Hello again! Sorry for the incredibly long wait!
…..
Kisame couldn't fathom why he was supposed to hang out behind Itachi and Sakura. He was told to circle the two and if a problem occurred, to take it. He didn't really understand why Itachi wanted the extra time with Sakura; he had warmed up to her, but didn't seem to be attached to her.
That was how Kisame ended up in the thickest part of the forest with his cloak stuck to a rather sharp branch. Glaring at the said branch, Kisame attempted to unhook himself. A cawing of a black crow abovehim was the signal. Itachi had found the place he wished to stop. Snapping the small stick like branch off, Kisame followed the crow. The little stick hanging the edge off the trademark cloak.
When Kisame made it to the temporary camp, Sakura had her ankle in a tight loop and she was walking around.
Question one: Why was Sakura not just laying on the ground?
She was putting a large tent and jumped when Kisame stepped on a stick.
Itachi came out behind the tent carrying firewood.
Question two: Why was Itachi helping?
Kisame glanced around. Were they helping him out, giving him a break?
"Kisame, fish. Now."
Nope.
.....
Tonight as the three munched on cooked fish, Kisame noticed the closeness of the Haruno and his partner. The air was cold like the eyes of Itachi, but Kisame noticed something in those cold eyes. They had a faint sparkle that wasn't there at any point in time that Kisame had known the man.
It was the same story in the rosette too. She was so loud and obnoxious the first few nights, but now she was silent. Respecting Itachi and have quiet conversations with him at the same time.
It angered him slightly. Now, with these silent conversations happening, who was he going to talk too? Kisame was a loud person when not focused. He was third loudest of the Akatsuki. (Tobi and Deidara had him beat.) On these missions when heading back to the base, sometimes talking was of the upmost importance, Itachi typically put up with his chatter but this mission didn't have the chance of talking.
Sighing, he stuffed the remains of his fish into his mouth. He had worked hard on catching three fish. The stream was frozen in places. Was he going to get the thanks? Nope.
Standing up he stomped off to the tent, pushed his sleeping bag to the furthest corner and glared at the crinkles of the thick fabric.
A few minutes later, Itachi and then Sakura crawled in. Kisame turned away from the two.
"Kisame, reattach Haruno's foot inside the tent. The weather." Itachi put simply.
"Right." Kisame, unsure of how to get out of the cramped tent, grabbed his things and slid outside the tent. Once unhooking Haruno's ankle from the ground and putting it in the tent, leaving it for whatever Itachi wanted to do, Kisame curled into his sleeping bag, shivering slightly.
It was wet and cold. That's all Kisame felt. The frozen ice in the stream should have been an obvious clue that snow was on the way. And it sure did snow. The ground was cover by a blanket of the ice crystals.
........
This morning was not starting out like Kisame wanted it to.
For the first time in forever, Kisame wanted out of this mission. Everything was too out of character.
…..
Short, I know. I'm just not totally sure where I'm headed with this.
Um, the snow was from all the snow we're getting! It's craziness! We've had like twenty seven inches of something like that! So next time will include snow fun! I promise and not so much angst either.
Until then,
Jess
