A/N:;: Welcome back to the story! I went back and checked the previous update, and realized that it has been a long time. Luckily for you guys I'm devoted to finishing my work, which means I'm going to hit you all in the feels and make you wanna die!

But that's just the usual.

Enjoy!

(Yeah... I totally don't own the Avengers or Thor.)

Loki POV

I am positive that the spell will work, although since I am not there I will not be able to see it come to light. I told Thor that if he wished for me to help him, then he needed to return Anna to me first, only then would I be willing to help him. He tried to reason with me, Thor knew that I was grief stricken and filled with guilt for both our mother and Anna. If I could take back everything that I have done, or if I could manage to go back in time and make sure I never met that child, I would.

But unfortunately, Fate does not like to play games.

As I pace in my cell I begin to let my mind wander back to that time, the time when she was just a child. I promised to make her a queen, she was my entire world. I did not quite understand back then why I wanted to see the child smile, but I just did. It was not love until I came to see her again, just years later whenever I was able to visit Midgard again. I did not make my presence known to her, she seemed happier without me. It made my blood boil to know that she could have happiness without me, her best friend, her only friend. Maybe that is why I had tried to follow through with making her become my queen, or maybe it was truly my intention all along. Too bad it never came true.

My eyes snap open as I hear the noises of guards walking by, staring at me through the prison with nothing but hatred. Although, they did seem slightly amused to see me so disoriented and upset over mothers death. If I ever do get out of this prison, I will show them real fear.

Then a new noise come to me, one that it both pathetic and yet so satisfying. I can hear her whispering my name, telling me how sorry she is. I know this voice, and I know that the only reason I can hear it is because she is crossing into the world of the living.

My eyes shut once again, and I cannot help but chuckle deeply. Thor had managed to make a deal that would ensure the return of my beloved, giving me the chance to make things right.

This time I will make sure nothing harms her.

This time I will do things that right way, and nobody can stop me.

Anna POV

My eyes open to a tunnel of darkness, but at the end of that darkness lays a sparkling green light. I crawl towards it, the walls around me beginning to close in and crush my body. By the time I reach the light it is too bright for me to see, blinding my sight. It is not until the light dims that I am able to see who is there.

I am right at Thor's feet, looking up at him while my eyes try to adjust to the new lighting. I feel him drape something over my body, becoming acutely aware of the fact that I was naked just moments ago. As a blush begins to dust over my cheeks I take notice of where I am.

There are pained, shrilling screams coming from the distance, and the sounds of chains rattling coming from even closer than that. The walls around us seem to be oozing with dark, thick blood. Above that fire is lit up in the sky, making it look like the two of us should be burning like crisps right at this moment. The ground beneath us is made out of the remains of humans, Gods, and who knows what else. When my eyes finally reach the arch of the room, I come to see a woman who is neither beautiful or hideous.

One side of her looks as though it has gone through severe burns, and the other side looks like the kind of flawless all girls want. Even the woman's eyes are different, one looking coal black while the other is a sea foam green. I nearly lost myself in studying her features, before feeling Thor pick me up off of the ground.

"Hel, I am sure that your father will repay you well for this favor." Thor grumbles, although from my standing I can tell that he does not look too happy about this. I am confused until the woman, Hel, begins to speak.

"He needs not repay me for bringing back such a simple wench. May their children suffer the curse that all of us must." Her voice is soft, yet at the same time has an edge of roughness to it. "Loki will burn, soon, anyhow."

It suddenly clicks in my mind that she is the daughter of Loki, Hel, the queen of the underworld. My chest throbs at the mere mention of his name, although I do become angry when I remember what he did to my father. There are some things that I am not so willing to forget, and that was one of them. I am about to ask her a question when I come to realize that my voice is not working, confusing me even further.

My eyes trail up to Thor as he begins to walk away from the morbid throne room, worry in my eyes. I cannot speak, and I have appeared within the underworld. I am trying to remember how I got here in the first place, but my mind draws a blank. For me to have shown up here, and especially in the way that I did, I would have had to have been dead. Yet, I do not remember dying at any point, so what happened?

"Do not worry, Anna, whatever Loki is planning I will keep you from it." Loki? Before I can even attempt to use my voice again he speaks. "Heimdall, take us home." He calls out, and moments later I am gripping into his armor for dear life as we are transported through dimensions. It does not take us long to reach a place so beautiful, so non-fiction that I have no other word to describe it. I grip the cloth that is keeping my body covered tightly to myself, letting my feet gently touch the ground as Thor sets me down.

Only to have me collapse just seconds later.

"It seems as though you have not regained your strength yet, it may take time. The sacrifice I had to offer for you was not the best." Thor remarks, keeping one arm around my waist to help me walk. Sacrifice? They needed a sacrifice to get me back? My head is still trying to whirl around all the facts, making me feel a little more ill than I should probably be at the moment. I would expect Loki to pull something like this, but Thor? He didn't seem like the type to take a life for a life.

As we walk through what I assume is Asgard I let my eyes follow the stunning patterns, the artistic styles of the buildings. If humans ever managed to be this creative, then I would be surprised. Arches are built above the highest of buildings, colors are correctly collaborated with their matching partners - this is like the fairy-tail land that I used to want as a child.

"T-Th.. Th-" I attempt to speak, this time managing to get some kind of noise out. But it doesn't seem to carry in volume, because he does not turn to face me. Soon we cut out of the long paths, turning down a darker alley that reveals destructions and depression, feeling a twinge of sadness in my heart. Buildings are broken down, some families are scrounging through rubble to find their belongings - or dead family members. I have to turn my head away to avoid the gruesome sight.

"We are almost there." He says, although it's more to himself than to me. He seems eager to reach our destination, like it's the last piece of the puzzle that he needs to solve his dilemma. I know the feeling, personally, but I do wish that he would tell me what is going on. The death in the air, the fact that he and Loki conspired to bring me back from the dead...

What is the point? I am useless in this situation.

The two of us finally stop when we reach a wall, and as his hand pushes against it a doorway appears. We walk through the doorway, and when I look back I find it disappearing on its own. I have now regained most of my balance, leaving me able to walk on my own without the worry of falling on my ass. The walls are darker in this place, colder, making it harder for me see or breathe. Thor seems to be doing just fine from here, which must mean that it is just a mortal thing.

He stops at the edge of the tunnel, moving out of the way and giving me a tiny smile. While I am not sure what it is for, I intend to find out as I walk into the large, debris filled room. My eyes move around until I find a lightly glowing cell towards the entryway, my breath hitching in my throat.

"Hello, Anna."

A/N:;: Okay, so this was more of a filler and quick chapter. But I had to get it in before starting the real stuff, right? Right.

Hope you guys liked it!
