Darcy and I were walking home from school. Me in my private school uniform and the whole sha-bang. "You're quiet today. Is it about the pictures?"
"Clare! You didn't look at them." She said, embarrassed, mad, and disappointed.
"They were on our computer. If you didn't want me to see them-" I started. It really was her fault.
Darcy stopped walking, turned around and faced me. "Just promise⦠don't ever do something like that, okay?"
"What do you think I am, five?" I said sarcastically.
Just then, a strange man walked up to us. He didn't look like someone from our neighborhood. "Darcy? Hi." He said, then waved to her.
"Who's he?" I asked Darcy, getting scared.
"It's me, Adams!" The man said. Darcy made a face that looked like she was realizing something. The man walked closer.
"Go inside." Darcy quickly said, grabbing my arm, as if something bad were gonna happen and she was trying to shield me from it.
"I don't like this." I told her, grabbing her arm. She insisted I go.
"Go inside." Darcy said, more forceful. I went to the porch, my eyes never leaving Darcy and the strange man.
The man walked over to Darcy and tried to give her a hug, but she backed away from him.
"What are you doing here? How'd you find where I live?" Darcy asked, scared, just like me. I went inside at this point, not wanting to get hurt. But I quickly rushed the the balcony of our room.
Darcy held her hand to her forehead, like she had a head-ache.
"That's a nice bracelet," Said the man getting closer fast.
"Thanks. My boyfriend made it." Darcy backed away just as quickly, and faced me more a brief moment. "9-1-1." She mouthed to me, before turning back around. I rushed to the phone. As soon as I got it, I ran back out to see if anything bad happened. "Hello 911?" I said quietly.
