I'm so thrilled with the response I've gotten! :D Please keep reviewing and favoriting 3 I wanted to answer some questions people had:
1. Fred is the new fourth man in the Mauraders because Wormtail isn't with them anymore. Lily wasn't a marauder; she's just there for James. So, even though there are five people, Fred was the fourth man.
2. Fred didn't recognize his own body because he wasn't expecting to; he assumed he was himself, so anyone else that looked like him had to be George. So, when he did recognize his body, he was like 'omg crap I'm dead wut' but yeah. :D
If anyone has anymore questions, feel free to ask them. I can address them at the beginning of each chapter. For the next couple chapters, I'm gonna talk about their new childhoods~
I am the train conductor. No, not any train conductor; the train conductor. I am the one who drives the train around and around the track; I bring you from your birth to your childhood, from your childhood to your adolescence, from there to your adulthood, to your parenthood, to retirement, to old age, and finally... death. I am the one that will drive the train up and wait for you at King's Cross station; I will wait to see if you want to go around the track again. And if you do not, then I my train is not the train for you; you must wait for a black train that will come after I do.
If you get on my train, you will have the chance to go around again - I will open my doors and we will drive back to the beginning, ready for you to live another life. You will be reborn.
This is the decision that James Potter, Lily Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and Fred Weasley made. They boarded the train without looking at me; no one looks at the train conductor. In a flash of light, a sixth person appeared on the platform, who stared at the train for a moment before climbing aboard to join them. I recognized the man; Severus Snape. They all sat down and I pulled out of the station, powering down the tracks.
"Wizards or muggles?" I asked them. This was the only option they were given about their new lives. They looked around at each other, and then they all grinned at one another.
"Wizards," they each said.
"Very well. Next stop: your new lives," I said. The track zipped by in a blur, whites and greys mixing together outside of the train as we traveled through the limbo between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
"Will we remember this?" Lily asked. She wasn't looking at me, but I knew who the question was for.
"No," I said. "Nor will you be changed by your death. You will be reverted to who you are at your core; your experiences will be gone to make room for new ones. There is no guarantee your next life will be like your last one."
They didn't have any more time for questions before I pulled into the station of the Beginning. The train came to a silent, smooth stop and the doors opened to allow them off the train. I watched them step onto the platform one by one, and I couldn't help but smile; I was the conductor, who brought them through their lives, so I got to watch everything. And these were some of my favorite people to watch. I closed the doors behind them and settled back in my seat, pulling out of the train station. I cycled through the track again, and at the station of the Ending, there was a man waiting for me.
Tom Marvolo Riddle.
I opened the doors and he joined me in the train.
"Wizard or muggle?" I asked him. He looked at me, and I looked back at him; no one had looked at me before. He considered the question, then smiled a cold smile.
"Wizard."
You might think me irresponsible for allowing Tom Riddle on the train to be reborn; but it is not so. First and foremost, it was not my decision to make - I am only the conductor. It was the Overseer's decision and, perhaps more importantly, Mr. Riddle's decision. Secondly, everything that made Tom Riddle evil was circumstantial rather than of his own choosing. He was born into a body that could not feel love; his body was the product of a love potion. It is very hard to choose to be good when all you can feel is hatred. While some of the events were in fact Tom Riddle's fault, many of the decisions he made that led to horrific outcomes were influenced by his birth. By giving Tom Riddle a second chance - or should I say, Tavish Ryder - you will see what was actually Tavish, and what was the monster he was forced to become.
When Tom Riddle stepped off my train and onto the platform, he became Tavish Ryder, son of Marlene and Jenson Ryder. Marlene was a halfblood who went into labor only thirty minutes before my train arrived at the platform, and in another seven hours Tavish Ryder would enter the world, squealing and bloody, into a happy family of wizards. Tavish Ryder had two older siblings who would care for him well in the coming years. But as with all families, it would not be a perfect family; Jenson worked long hours at the Ministry, and Marlene had her hands full with the children. They did not have as much money as they needed, but that did not stop Marlene from smiling every morning at her baby boy. Tavish would not grow up with excess material possessions or a mansion, but he would be loved.
And that is what Tom Riddle needed most in his second chance; love.
Here's a guide, so you guys know who was reborn as who (The names are pretty close, and all the first names have the same meaning, so it should be easy to remember :3)
