"Hey, Brother, wake up. We're almost there."

Edward Elric, known famously as the Fullmetal Alchemist let out an annoyed groaned. Obviously hoping for more time to sleep, it only felt that it lasted for mere minutes. He opened his tried eyes; he blinked a few times to get used to the unbarring sunlight that was streaming mercilessly through the window of the train. He stretched out his tired body and ran his human hand through his golden locks.

They are currently travelling to Liore, said to be a desert paradise with a peaceful town, there a supposed miracle priest was performing wonders and healing the town. It was also said that this girl was heading that way as well, drawn to the rumours of the phenomenon.

"Urgh, that was some nap," Edward grunted. He yawned and smiled at his brother who was sitting across from him. But in a second that kind smile soon turned grim and his tone of voice matched, "Hey, Al. I want you to be on your guard if we do encounter her. We may not know what we're dealing with and keep a close eye on that dog of hers, understood?"

"Yes, Brother, of course," Alphonse known as an empty suit of armour nodded. "But, Brother are you really going to capture her and take her back to Central?"

"Well, I wouldn't use the word 'capture'. I think we should treat her with a mini tour back at Headquarters. I'm sure she wouldn't mind that," Edward finished off with a cheeky grin. "Besides, Mustang's orders, he wants to meet the girl himself, he's intrigued by her."

"Like all of us, right Brother?"

"Sure, Al, it's hard not to be fascinated by her. Still, I don't think it would be an easy task, I don't think she would like the idea of being taken somewhere she doesn't want to go."

"Yes, but what if she doesn't exist or that she skipped town?" Alphonse questioned.

"I hope you're wrong, Al," the alchemist replied. "I would hate the idea of coming here only to realise that we wasted valuable time."

"We could treat this as a mini vacation, we haven't had one before," Alphonse suggested in a light tone.

"We don't have time for this Alphonse." Edward said, sudden annoyance appearing in his tone. "I wish we could be more productive of our time instead of chasing some ghost that may not even exist even if she really is all that great." Edward snorted then in a deep voice trying to imitate the Flame Alchemist. "'Now, Fullmetal, I don't have time if you come back here all pissed and acting like a whiney child if you find nothing. Remember that I never promised you anything with this, its reports and rumours I get and I thought that maybe you are privilege enough to hear word from it by me. Oh, and remember that while you're there you may have to represent the Military, and I know that-hey, don't give me that look, kid. I know that it may be difficult for you to act like an adult but in this case I ask you to at least act mature, you are a State Alchemist, after all. I hope that isn't a too difficult task for you.'"

Alphonse mentally and inwardly rolled his eyes as he listened to his brother ending his rant with a deep well needed sigh and rubbed the bridge of his nose. He was starting to think that he was getting sick of travelling. Both the Elric brothers looked up as the train screech into a halt.

Edward stood up, a sudden wave of excitement bubbling in his stomach. A girl actually raising the dead, huh? Well, I hope you're real.

"Hey, Al," Edward watched for a moment as his younger brother picked up his suitcase. "You do know who we're keeping an eye out for, right?"

In response Alphonse nodded. "A girl with deep, dark brown hair that's almost black and a large dog," he answered.

Edward nodded. "Alright, just checking."

I wanted to keep it short to see what the first taste would be like.
