A/N: Thank you for the reviews they really motivate me to keep moving on. This chapter is where stuff starts to change but for the most part right now the story between scenes is the same so assume that if I didn't change it it happened the same way as in the anime or manga (whichever you prefer i finished both).

Allen laid there with his eyes closed. He remembered nothing or rather he remembered dying. He remembered that man destroying his innocence and how if he had been stronger he could've saved Suman. He remembered the hole in his heart. At this thought Allen shot up gripping his chest. 'What!? I'm still alive how?' His chest didn't hurt at least despite the pain all over his body. Allen looked around at his surroundings he was in a room, in a bed; light was shining in through the window from the wall across from him signaling it must be daytime.

It was a standard room that you would find in any rural Chinese home. A sharp pain flew through Allen and he had to lie back down, it seems he shouldn't be sitting up just yet. Where was he? Why didn't his friends come for him? Did they even care he was gone? So many questions swam through his mind and he had no answers, his only certainty was that someone saved him and brought him here and somehow the hole in his heart was healed. The dull pain all over his body was starting to wear down on him he couldn't keep his eyes anymore and he slowly faded back into unconsciousness.

Lenalee couldn't stop the tears running down her face. She couldn't find Allen or Suman. When she returned to the ship there was an old man at the dock telling them that headquarters had told them to move on to Edo with or without Allen. Her only solace was Timcampy, the little gold golem was as sad as she was, but he delivered Suman's Innocence he had done his duty to his master but it knew that one day they would be reunited it could feel Neah's life-force still in the air which meant that Allen was still alive. Lenalee hugged the little golem to her chest praying that God would give her back Allen.

She was happy Miranda was with them now but that didn't ease the pain of knowing she sent Allen to his death. She hugged Tim harder and cried with new tears remembering the last time she saw him; at the heart of the Fallen One telling her to go. She should've gone back, she should've looked harder, longer, so many things she could've done yet she did none of them. All she could do now is pray for Allen to still be alive and to take care of Timcampy until he gets back. The boat rocked back and forth along the sea as if trying to soothe her, and so she sat there crying and hoping, hoping and crying.

Black. Once again Allen saw nothing but black however, he did hear something this time. Voices. His saviors? He struggled to open his eyes and saw who was catering to him. It was a young girl with dark brown hair and brown eyes she wore a simple sundress 'strange for someone in China' noticing his eyes opening she turned and yelled through the doorway. "Mother he's awake. Come mother he's awake!" As she said this another woman appeared in the room who looked like an older version of the young girl connecting the dots Allen assumed it must be the girls mom. "Oh dear, go dampen another washcloth, hurry Lisa." The woman rushed over to the bedside while the girl left the room. "Stay down, your hurt." She told him as he tried to sit up but pain shot through him again and was forced to stay down. "We're friends. Can you understand me?" Allen looked at her through half-lidded eyes nodding weakly his head was pounding as if Lavi was beating him with his hammer.

"Oh, good. Might I ask your name?" Allen struggled for a minute trying to speak. 'So weak I can't even let out a word' The girl came rushing back in handing the cloth to her mother. Allen tried with a little more effort to speak to these two who had saved him "Al - len" The mother put removed the washcloth from his head and applied the new one "My name is Allen." The mother smiled at him a warm genuine smile "My name is Alita and this is my daughter Lisa. You're lucky to be alive if my husband hadn't found while he was looking for survivors you probably would've died." Allen made a weak smile glad to be alive, not so much well but alive "May I – meet him?" The women frowned a little bit at this statement "I'm sorry but he is out right now looking for other survivors and rescuing people from the debris. You'll get to meet him late I assure you but for now rest you'll feel better." Allen didn't refuse rest but he would need to get moving soon demons were probably already on the way.

"Won't go away, won't go away, won't go away!"

"Then scrub harder"

"I am and his name won't go away" Tyki sighed he had already returned to the ark and was not going to go back and confirm that a dead man is dead. Unless that presence he felt saved him. "Lord Allen Walker is alive you must believe me" Tyki continued on to his room ignoring the silly card man. What he wasn't aware of was Road down the hall who overheard everything. 'Allen is still alive' she giggled to herself making a door way appear and skipping through it 'Silly Tyki my Allen can't be killed that easily.' Closing the door to her dream world she began her search for her beloved Allen.

Three weeks had passed since Allen had woken up in Alita's home he had met the man who saved his life, Jorgio. He was very supportive and helped Allen back on his feet. 'They really are a nice family but I have to leave here soon demons are already here.' Allen continued his stroll through the tall bamboo until he heard a voice in the wind. "Aaaaaallllllleeenn. Thiiiis waaay." The voice was coming from his left, was it an exorcist left to find him a part of the Asian branch maybe. He wandered towards the voice it kept compelling him on, saying this way and that way until he reached a clearing in the woods.

His eyes shot open as he realized just where this was the blood splattered leaves on the ground were the obvious sign of where it was. Tyki had killed him here his cards were scattered here still as if there was no wind for the past three weeks, then he realized the mist. There was a shimmering swirling mist around the area. The voice had stopped as Allen walked to the center of his point of death. Despite what this place symbolized it was rather serene. "Pretty isn't it." Allen spun around his eyes landing on the girl before him. Spiky long blue hair, shorter than him, a dress shirt with skirt and stockings, and the seven stigmata and gray skin all too familiar with him. "Road?"

"Hi Allen." Allen shocked by her appearance still remembered the last time they met, his eye twitched with pain at the memory. Putting on a pouting face "Hey, Allen I'm not here to kill you." She giggled to herself "Not yet anyway." Allen let his guard down but he still didn't trust her. "What is this mist?" He asked looking at her with suspicion.

"It's your Innocence." Allen couldn't believe it his looked around noticing it was still gently swirling around. "My … Innocence?" She smiled and started walking towards him "Yup. All yours. Tyki thought he crushed it but it seems to be just fine to me … besides being dust and all." She reached him and pulled him into a hug her head resting over his heart. Allen, shocked by the action, tried to pull away but she just held him tighter. Pouting Road said "You're so mean Allen rejecting my love like that. Besides it's your Innocence that's keeping your heart beating right now."

"What… my Innocence?"

"Yup it fixed up that little hole in your heart." She giggled as she listened to his heart thump way inside his chest. Finally letting go of him she started walking circles around him. "What do you want Road?"

"Right now I want to help you, since you are so cute." Allen blushed swearing to himself that one day this girl will drive him mad. "The Asain branch is to the north they can help you more than that small human family will ever be able to. When you're feeling up to it you can use my doorway to get there." With that a doorway appeared in the center of the clearing. "Why are you helping me Road." She giggled and hugged him from behind this time "I said I like you didn't I. But there is something inside you I like even more." Her voice faded with those last words and as he turned around she was gone but the doorway remained. He guessed he had no choice in the matter.

He went back to Alita's house took his fixed exorcist coat and thanked them for their hospitality and left to find the doorway again. It took him longer this time without Road leading him to it but he eventually found the area. His cards still scattered along the floor he decided he should pick them up its one of the last things he had to remind him of that man, Tyki, and might be his only clue as to finding him again but first he must get back to the Asian branch and tell them about the Innocence mist and regain his Innocence. After gathering all his cards noting his ace of spades was missing he thought of the last word Road said, how there was something inside him that she liked. 'What was she talking about?' shaking his head he stepped through the doorway surprised to find that the Asian branch entrance was right in front of him on the other side.

The door shut behind him and sank into the ground 'Guess there is no going back now.' He stepped up to the large carved wall there were no doors but he was sure it was the entrance. Unless Road had put him on the wrong side. He decided to try his luck "Hello my name is Allen Walker an Exorcist I need your help! Is there anyone there?!" The wall started to spark with electricity as a doll looking girl emerged from the wall. She was a strange looking girl with hands that ended in what looked like covered boxing gloves and purple cloth covering her feet groin and chest but nothing between.

"Don't move or I'll cut you down!" Allen heard someone talking to her through the earpiece she had but couldn't make out what they were saying. "Alright I've been told to take you to the chiefs office … Allen" She said that last part with what Allen would call contempt. Along the way Allen decided it would be best to at least know this guardians name "Fou. Before you ask my name is Fou now stop stalling follow me." And so Allen followed Fou down a large underground base that seemed it would never end. Finally they arrived at a single door as Fou slammed it open she tossed Allen in and left.

"So you are Allen Walker I thought you'd be bigger. I am head director Bak of the Asian Branch you don't know how long we've been looking for you." Allen looked up to see someone that looked a lot like Komui but with short blond hair and no glasses … and no smile. "hehe well I was kind of beat up these past few weeks and…" Bak stood up and walked around his desk intimidating Allen the closer he got "That's beside the point I'm wondering where you arm is." Pointing to Allen's left arm finally catching on to what Bak was staring at Allen quickly answered "Oh, yeah it was destroyed but that's okay because down to the south there is a clearing in the forest where I lost it that has all my Innocence in a swirling mist kind of thing ahehe."

Bak looked astounded at this news "A mist you say. It didn't disappear?" Allen described what had happened (leaving out the parts about Road) and how the Innocence was lost but never dispersed and how it was healing his heart right now. "Well then you're in luck because we have a room we can store you Innocence in and then we will train you to bring it back to where it needs to be … On you left arm." Allen was overjoyed by the news he would finally have his Innocence back. Bak showed him to his temporary quarters and said he would send a team out to retrieve his Innocence. But the last words Road said bugged Allen for the rest of the day and refused to let him sleep. What was in him? And why did she like it?

A/N: thanks for reading if you liked it a review would be much appreciated. Sorry if Bak and Fou weren't exactly in character I never really liked them to be honest and let me know on how you feel about the Road meeting it was sort of a last minute decision to put her in there. Hope you enjoyed until next time fellow readers.
