(A/N: Yeah, yeah I know it's been a while since I've updated. But hey, I'm a busy person and I just got graduated this year from college. So yay! I'm a now a true-blue member of the taxpaying society now! I'm currently finding an interesting job so I do hope you wish me luck here).

Disclaimer: Tough love. I still didn't own them though. Or else I would've made a crossover movie between the two of them.

Chapter 2

Saucy Introductions

By: Aztec999

NOW IT WAS HIS TURN TO GAPE AT HER.

"Y-you can see m-me?" Jack asked in a stammering manner.

The girl in front of him rolled her eyes in response.

"Of course I can. I have eyes you know." Mavis replied in a sardonic manner, clearly emphasizing the word eyes.

Jack just continued to stare at her for a moment then slowly grinned. "Saucy aren't we? I like your style." He thought in amusement.

"Ah, I didn't forget that Miss." He replied airily.

"You still didn't answer my question. Who are you?" Mavis repeated in irritation.

"Name's Jack Frost. At your service my lady." He bowed politely at her but there was still an amuse gleam into his eyes.

Mavis raised one of her eyebrows at his chivalrous or should she say a mocking politeness that he used to addressed to her. She scoffed him. But one thing is for sure: he's quite…. Handsome. His hair is a cool, messy pile of pure white mane that matches the color of his eyes: a shade of pure and dazzling cerulean irises. And he had a well-sculpted nose and a set of thin but adorable lips. And his body—

She gave herself an internal shake. What the hell was happening to her? She should be pissed at this arrogant guy who just entered her privacy! Although Mavis admitted that the guy's quite a cutie, she was irritated at his slight carefree and cocky attitude. She scowled at him. However, it didn't make him cower or quail at her or rather he didn't seem to care at her annoyance to him. He merely grinned at her in return which made her silently seethed at him.

"Jack Frost? The winter spirit? I wasn't expecting someone like you. I was expecting some kind of an old, bearded white man with a big, white scepter into his hands." Mavis commented in a sneering manner. She was inwardly surprised at her sudden rude attitude towards him. She wasn't normally like this. She was an easy-going and jovial person. But right now, she wasn't in a mood to deal with this impertinent man patiently.

She was expecting him to be slightly offended at her insulting comment, but what she didn't expect was his complete opposite reaction to her: he instantly laughed at her like hearing a goddamn joke.

His laugh had a deep timbre to her ears. It was pure and very manly like she was hearing one of the DJs laugh in the radio. And she swore that it was one of the beast laughs that she had ever heard. She mentally berated herself. Now it wasn't the time to admire him. She was supposed to be pissed at her intruder, not to be amazed at him.

"Let me guess, that was one of your parents' stories right? I completely understand that." Jack said after his laugh had diminished.

She raised an eyebrow at him.

"Look, I need someplace where I can't be bother right now. So if you're not going to leave then I will." She was about to leave when Jack suddenly called her making her stop.

"Wait! Now that you knew my name, can I at least know what's yours?" Jack asked promptly.

A natural response to that question would be likely to give one's name. But not to Mavis. She has to make sure that she'll have the last word around here. Payback time.

"You know I would like to give you my name but I don't easily give them to anybody. Especially to strangers." She replied lightly then smirked at him.

And with that, she flew off changing into a bat in front of him.

She left him gaping at her. Again.

"WAIT, SHE CHANGED INTO A BAT?"Jack thought, completely astounded at the girl.

He could have followed her, but he would have some important things to work on.

He shook his head. Definitely wasn't the last one. That girl is really something. Whether she was a human or not, he definitely was going to find her. He felt a sudden interest in her because aside from the fact that she could see him, she wasn't a kid. She was a teenager. And a female. Wait, why did he think of that? He brushed that strange thought aside. Now was not the time to waste on mulling over some unimportant things. But if she could see him, then why she didn't recognized him at the very moment? Unless she really thought that Jack Frost was some kind of an old, grisly man with a white scepter. He chuckled at the thought. Now, his mission here wasn't going to be a boring one after all.

MAVIS CONTINUED TO TOSSED AROUND HER BED THAT NIGHT. Damn. She couldn't sleep. Why in God's name she couldn't sleep? Was it because of that strange but interesting conversation she had with that Jack Frost guy? She abruptly stopped tossing around and suddenly sat upright. And why is that? Just because she had a brief encounter with that winter spirit didn't mean it should bother her.

"But it is bothering you my dear." Her mind reminded her in a taunting manner.

Ugh. This was clearly not helping her. At all. But she couldn't resist thinking about him though. He intrigued her. And fascinate her. He wasn't really the spirit she expected him to be. He was clearly young, handsome….. And cheeky. She smirked at the last thought. Although she didn't want to admit she wanted to see him, she'll make sure that her next encounter with him is going to be an entertaining congregation for the two of them.

(A/N: So how was it? I do hope that I didn't make them OOC here, but if you have honest opinions and constructive criticisms let me know so I can improve them. And before I post the next chapter our deal is review, fave then add so you have to get more updates *winks*).
