Water:
The Water Tribes are very much similar to those in A:TLA and TLOK. In terms of power, the Northern Water Tribe is significantly stronger and more recognized as both a military and political presence. They are allied with the Southern Water Tribe and the two are mutual in their hatred of the Earth Kingdoms, feeling that the Kingdoms had been expanding to much into their waters.
Earth:
The Earth Kingdoms in this era is not a single Kingdom as in A:TLA and TLOK. Instead, there are multiple smaller Kingdoms with their respective monarchs. However, it should be noted that some of these 'Kingdoms' are really referred to as such in name (to present a more dignified-sounding image). Regardless, there are at least 3 major players within the faction, but the most renowned of them would be the City of Ba Sing Se, which had been an economic powerhouse and insurmountable obstacle thus far. The other two are the cities of Omashu and Si Wong. The latter two are less economically inclined but trumps Ba Sing Se in terms of its militaristic might and academic knowledge respectively. Omashu is a stronger military presence than Ba Sing Se, while Si Wong prioritizes its academic rigor - its academics are probably the most knowledgeable in that era. I should also note that while I highlight single aspects as areas they're better than others at, it does not mean they are weak in other aspects like their economy or military (they wouldn't be one of the three powers otherwise)
Fire:
The Fire Nations in this time period has been split into two by two claimants to the position of Fire Lord. The first of the two "Lords" is Osha, the first-born Prince of the previous Fire Lord, who had came to power with strong support from his sisters, the Princesses Alia and Ashu. His claim to the position is arguably stronger than the latter "Lord" due to his bloodline. However, the other "Lord", Zaiyin, makes up for the lack of direct legitimacy with a more significant network of associates and affiliations within the government. A large number of the Fire Nation's ministers and generals had pledged their allegiance to him, making him the more powerful of the two - albeit slightly.
Air:
Air Nomads in this era are generally the pirates of the sky. Free-spirited and unrestrained, they disregard most laws of the land, making them a menace to most other nations and kingdoms. While there are some that behave like the traditional air nomads depicted in The Last Airbender, these are still the minority - albeit marginally. The traditional air nomads are led by a prominent monk named Pashang while the rest of the air-benders generally have no distinct leadership. They, however, never stray too far from the traditional mountains belonging to the air benders.
Characters:
Name: Nanzing
Age: 14
Gender: Male

Firebending (3 out of 10)
Weapons: (If any) Two dual-swords (1 out of 10)-He has only begun to train in the sword recently.

His family was of the regular citizens of the kingdom and due to his parents' station in life, Nanzing didn't have a lot of things growing up. As the second oldest son, what his parents did have went to his older brother and sister. Nanzing learned that he had to work hard for what he wanted in life. Nanzing had his maternal uncle though who took the child under his wing and provided for the boy what his parents wouldn't. When an airbending raid on the kingdom killed his parents, Nanzing moved in with his uncle while his brother and sister went to live with their grandfather.
Although Nanzing would miss his sister, who always took the time to help him with homework when he was having trouble, he certainly doesn't miss his older brother who often acted highly due to being the heir of the family. It was only after Nanzing's parents had died that he found out part of the reason his father didn't treat him well was because the man Nanzing thought to be his father was really his stepfather. His real father had gotten Nanzing's mother with child and then left her when she was pregnant. Since finding out that information, it explained a lot for Nanzing as to his upbringing and is hurt by his mother not telling him this before she was killed.
Nidhug-It had four short stocky legs with a thin tail whose tip was covered by white fur on either side. Two pointed ears appeared on its head, a pair of nubs on its head which were undeveloped horns that would appear by the dragon's adolescence, ivory white claws on each of its four paws. Its wings were forest green like the top of its body, including its legs, the entire body covered in scales. Fur went down the top of the skull to its neck and then along its tail with fur sticking out the side of its cheeks. It had a long neck with a large head and the bottom of its body was pale green...the exact colors of the egg.

Full name: Chaman-Zhao
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Perhaps the most definitive appearance trait Chaman wears is the smile on his face which he most always has, save for when he's in a dire situation (And even then, he may be smiling nervously). He has a typical black, sleeveless, high-collar Earth-nation outfit with matching slacks. He wears olive-green fingerless gloves and boots of a matching color. Occasionally he can also be seen wearing a brown sand-bender scarf to conceal his face up to his nose, should the need for it arise.
Nationality: Earth
1) Earth bending (7)
2) Sand bending (7)
3) Acrobatics (8)
4) Seismic Sense (2)
Childhood:
Chaman always had a smile on his face. Even in the darkest and dirty of alleyways one might find when venturing into the more poverty-stricken neighborhoods on Ba Sing Se. The first thirteen years of his life could be considered to be unspectacular. For the most part, he had a typical childhood for one his age. Like much of the population, he was raised in a small house. As an only child, he was cared for by a loving mother who worked in a low-class tea house as an assistant while he went to school and played in the streets with a small gang of friends when outside of school. He didn't have a big house, but at least he had a home and he might not have a father, but at least he had a mother, he supposed. That was enough to keep him happy.
Perhaps most exciting for him during this time was spent in Master Shu's training academy. Truthfully, it wasn't much of an academy. Just an elderly Earth-bending army captain and a group of street kids in a fairly open space outside the old man's house. It wasn't much, but Master Shu was a kind man who believed in preparing the next generation in the only way he knew how: Combat. Arms bruised, legs sore, clothes dirtied but spirits high, the street kids, including Han, eventually learned the basics of Earth-bending. While he was never spectacular at it, Master Shu would always insist that Han (and the others) had boundless potential with their youth. It was here Han realized his love for bending and combat.
Life was simple and good. Until his mother became sick. Not having any money for a doctor and not being able to work, Han was put in a predicament. Suddenly he was granted the responsibilities of an adult. But how is a little street kid supposed to make money in Ba Sing Se? There was only one answer and soon after he found himself running with a local street gang with his cousin where petty thievery was a favorite activity. Chaman hated every moment of it. But he needed the money to support his bed-ridden mother. Money came his way, but apparently it would come too slowly, as the illness had spread too much already for the doctor to be of any help. The only decision left was for where to send the thirteen-year-old Chaman. Wanting for him to avoid the street-gang life that was all too common in their neighborhood and to keep his precious happiness, his mother requested he be sent to his uncle in sun-rise oasis.
Sun-rise Oasis:
Arriving at the desert town of Sun-Rise Oasis, Chaman had no idea what to expect. He knew his uncle was an incredibly wealthy merchant who owned most properties in the town and an air-bending expert to boot. Eventually he was taken to his uncle's estate, the biggest building in the whole town. Immediately he discovered that his uncle was an air-bender, once a nomad, now married to an Earth bender wife who both had many children Chaman's own age. He would live comfortably on the large estate with his aunt, uncle and cousins. For the first time in his life, Chaman had a comfortable, luxurious lifestyle. For a while he grieved his mother's loss, but eventually he came around and began to smile once more. True to the town's name, the sun began to shine on him once more. He was cared for well and found his character greatly appreciated amongst his family and the townspeople, apparently due to his humble nature and appreciative.
Over the next four years, Chaman was given private tutelage along with his cousins where he learned much more about the world through study. He also had first-hand experience with witnessing air-bending culture and beliefs. However, perhaps most important to him was being surrounded by a large multi-cultural family of air-benders and Earth-benders, he was able to continue learning bending. He was given guidance on basic and advanced principles of bending by his expert air-bender uncle and also taught of the path to enlightenment and mediation as part of air-bending culture. However, guidance in bending was limited with both having different elements, despite being related.
That was, until a stroke of genius on Chaman's behalf, he noticed one day, while watching a band of sand-benders transport goods, that some principles of air-bending might work with sand-bending. Immediately he successfully begged local sand-benders to teach him. Once he mastered the basics, within his small bubble where he lived among air-bending and Earth-bending culture, he began to apply air-bending principles to Earth-bending, thus creating an entirely unique style of bending alongside the traditional Earth-bending he was learning.
Eventually, it was revealed to Chaman that his uncle, was actually his father's brother and his father was part of an air-bending pirate crew and hadn't been seen for years. Han didn't care so much like one might expect. He wasn't one to sulk on negatives and instead focused on appreciating the family he had.
After four years, Chaman decided it was time to return home to Ba Sing Se. He could've stayed in his life of luxury, but he wanted to see the world he had studied so much about.
Now:
Three months after returning back to Ba Sing Se, Han began to plan his adventure. Since arriving he joined the local fight-scene to indulge in his love of bending. He became known as 'The Sandy-Hurricane-Chaman' and has since become a fan favorite some denizens of the city.

Name: Nanuq
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Nationality: Water bender (comes from an earth village)
Skills:
Judo is 6
Water bending is 4
Taming animals 4
Herbs and how to use it for medicine 3
Healing 2
Weapons: He uses a staff from time to time but averagely uses his hands. He also has a jug filled with water on his back so he has a source of water to bend at all times.
Background:
Nanuq lived in the outskirts of an earthen city, in the rural area. This part of the area he lived in had nothing but shacks here and there, each run down and near ruin. Around them was water that came from the city, not all completely dirty but still not fully safe to swim in. This is where he grew since he was a baby, living with his mother and father, both who were practical barbarians. Neither knew basic manners, or had any decency, and each were practically part of a street gang. Living in a tough situation made the two strong and they wanted their baby to be even stronger. Though this wasn't completely the case when Nanuq came to the earth. One thing that was noted about him was... He was different.
To start, his eyes were of two colors his right eye was so blue no gem could compare to it, while his left eye silver not white or clear, but a glistening silver and his hair... It was pure white from the moment of his birth. The eyes and hair were a complete shock to Nanuq's parents. They feared something was wrong with the baby, maybe a sickness had happened to the youngster when still in the womb. These eyes and odd hair were simply a defect. Due to their worry for the child they had gone to see a local doctor. One who didn't know what to say as he had never seen a case like this in all his years. Unable to find anyone to help, the parents and three-year-old Nanuq (who was a bit of a fragile boy) stumbled upon an old priestess. A waterbender on a journey to see everything the world had to offer. It was this woman who helped them understand what was going on with their boy.
Nanuq wasn't sick, not anymore that is. When he was still in the womb he was actually very close to death on an occasion. As something had gone wrong when the mother took injury during the pregnancy. Ever so close to death he was, however he never greeted it. That was because a spirit, a kind, loving and curious spirit was watching over the family. Yes, his family was nothing more than some ruffians who lived in some crappy houses. But it was because of this that the spirit had such interest in the family. Never had the spirit shown itself to them, mainly because they couldn't see the small thing. And if they could they would be on their knees thanking it. As this spirit had saved Nanuq life, giving it a bit of its power, it was able to give the boy and the mother some more energy to get by this and have a healthy birth with only the boy showing the signs of the help.
The priestess explained this to the couple and the parents, well despite the evidence they didn't believe it. After all who would believe the story of a spirit saving some random child? They certainly didn't... Nanuq on the other hand completely did. He was thrilled to hear these stories and whenever he could he would go to this old woman and ask her millions of questions about this one spirit. Some she could answer others she couldn't. The curious child however didn't care if all the quests were answered he just needed to ask them. The child grew on the woman and she decided to stick around for a while just to help him out, slightly worried the boy would take the wrong path when growing up. After all, with parents like his as role models well, there was reason for worry.
As Nanuq grew up he could be found with the old woman all the time, as she was just a fountain of information. The influence she had on him was great, and it grew even more when he turned 6 and displayed his first water bending technique. It was then the woman began to train him how to water bend. Being young he needed a lot of practice, though he was a quick learner and soaked everything he could from her up. Not only did she teach him how to use water bending but she also taught him ways of a priest. Though he wasn't fully interested in this, it is obvious from the way he dresses and acts he took a lot of influence form it.
However there reached a point in his life where he decided he needed to learn more than what his small town could offer. At first, he ignored the desire to explore, but at the age of 16 he couldn't ignore it any longer. Telling his parents and his mentor, he was shocked when they let him go. He expected there to be a shouting match but really in the end they were all surprised he waited this long to tell them. So, several months before his birthday, his mentor gave him her staff, his parents gave him supplies. And he went on a journey to find a sense of self and to simply learn about his life even more, or to see if there was any purpose in the small spirit saving him.
