get through anything, just like we did."

When Kurt and Blaine went on their honeymoon, Lizzie and Devon were sent to their grandparents, Lizzie to Westerville and Devon to Lima. The great move-in had been planned for the day after the newlyweds came back from their trip.

It had been decided that Blaine and Lizzie would move into Kurt and Devon's apartment. Even though Blaine earned plenty, he preferred to save money so he'd owned a simple flat with two bedrooms, a living room, and his office. Kurt, on the other hand, had changed apartments almost every two years since becoming famous. Every time he moved he bought more and more luxurious apartments. He enjoyed designing interiors, doing total makeovers for each of his apartments.

His current apartment had been bought a year ago, after Kurt had been named Top Designer by Vogue, and it was huge. Nobody understood why on earth Kurt needed such a big apartment when there was only he and Devon living there.

There were six bedrooms, two spacious living rooms, a gym, a swimming pool, four bathrooms, an office where Kurt designed with an extra room where he kept his materials and sewing machines. The apartment was on two levels and it was easy to get lost in, so there was more than enough space for two more people, one of whom didn't even need one of the spare bedrooms. However, Kurt still insisted on doing a little makeover to make the rooms more comfortable for Lizzie and Blaine. No one was allowed to see the changes he was making, so when they finally moved in it was a big surprise.

Kurt turned one of the guest bedrooms into a room for Lizzie, adding more feminine details and trying to make it suitable for a teenage girl, as well as for the woman she'll be one day. He re-filled her closet with new, expensive clothes, accessories, and shoes. He knew some of her hobbies like music; which she clearly inherited, and photography so added some details into the room to allow her to do her favorite things there.

For Blaine, he had changed one more room, turning it into a music room. The walls were soundproofed and there was a huge window, brightening the room with natural light which, Kurt knew, Blaine preferred to artificial light. There were a lot of old, expensive musical instruments, as well as modern ones. He only allowed Blaine to play on the old ones, saying that they were more like a collection for him.

Blaine was especially surprised when he saw his very first guitar hanging on the wall. As a teenager he had saved up for months before managing to afford it. It was simple, but it was his first and favorite instrument. It was the guitar he had liked to play on during their lazy weekends in the Dalton Academy dorms or at one of their parents' houses. Kurt had listened to some of Blaine's original songs and made comments on them. With time, the cheap guitar had started to fall apart and Blaine had to buy a new one. He wasn't even sure that his parents had kept the old thing but, apparently, they had and Kurt had taken it from them. He'd fixed it up a little and hung it on the wall behind thick glass to protect it from any more damage.

When Blaine saw the guitar he began to tear up a little. He was amazed that even after 26 years apart Kurt still could know him so well. Even though Blaine that that the whole apartment was too pompous, he couldn't disagree that Kurt knew how to fill a space and make you feel at home and like royalty at the same time.

One thing that surprised Blaine happened when he laid his head on Kurt's pillow after the couple entered their room for the first time. At first, Blaine thought that it was some kind of fur pillow, but then he realized that it was a fat cat. It wasn't so surprising, Blaine always knew that Kurt wanted a cat, but he had imagined him with some pure bred fluffy cat, like a Birman or a Persian cat. However, this one was a simple black, shorthair cat with big, yellow eyes. It lazily looked at the couple, gave Blaine an incredulous look, and fell asleep again.

"Don't mind Coco. She likes to sleep on my pillow. That's why I have so many, because she steals them all," Kurt said, petting the cat and gesturing to the bed which had lots of pillows on it. "I'd say we could try to expel her from here, but it's impossible. She's too spoiled," Kurt cooed, giving his cat an adoring look.

"And you tease me about treating my daughter as a princess. You treat a cat like more than that!" Blaine smirked, sitting next to Kurt on their bed and allowing Coco to sniff him. "Coco as in Chanel, am I right?"

"Yes," Kurt sighed, "When Devon became too old to snuggle with me I found this cutie behind my studio while I was trying to make one of my models stop smoking there. She, I mean the cat, was a tiny stray with these big sad eyes and I just couldn't resist. She's not so tiny now, though…" the cat turned onto her back and Kurt complied to scratch her stomach and she started purring loudly, "But she likes to cuddle with me. So, she's your competitor, honey. Devon says that he hates her because I love her more than him, but we both know that he loves her as much as I do."

"God, Kurt," Blaine laughed, "You sound like a crazy 80-year-old cat lady. You should be thankful that we met again. Otherwise, you'd die being eaten by your 10 future cats."

"And you'd be that creepy old professor who died at your desk while grading essays," Kurt retorted, "Like that one ghost professor from Harry Potter who died and didn't even notice. He just continued to teach as a ghost? That'd be you!"

"And you say that I'm obsessed with Harry Potter?!" Blaine asked, raising one of his eyebrows.

"Well, it's a good thing to read after a long day. I can't read only Vogue, you know…"

"What would 16-year-old Kurt Hummel say to that?!" Blaine gasped, mockingly, laying a hand over his heart.

"He'd laugh at your too-long beard and say that you should do something about your skin before you're too wrinkled to kiss!" Kurt teased and kissed his husband, "Where did you get all these wrinkles anyway?"

"I told you that I lived in Rome for a few years. It's really sunny there, you know. It was bad for my skin," Blaine sighed, "But I improved my Italian and visited all my Italian friends. And Lizzie is bilingual, which is special. And my spaghetti is much better now!"

"You said it!" Kurt exclaimed, "It's decided. You're the cook now! I don't have time and nobody wants to see what Devon can cook."

"I don't have time either," Blaine objected, "Lizzie has my aunt's cooking skills so she's a great cook."

"Hooray!" Kurt squealed happily, "Where are the kids, by the way?"

"Devon is helping Lizzie unpack—"

Blaine was cut off by the sound of shattered glass and Lizzie's indignant voice, "Devon that costs a lot! I told you to be careful!" Kurt sighed and gave Blaine an apologetic look.

"My son may be a good dancer but usually he's as graceful as an elephant."

"What do you think will happen with their relationship?" Blaine asked.

"I think," Kurt started, thoughtfully, "that at the beginning they'll be endlessly happy then things will get worse, then better, then great, and then… they will either break up or will become closer and stronger. However, I think we have to set some rules for them either way."

Later that night, after dinner, Lizzie and Devon were seated on the sofa ready to listen to whatever their dads wanted to tell them.

"Okay guys," Kurt started, "We need some rules here. Firstly, we're not telling you to break up, that'd be cruel and unfair, but we're telling you to take it really slow."

"No sex!" Blaine suddenly exclaimed, earning three embarrassed looks.

"Thanks, dear," Kurt sighed and laid a calming hand on Blaine's knee, "Well, he's right. We know that you haven't had sex yet and we intend on keeping it that way. You're still too young and sex always makes things difficult. We're not forbidding making out, even though somebody wanted to," Kurt glanced at Blaine, who was trying to look intimidating, "But you're keeping it PG-13 for a year."

"A year?!" Devon exclaimed, annoyed, "Dad, you can't be serious!"

"I am, young man, you know me well enough to realize that. Also, from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. neither of you is allowed to the other's room. No exceptions," Kurt said sternly and Devon groaned in frustration, knowing that it was useless to argue with his dad.

"Also," Kurt continued, "There are going to be fights between you two. Just know that neither Blaine nor I will take sides. We're not going to listen to, 'Dad, tell him/her that he/she is wrong,' or 'Dad, support me, because you are my dad' or anything like that. We're Switzerland! We're a neutral territory unless it's something really important. If you want some kind of advice, feel welcome to ask for it, but don't ask us to choose between the two of you."

"Unless one of you is accusing the other of something and we both know that it's not true," Blaine added, "We can be your witnesses but we won't be your judges."

"It, of course, doesn't save you from being grounded if you did do something wrong," Kurt continued, "We're still your parents. Moreover, you have to obey both of us equally. There are not going to be differences in how we treat you. I'm not going to be less or more strict on Devon because he's my son. We're all equal here, clear?"

"Yes, sir," Devon mumbled, annoyed, and Lizzie just nodded.

"Great," Blaine stated, "Now, who's up for a movie?"

They didn't make it long. After an hour of the movie, Devon and Lizzie fell asleep on the sofa and Kurt and Blaine were not far from sleeping too. Understanding that it was time to move to bed, Kurt carefully rose from the sofa and went to wake the kids up and send them to bed but suddenly froze and smiled.

"What's wrong?" Blaine asked, seeing his husband's frozen stupor.

"Nothing… just…" Kurt smiled and looked fondly back at Blaine. "Since I was 18 I've moved so many times looking for something better. I've lived in almost 15 different apartments, Blaine, but I always sensed that something was absent and now I know what it was."

"What?" Blaine questioned, moving to Kurt and wrapping his arms around him.

"You. And Lizzie. Family," Kurt responded, "At first it was always just me. Then appeared Devon, and I love him with all my heart, but we've always been… incomplete. Now, I feel like finally everything is as it should be. And you Andersons are the reason."

"My missing puzzle piece, I complete," Blaine sang quietly, "It's still our song, isn't it?"

"Yes, it is."

"I feel the same, love," Blaine said, softly, "I'm so glad we're finally together. Nothing's ever gonna bring us apart, I promise."

Like Kurt had predicted, the first weeks of their life together, Lizzie and Devon spent in complete bliss. They used the permission to make out to the fullest. Kurt couldn't count all the times he'd walked in on them kissing so by the end he practically stopped paying attention to their passion. Blaine, on the other hand, always complained that he didn't want to have eyes after he witnessed something more than just a quick peck on the lips.

However, one Saturday everything changed when Kurt and Blaine were woken up by loud arguing. Apparently, Devon crushed Lizzie's favorite cup, she criticized him, and he remembered when she had spilt her nail polish on his PlayStation. The complaints continued one by one. However, Kurt and Blaine preferred to not notice anything and left the apartment to have breakfast in a café. Breakfast turned into lunch then into a full day date so when they came back in the evening the kids had apparently dealt with their problems. They were making out on the couch which made Blaine unbelievably grumpy and whiny.

Although, the Pandora box was opened. Since then, they had fights more and more often, going from one or two a week to five every day. Soon enough, Blaine was missing their make-out sessions because at least then they weren't so loud and didn't give him migraines. But the dads kept their promise and never took part in the arguments, preferring to disappear somewhere during them or just ignore them completely. Apart from one case when Lizzie, while in a rage, almost threw Kurt's favorite scarf into the fireplace. It turned then from 'Devon kissed some bitch on the cheek' argument to 'do whatever you want but never touch daddy-Kurt's clothes unless you plan to be gentle with them' scolding.

Kurt knew that it was the beginning of the end when Devon came to him for advice one day.

"Dad?" Devon asked, entering Kurt and Blaine's bedroom, "Can I talk to you?"

"Sure," Kurt gestured for his son to sit on the sofa, while he was finishing sorting some drafts of clothes on the bed. When there were six perfect piles, he joined his son on the sofa. "What's wrong?"

"It's about Lizzie," Devon started carefully, "You know that I'm really happy for you and Blaine… Where is he, by the way?"

"He took Lizzie to the cinema for their father-daughter evening. Apparently, she wanted some time from you," Kurt explained, sadly, seeing his son's frustration.

"Yeah… Well, Dad, I don't know what to do. At the beginning it was so good to always be together, but now I feel like she's everywhere and I can't hide. I'm really tired of her, even though I know that sh'es a great girl. Now she's just driving me insane!"

"Son," Kurt started, "I remember how you felt when you started dating her. Tell me, do you feel the same now?"

"Dunno," Devon sighed, "Probably… but I'm not so sure anymore. How do you live in one room with Blaine and still act like lovesick puppies?"

"Because we're meant to be," Kurt explained, "After all these years we learned to see that no matter what we do, we always find out way back to each other. I never feel sick of him. We always want to be together. Even when we fight, we don't leave, we want to go through the pain together. That's what real love is, son. But you're too young for this kind of love."

"But you met Blaine when you were as old as me. Have you ever felt like this with Blaine?"

"I've never felt sick of him, if that's what you're asking. But we never lived together either."

"And you've never wanted to be with someone else?" Devon asked, cautiously.

"Well, there was one time when I was texting with this one guy," Kurt said, slowly, remembering 'The Chandler Incident', "But I never thought about cheating on Blaine, he always was the one for me."

"But he DID cheat on you!" Devon protested, "That means that HE wanted to be with someone else."

"He had 26 years to think about that," Kurt answered firmly, "His cheating wasn't because he was sick of me. It was quite the opposite actually, but we've changed the subject. Did you cheat on Lizzie?"

"I may have kissed a girl," Devon whispered, guilty, "It's just so good to slowly get to know somebody and miss her when she's not around. I don't have that with Liz anymore. I'm always with her. I even know all her underwear and not because I've seen her in them but because I have to do laundry with her!"

"I understand but if you like another girl break-up with Lizzie first. She deserves honesty, Devon!"

"Yeah," Devon sighed, "I need to think. Thanks, Dad," he hugged Kurt and stood up, "Love you."

"I love you too, honey. I know you'll do what's right."

After this conversation, Blaine was expecting Lizzie to come talk to him about their relationship. She came, but not to him.

"Kurt?" Lizzie called, entering his office, "Can I talk to you?"

"Of course, sweetheart," Kurt answered, slightly surprised. "However, after all the faces Blaine was making at Lizzie and Devon's kisses it wasn't unpredictable that Lizzie wanted to talk to Kurt instead.

"I wanted to ask for advice," Lizzie said, sadly, "about Devon and I."

"I'm listening."

"Well, you know, Kurt, I look at you and Daddy and I want the same thing but what I have with Devon… It's not the same. I want to kill him every time he leaves his boxers on the floor in the bathroom or makes silly jokes. There are so many sides of him that I hadn't really noticed before living together! For example, before when he talked about computers and all that technology stuff he likes so much, I thought that it was cool that he's so smart, but now, it's everything he talks about and I really think that he likes his screwdriver more than me!"

"I can understand," Kurt smiled. His son's obsession with videogames and computers slowly turned into an obsession with everything technological. He knew that Devon was looking through the MIT website and he was secretly proud of him for his ambitions. "I remember Blaine at that age. He was obsessed with so many things, especially music, but I liked to listen to him because I found it fascinating that he had so much passion."

"But I don't!" Lizzie exclaimed, frustrated, "I want to be, but I always get incredibly bored. And he sees it. We're not talking anymore because we're interested in completely different things! Sometimes I think that I'd have a more successful relationship with my best friend because we at least are interesting in the same things!" The girl was on the verge of tears, and Kurt could see it.

"Lizzie, if that's so then why don't you break it off?" he asked, carefully.

"I don't know! I don't want you and Daddy to argue because of it! I don't want uncomfortable silence during our family evenings! I don't want to look for a new boyfriend because Devon's still the best guy I've ever dated!" Lizzie was crying now. Kurt quickly stood up and embraced the girl, allowing her to wet his shoulder with tears.

"Sweetheart, Blaine and I would be fine. The uncomfortable silence has been there for three weeks and you can't stay with my son only because you're afraid that you won't meet someone better. Think about what's better for you! Do you love him?"

"I don't know…"

"Then you should really think about it. I'm sure that you'll figure it out!" Kurt promised. Lizzie pulled away and smiled.

"Thank you, Kurt," she said, sadly.

"No problem, dear. Can I ask…?"

"Why I came to you and not my dad?"

"Yeah."

"You see," Lizzie sighed, "I adore my dad, he's wonderful, but when it comes to boys…he's difficult. He always thinks that they want to take advantage of me, usually he's wrong but…some time ago there was a boy. Dad warned me about him but I didn't listen. I almost let him…have sex with me, but then I found out that at the same time he was sleeping with two other girls. I was so heartbroken. Since then my dad has been protective over me with boys. I don't want him to hate Devon if we break up."

"Don't worry," Kurt promised, "I'll take care of that."

Blaine was really upset when Kurt told him everything Lizzie told him but after a couple of hours Blaine agreed to change his behavior towards Lizzie's boyfriends.

There were five peaceful days after Kurt and Lizzie's conversation during which Lizzie and Devon hardly spoke. But one day, when Kurt and Blaine came home, they saw the family room in a disarray and Lizzie and Devon arguing in the center of it all. They were shouting at each other and Kurt was considering going to the cinema to hide from all the chaos but suddenly two final phrases ended the argument.

"I'm tired of this! We're over!" Devon shouted.

"Finally! Thank you!" Lizzie answered. Then Devon stormed outside and the door to Lizzie's room slammed.

Kurt and Blaine exchanged a glance and moved to clean the mess.

"Thank god it's over…" Blaine said, relieved, but Kurt knew that nothing was over yet.

Since then the tension in the apartment was almost unbearable. Devon and Lizzie never talk and if they do communicate about anything they tried to pass the message through their dads or notes. There were a couple more arguments, but almost a month later the tension seemed to reduce.

However, when two months later Devon brought his new girlfriend home Lizzie slapped him and then spent the day crying in her room.

By that time the school year was over and Kurt and Blaine decided that the kids needed to rest from each other and sent them to their grandparent; Lizzie to Westerville and Devon to Lima. Thanks to that decision, Kurt and Blaine finally managed to get a rest from all the drama and go on their own vacation.

It was a good decision as during the summer both Lizzie and Devon finally managed to date other people without extra drama and problems and when they came back to New York they realized that they even missed each other. They finally talked heart-to-heart and decided to stay friends. It was then that Kurt knew that it was finally over.

A year later, they were saying goodbye to Devon who was going to MIT to study Computer Science. Kurt was openly sobbing, hugging his son who was also clutching to his father with all his strength. Looking at the two, Blaine could really see Kurt and his 'little koala'. Lizzie was staying in New York to study at NYU and he was very happy about it, but he couldn't help but tear up a little at the sight of Kurt parting with his only child. When Kurt finally let Devon go it was obvious that Devon was crying as well. Blaine gave him a tight hug for he'd miss him too, and then Lizzie lightly kissed him on the cheek and jumped to hang around his neck. When he finally had to board, Kurt gave him another tight hug and they exchanged 'I love you's.

When two years later, Lizzie moved in with her best friend and Kurt and Blaine began to feel a little lonely in their huge apartment Blaine suggested adopting. He and Kurt couldn't decide if they wanted a boy or a girl, so when they came across abandoned twins, a boy and a girl, on the adoption center's website they went for it. When Kurt hugged the little blonde girl and she clutched to him, koala-style, they both knew that it was destiny.

Five years later, Devon over-heard a girl criticizing a smartphone made by the company he worked for. He confronted her about it and they spent about two discussing different technologies and ways of modernization. They married two years later.

Lizzie ended up working as a photographer. Kurt quickly found her an agent thanks to his connections and one day she was doing a photo shoot for a modern band. She and the vocalist fell in love almost instantly and got married less than a year later.

Twenty years later, the whole family re-united on their usual Christmas dinner night. Lizzie was giving some advice about make-up to Devon's daughter, Lizzie's son was giving pick-up advice, previously learned from Uncle Puck, to Devon's son, and the twins were chatting with Lizzie's husband. Kurt and Blaine knew that even though their kids didn't end up together they could never ask for a better family.
