"Sooo... Who are you guys?" Ness decided to question these men that were escorting him out of the arcade.

The red hair guy looked at the other man, and then they looked back at Ness.

"Well, kid, we're going on a vampire hunt. And the only reason I'm telling you this is because you seem like the type that could keep a secret."

For a minute, Ness was about to explain how he saved the world to these weirdos, but then he remembered that only a few people knew of his good deeds.

"Well... Well I can help you guys!"

The men stopped. Dark looks on their faces.

"Kid, you have no idea what we're up against. This guy we're after could kill you by flicking your fucking nose." Said the man with the silver hair. They seemed much more serious than before.

"You won't believe me if I told you, but I can help you save this world. Trust me, please!"

The red haired man sighed, looked at the other man, and nodded. He then went back inside the arcade.

"Fine. I'll give you one shot. I'm gonna throw my st-Ah-uh... Um... I'm gonna throw my secret technique at you. Try and take this..."

The man struck a pose, and Ness could hear the clankety clanks of old timey armor. The man held his pose. Ness could feel air being pushed all around him, as if something was there. He felt the wind grow stronger around him, and he closed his eyes and held out his bat.

A couple quick slashing sounds, and he felt lighter. Ness opened his eyes, and he noticed his backpack fell off.

The straps were cut.

"W-What?! How did you..."

"You see kid, the reason we're hauling around an old man, two teens, a little girl, and me is because we all have one thing in common. Come closer..." The man knelt down, and tried to talk as quietly as he could into the boy's ear.

"We all have... We... We all have stands." He said.

Ness looked confused. 'Stands? What does that mean?'

"Now, you're probably wondering what a stand is. They're a sort of... manifestation of your personality... or something..."

"Well why can't I see it?"

"Well, it's simple. You have to have one to see them. Otherwise, you'd have no idea they even existed."

"I... I don't..." He was at a loss for words. Not ever on any of his journeys had he heard of a "stand."

"It's ok. It is alot to take in, after all. You know what, I'll take you along with us. As my... Pupil?"

Ness liked how that sounded.

"Well what's your name?"

"Mine? Jean Pierre Polnareff."
