CHAPTER II…
"Is that who I think it is?" Sakura whispered quietly, putting a finger on her chin as she gestured secretly to a raven haired boy with green eyes, glasses resting on the bridge of his nose.
Sasuke nodded nonchalantly. "Yes. If you think that is the famed Harry Potter, then yes."
"His eyes are green! Just like mine!" swooned Sakura, her eyes dreamy, just as her ankle-length hair flowed elegantly behind her even when there was no wind at all.
"Sakura, stop it. It's not working anymore this time for me," groaned Sasuke as he turned back, ready to enter the tent once more. "I'll be inside the tent if you need me."
He turned to Sakura, a menacing look on his face, that it was finally able to automatically stop her hair magically floating.
"Woah! That's Harry Potter?!" Naruto exclaimed, then scratched the nape of his neck. "Now don't get me wrong, but the guy looks like he'll be good enough to be off to St. Mungo's after a good hex!"
"For once, Dickless, I agree with you," stated Sai monotonously, sketching with a charcoal pencil on his sketch pad. On his side was a piece of French bread which he used to erase some of the part on his sketch.
Naruto bristled in anger. "Don't call me that!"
"Boys, don't fight," but Sakura only sighed as she caught sight of Naruto and Sai pulling each other's faces, Sai's sketchbook lying a few feet away from them safely. She turned to Sasuke who was levitating a tray with teas and cakes while reading a new edition of "Spells: A Guide to Dark Magic" by Hebi Orochimaru, who was also their creepy Potions teacher. But she had to admit that he was darn good at Dark Magic.
"Earl Grey Tea? It's fresh from the producer," he offered as he raised his cup, seeing her look at him.
"No. I've had enough pumpkin juice for lunch," she admitted, standing up and smoothed the creases on her dress robes and her hair, then grabbed her wand and put it into a compartment hidden in the sleeves of her robes.
"Are you sure? What about the cake? It's mocha and has foam icing. Your favourite," he added, pushing his reading glasses further onto the bridge of his nose.
"No. I might've had too much desserts from lunch too," she answered as she magically enchanted her hair to braid itself. "But I'll have to check on my aunts and cousins. Are you sure you're not coming along?"
Sasuke shook his head and took a bite of his cake. "No. I might as well watch these two idiots. Who knows they won't burn this tent when they start firing hexes to one another?"
"All right. Good luck handling those two!"
"Come back before the game. I don't want to hear Naruto's ramblings, [1]arasseo?"
"Hai, see you!"
::
Their lovely voices were just as enchanting and dazzling as usual, still able to lull unlucky seafarers that had come across their territories. Sakura noted this when she entered a clearing invisible even to wizards.
"How fare thee!" greeted the rosette as she walked by the stone steps at the edge of the shore, attracting the many attention of the tailed creatures in the clearing.
"How fare thee, Sakura!" chirped the lovely maidens that were rested on the flat rocks that protruded above the water, combing their hairs with their one hand and the other holding a mirror. Some were playing the harps and flutes while the others were singing
"Sakura! How happy am I that you took some time to visit us!" chirped Lucinda as she rose from the water. She grabbed Sakura by her hand and gently urged her to join them in the water. "Come and join us!"
"With pleasure!" answered the pinkette as she stripped down until she was bare naked. This was a secret place, only accessible to her and the mermaids, so she had nothing to worry about being seen naked, even if it were mermen. She dived onto the crystal clear water and felt her two legs conjoin to form a tail, then next were her hands that had become webbed and so were her ears.
Sakura plopped onto the nearest flat rock she could find and rested in there, before Genevieve, an elder cousin of her cousin who was a half French sat beside her, carrying a mirror. "Your hair iz very beautiful," she told her as she handed her the mirror. Sakura gave her smile of thanks and took the mirror with her hand. "Vould you let me comb it?"
"I would greatly appreciate it," answered Sakura just as Genevieve's webbed hands started working on her hair.
That was why three hours later, she returned to her tent, slightly damp, but with a fantastic braid decorating her already dried her hair as she had used a hot air charm on it.
On her way, she bumped into the person she had least expected. When she looked up, she saw a family of blondes wearing the same arrogant looks. She smiled softly and curtseyed, bowing her head a little. "I am truly sorry for my carelessness. It won't happen again," she told them, making sure to flash the emblem on her right breast.
Almost immediately, when the elder blonde male spotted her emblem, he returned a courteous smile. Ahh, purebloods of England, such ego, sighed the pinkette. "Ahh, no. It is partly our fault too, Miss…"
She didn't want to give her name to them. And so, she almost cried in glee when Sasuke arrived with Kai, a house elf of the Uchiha household, and Misty, a house elf of the Haruno household.
"It is a pleasure meeting you. But I must go. My friend is already waiting for me," and dashed hurriedly to where Sasuke was.
Sasuke, having already spotted her, sighed and closed the book he was reading. "About time you came back. Come on, the competition is almost starting," as he ushered her inside the tent, Naruto and Sai came back inside the tent, panting, grime covering almost the whole of their faces, their Firebolts in one hand. Sai was sporting a spectacularly bloody face while Naruto's right arm was slightly twisted.
"Oh my! What happened, you two?" Sakura gasped, taking a good look at their battered form.
Beside her, Sasuke snorted. "They wouldn't stop, so I sent them with their brooms outside."
"That's so mean, Sasuke! That's not how Elites should act to their friends!" she backtracked, taking notice of his snort from earlier. "And we don't snort either!"
Sasuke made a shooing motion at her with his free hand, his eyes returning to read in his book. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. Go change. You too, Naruto and Sai. Get those injuries healed."
"Bastard! You were the one who caused th-"
A thick dictionary was sent flying to Naruto's face.
::
"Sensei!" Sakura cheered as they spotted an all-too-familiar blob of gravity defying silver hair with an eyepatch and mask covering the majority of his face, her hair magically floating again. "How fare thee!"
"Hello, uncle," came Sai's monotonous greeting once he spotted the silverhead.
Hatake Kakashi looked up from his orange book, giving an eye-closed smile as he spotted Sakura's floating and blinding pink hair and waved back. "Better than ever, Sakura, and hello to you too, Sai. Are you here to watch the game, too?"
"Hai! Mikoto-sama had specifically requested top boxes seat for us near the Japanese Prime Minister! I couldn't be any happier!" she answered gleefully, her hair one again pulsating. "How about you, sensei? Where is your seat?"
Kakashi rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Ahh. I'm one of the Aurors they requested to guard the auditorium. I'll be patrolling the whole game outside so I won't be able to watch it," he rubbed Sakura's head, the latter purring with the affection she was given. "But don't worry about me and just enjoy the game, okay?"
"How cruel to your wife, sensei!" Sakura sighs dramatically. "I hear she's in her second month of pregnancy."
He gave her a deadpan stare. "Sakura, I can assure you that I did not desert your aunt to wallow in the miseries of pregnancy and that she gave me permission to travel here," at Sakura's bashful smile, he finished with an eye-closed smile then turned to Naruto and Sai, who were both sporting a bruise in their right cheek that could hardly be seen and gave them both a pointed stare.
"And you two should stop fighting over the least of things. You're not kids anymore. Okay?" he was answered by two nods.
"But he always starts it first!" the two answered in sync.
Kakashi scratched his chin, as if thinking of something then turned to them. "Here's a condition: if you don't fight for the whole game, I'll buy Sai the new art set you always wanted to buy since its release and I'll treat Naruto to an eat-all-you-can ramen?"
Sai and Naruto brightened up. "All right, dattebayo! You're the best Kakashi-sensei!/Sounds fair to me," then they heard an almost inaudible, "… even though you're a perv."
"Kakashi-senpai! It's our turn to patrol!" they heard a voice shout from a distance.
Kakashi turned to them, waving a hand. "Ja ne, enjoy the game."
"Bye, sensei!"
After Kakashi left, Sakura turned to the three of them, whose hair has stopped magically floating, pouting. "The top boxes seat are on the very top of the stadium!" to which Sasuke replied with, "Of course they're on top. They aren't called Top boxes seat for nothing."
Naruto hit his shoulder. "Teme! Don't be so mean to Sakura-chan!"
"It's a long way up there, and there are many people. We'll be deflated the minute we get there," Sai continued. "It's gonna be exhausting."
"Ahh!" Naruto exclaimed. "Then… " he hit his open palm with the bottom of his closed fist. "Ryuu!" a house elf then appeared by his side. It was one of the house elves of the Uzumaki Household. "What can Ryuu do for the young master?" the elf croaked with a gruff voice.
"Could you get our brooms back at the tent? We need them to get up there."
Ryuu bowed low. "Anything for the young master," then it disappeared with a resounding crack.
Sasuke stared at Naruto, his eyes as if they were scrutinizing him. "When did you start to grow a brain, dobe?"
Naruto grew an imaginary tic, waving his fist in front of Sasuke's face. "Teme, I've always had a brain!"
And just before Naruto could tackle Sasuke which would send the two of them down the stadium, Sakura flashed out her wand, "Immobulus," she calmly chanted. "Come now, Naruto. It wouldn't do well for the other purebloods here to see us acting so… disorganized. Let's iron our attitudes for a bit, shall we?" she offered a small smile seeing his pout.
Naruto turned his head the other way, his nose stuck out in the air. "Fine, just for this time."
::
Sakura was sleeping soundly in her own bed when Sasuke roughly shook her up. "-kura?! Sakura! Wake up!" she heard him hiss. She opened her eyes and squinted as he held the lamp a bit too close to her taste.
"Sasuke? What is it? I'm tired," she yawned to emphasize her point, "Can this not wait for tomorrow?" she asked him, grabbing her hair that was strewn in the floor. Sakura gave a surprised yelp when Sasuke abruptly grabbed her arm and practically dragged her out from her bed.
"There's no time! We need to hurry!" she heard him hiss as he literally kicked Naruto and Sai out of their beds. The two groaned as they rubbed their sore heads and backs. "Hurry up and get your asses into high gear! We need to leave here, ASAP!"
"But I'm still in my nightgown!" Sakura shrieked, spreading her arms to emphasize that she was still wearing her long-sleeved and knee-length coral nightgown. Sasuke hastily threw her a dark green coat which she wore. It was then she noticed that there were screaming outside. She turned to look at Sasuke fearfully. "Sasuke, what's going on?!"
Sasuke put his wand into the compartment under their sleeves. They did the same thing. "Death Eaters. They're rummaging throughout the whole area. We've gotta go. NOW."
At this, they all fled outside the tent, Sakura just finishing by the skin of her teeth to cast a charm on her hair to braid itself. "This is total chaos!" Sakura shouted, just in time to deliver a shield charm to an attack that was aimed near her.
"Gah! Can't summon anything either with this large amount of people stampeding!" Sai replied, grabbing her hand and pulled her out of the way just as a stupefying hex was delivered to her.
She smiled at him. "Thanks," to which he replied with a nod. "Come on! We need to get outta here!" it was then they noticed that Naruto and Sasuke were nowhere in sight. "Have you seen Sasuke or Naruto?"
Sai managed to conceal a shocked face. "Doushite? Don't you see them?" he tiptoed a little to try to get a glimpse of them, but alas, no luck, they did not catch a glimpse of Sasuke nor Naruto. "They ditched us," he stated blankly. A Death Eater blindly charges at their direction. Sakura grabs Sai's hand absentmindedly and dashes off towards a random direction.
They kept running through the trees, until they weren't sure of where they were already. "Oh this is stupid – Lumos!" the tip of Sakura's wand lit up, and Sai followed suit. "Should we send a signal?" she turned to Sai.
Sai shook his head. "No, it's better to lay low until this is all over. The Death Eaters might find us here if we do send up the signal."
"You watch your mouth!" they heard a voice shout. Sai and Sakura fastened their pace to go where they heard the voice.
"Nevermind, Ron," another said quickly. There came a bang from the other side of the trees that was louder than anything they had heard. Several people nearby screamed.
Another chuckled softly. "Scare easily, don't they?" he said lazily. "I suppose your daddy told you all to hide? What's he up to – trying to rescue the Muggles?"
"Where're your parents?" said another, Sakura can feel his temper rising. "Out there wearing masks, are they?"
Sakura took the time to intervene with the group. "Uh… excuse me?" they turned their heads to the source of the voice. "Do you know where the direction back to the camp is? My friend and I lost two of ours back at the riot."
Oh, it's the girl from earlier, thought Harry, fighting the urge to blush. Now that he got a better look at her face, he realized one thing. She was gorgeous. "U-Ummm, no. W-We're actually kinda lost too."
Sakura fought the urge to sigh disappointedly as she and Sai bid the group of teenagers goodbye and walked further along the woods. Just as she was about call her house elf, another figure entered the clearing. "Sakura?" asked the figure, surprise evident in his tone.
Sakura's hair pulsated and once again magically floated as she turned to the direction to its source. There, they saw a chestnut-haired male holding his lit wand before him.
Sai smiled a little and bowed at them. "Asano-san. How fare thee?"
Asano and smiled and bowed in return to them. "Good. Though I can't help but notice that Uzumaki and Uchiha-san aren't with you?"
"We lost them back at the stampede a while ago. We have no idea where they are right now," answered Sakura, her hair stopping its pulsations.
Asano put a finger on his chin and then smiled. "Well, how about we stick together for now? I actually lost my min – friends, halfway here."
Sai and Sakura sweatdropped. You were about to say 'minions', weren't you?
"Sure, why not?"
::
Naruto and Sasuke were pacing in frustration inside a tent in a clearing. Naruto was chewing his nails while Sasuke was crossing his arms.
"This is it. This is the end!" wailed Naruto, dropping in the ground with his hands over his head. "What if they were captured by the Death Eaters?! How could we not notice Sakura-chan and Sai not with us?"
"Naruto," Sasuke sighed. "Look, we're all trying to be calm here. But we can't, because you know why?" he glared at him. "Because of you and your panicking rambles!" he was panicking, of course that was expected. Two of his friends just got lost from them in the middle of a Death Eater invasion, thank you very much.
Finally, Kakashi stood up and put his palm atop Naruto's spiky blonde hair. "Look here Naruto. More or less, Sakura and Sai are both safe," he told the panicking blonde.
Naruto looked up from his buried face. "Really? How can you say that?"
Sasuke scoffed. "Well, it does make sense. I mean, Death Eaters only hate Muggles. It could be possible that they're only here to take out the Muggle-borns," then he hung his head low and muttered in a much quieter voice, "Well, if they even know that Sakura and Sai are Purebloods, anyway."
Once again, Naruto screamed. "Gah! So you're telling me they really are doomed right now?!"
"Naruto, shut up!"
"What in the bloody name of Merlin?!" an Auror shouts, looking at the sky. Curious, they followed his gaze and cursed: The Dark Mark. You-Know-Who's mark. Voldemort's mark, which only made Naruto shout louder than ever.
"We're doomed!"
Sasuke, having enough with Naruto's shouts, grabs Naruto's wand and flicked his into several motions. "Silencio!"
Naruto, without his wand, only sent Sasuke the middle finger.
::
"Ara, ara, Naruto," Sakura chuckled, patting the still wailing blond whose tears managed to soak a portion of her thick jacket down to her nightdress. "Stop crying now. I mean, most of us would've done the same mistake. You know? Adrenaline rush."
Naruto paused in between his sobs and sniffles, looking up at Sakura in his bright red and puffy eyes. "Sure? You really aren't mad at me, Sakura-chan?"
Beside them, Sai snorted after drinking from his water bottle. "Well, of course it's not something to be mad at," he gave the two of them a smile, which was where a stink eye was actually secretly sent, "I mean, the worst that could happen was us getting hit by the Killing Spell, right?"
Sasuke glared at Sai. It was no secret he was guilt tripping him. "And besides, it's not like Sakura-chan will be taken away after they learn of her heritage, riiight?"
Naruto wailed louder after hearing Sai's remark. Sasuke gave his full-blown yet-still-underdeveloped Uchiha glare at him, which, unfortunately but expectedly was only brushed off by him. "Sai, stop it. Can't you see? You're making it worse."
Kakashi peeked from outside of the tent and went inside, grimacing as he spotted Sai's fairly large gash running from his mid-calf to his knee. "It was a good thing the two of you didn't send up a signal, though. The Death Eater's might've seen it but…" he looked at the three long scratches that were on Sakura's right arm. "… looks like things were bad for you."
Sakura waved her arms dismissively. "Please don't worry, Kakashi-sensei. It'll heal up right away!" it was true, the gash were looking fainter and fainter by the minute. "Though I'm not sure with Sai over there," she gestured at Sai who hissed violently as a mediwitch layered an ointment on his bleeding leg.
"Gah! Don't let the dropper touch the wound! Do you know how much it hurts?!" he screamed at the mediwitch, who, unfortunately, was a Mudblood. They really didn't have anything against Muggle-borns, but that didn't mean they weren't harsh to them. Especially to someone who had skills worth eating shit for two years straight.
Sai wrenched his leg out of the feeble sorry excuse of a mediwitch and made a 'shoo' motion with his right hand. "Get your pathetic excuse of an ass out, mudblood. Even a dog knows how to do it right," the mediwitch glared at the ground, apparently not having anything to say back.
Well, her fault anyway. If she had spent as much time on training as the time she spent on doing her hair, it wouldn't have to be this way.
"Leave us, Lockwood," came her gentle voice. Lockwood bit her lip in obvious shame. "I'll take care of Sai's wound," though it didn't actually show on her face and voice, it was obvious Sakura was looking down at her.
Lockwood exited the tent, but not before bowing in front of the four, who were obviously, graciously attended by their own house elves. Misty was doing Sakura's hair while Yuu, Sai's house elf, Kai and Ryuu were massaging their masters. It was just sort of unfortunate house elves doesn't know how to tend wounds because well… they only manage houseworks.
"Well, that was necessarily useless. Calling for her, I mean," Sasuke remarked, propping his feet up on the other end of the couch and laid his head on the armrest.
"No worries about that," Sakura sauntered over to Sai's location and placed a glowing green hand over his wound. The gash closed up leaving a red blistering skin in its wake. Sakura reached out for the ointment in the table and poured some of it in her hand, then layered it on top of the red skin. "Feeling better?"
Sai nodded. "Yeah. Lockwood's felt like she was squeezing lemon into my wound," and watched her work perfectly on the bandages.
Sakura gestured to his well bandaged calf. "There, all done!"
Sai gently twitched his calf and smiled at her. "Thanks."
Sakura's hair pulsates because of her mermaid heritage. I got this idea after sulking of my Research class because I got no grade for my 2nd quarter. I know, sucks right? Especially when I still have no idea of what to use as a title for my thesis that is easy yet helpful.
Oh hey, if you ever have an idea about a Thesis title, just PM me and tell me about it, 'kay? I would really love to hear your opinion right now.
So back to business, and no, not the mermaids you saw at Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie whose faces were real ugly… no offense. These mermaids are called "Humanoid Mermaids," the mermaids we often hear in fairytales. Although in here, I added the whole webbed hands and ears like what happened to Harry after he ate the Gillyweed, because obviously, they needed to resemble fishes also.
About the combing and mirror thing of mermaids, I saw that when I once looked them up in Google. They kind of hold a mirror with one hand while the other is holding a brush for their hair. That's how they depict mermaids in Greek Mythology.
Another thing, also, yes, this isn't just a mere Naruto x Harry Potter crossover fanfic. As you have seen, there's also Kuroko no Basuke, and yes, the 'Asano' character you have read when Sakura and Sai were lost in the woods, is really Gakushuu Asano from Assassination Classroom. If I were to be honest with you guys, I think this will be an anime x-over fanfic, but of course, Naruto is the main anime.
And dun, dun, dun! O.O Kakashi has a wife! Review your guesses on who she is.
Sai, speaking of him, I didn't make his personality like the canon because he's Kakashi's nephew. Besides, there's no evil ROOT and Damzo who's gonna kidnap him and turn him to an emotionless soldier and make him kill his brother-figure, Shin.
I won't mould Naruto characters exactly like how they were in the canon. Oh no, since this is my story, I'll mould them exactly like how I want them to be… O.O Did I sound like a bitch there?
But to make it short, it will mainly be following the 4th book of Harry Potter; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
They can also use magic outside of school because they are of another jurisdiction.
