Unfortunately, the problems didn't start or end there. At the age of seven, with the already chaotic tendencies of magic and no development without the kyuubi's presence, accidental magic started making itself apparent to an unusually potent degree. When Dudley teased Rose over an ugly sweater that Aunt Petunia gave her, instead of commenting on his own, Rose's sweater lengthened into a knit dress that faded to monochrome. No one in the family knew how to react to the change, so everyone pretended that it didn't happen. When a practical cloak of red chakera suddenly formed during team sparring practice, team 7 took it nowhere nearly as lightly. After the Sadame noticed that the kyuubi in fact wasn't escaping, Rose was immediately sent to a whole battery of tests.

When she proved to be perfectly healthy and the seal intact, Rose got the answer why, and everyone else got more unwanted questions. Rose's behavior after being told her status was the worst thing she could have done. Still overcharged, she ended up destroying half the room in an overdue outburst. When she realized what she had just done she apologized, but the damage was done. There was no way any competent leader would let such a loose cannon have access to confidential information or equally delicate situations that determined the very fate of the village. With the Uchera clan's extreme dislike and willing effort, Rose was relegated to non-combative roles exclusively and indefinitely.

Without the hokage's trust, it wasn't possible for Rose to fully enter ANBU and with her ban on combative roles, her instructors saw point keeping her in the physical training. With the necessity of being able to provide for her brother (children with living, employed family members did not qualify for an orphan stipend) she braved the Sadame to ask what jobs she could take. Somewhat impressed by the show of maturity (thank goodness she wasn't going to through another tantrum every time something went wrong) she was given a rundown of what she couldn't do because of her behavior (cryptology, ANBU, or paperwork) she was listed the options that weren't specifically banned for her (medical, seduction division, general missions that weren't combative, and police) and then gave reasons why she wasn't qualified to do any of those (chakera too unstable for precise medical Justus, too young for seduction division, D-ranks needing a full team to complete and most anything higher being somehow combative in nature, only Uchera were allowed in the police force). He gave her an option, find a way to qualify for one of them, or drop out and requalify an orphan stipend.

That sort of treatment is not easily forgotten by anyone, let alone by a frightened eight-year-old who was just deciding to trust you. Instead of trying to convince him otherwise, Rose adapted, unwilling to depend on someone who had just seemingly snubbed her so badly when she asked for help. "There was no way that she could control her chakera's pattern to the degree that she could qualify for medical, and there was no way to change who your parents are" she thought to herself, and in her frightened state she discounted trust as something that she could ask for. "Yes hokage-sama" she dutifully said before she sunshined out of the room and started a search for a way to change her age.

When Naruto got home, the twins brainstormed on what they could do. "You could ask him to trust you and get the job in ANBU that you planned for" and, "Could I henge into someone older?" ended up being the most useful options. The twins managed to fiddle with the henge (mostly Naruto experimenting with the suggestions and Rose reviewing the theory and altering amounts of chakera used) and managed to come up with something that would work. Rose chose to leave the option of asking for trust for last and see if she could accomplish it on her own without leaving herself more vulnerable.

Suraten didn't plan on letting the girl continue in his shinobi's ranks. An eight-year-old presenting him with a solid henge to have her make the cut into a seduction division was not something that he expected. "But you mind isn't big enough to deal with doing that sort of thing", he tried to talk Rose out of it," It might hurt you enough that you couldn't work as a shinobi afterword"

"But you promised!" Rose nearly screamed, angry and upset that he wasn't keeping his own deal. Another surge burned the antique desk covered in the Hokage's paperwork. "Why not?"

"You are too young for that division miss" Huritan replied, "This tantrum your showing is proof!"

"But what else can I do!" a leg got ripped off the table in her fury, ceramics started to crack- "It's because you don't like me isn't it! You were agenst me from the beginning just because of that thing"

"How can I like you when you are destroying my office?" "How can I trust someone who isn't acting any better than expectations"

That incident actually calmed things down in the Dursley household. With Rose looking so upset, Petunia had a reason to talk to her niece. "What happened, Rosie?" At the sound of the kind tone and a nickname she hadn't heard after the death of her mother, Rose broke into tears.

"I passed the tests, and I completed the training, but my other got kicked out of ANBU and when I tried to get another job from the corps, he didn't keep his promise!"

"Oh baby, you can cry," Petunia softly comforted her niece, who suddenly looked so much like Lilly when her village was destroyed. "Your mother felt the same way when the Hokage didn't keep his promises to her"

"What did he do to her?", Rose wondered between tears, hugging her Aunt like her life depended on it.

"Well, it happened in her other, and I don't know all the details, but he didn't send people to defend her families' home village when he had promised her that he would" softly smoothing her Niece's hair, it occurred to her that even though she couldn't control her Niece's other, this still was her young niece. "What didn't he do for you?"

"He kicked me out of ANBU training after a tantrum, and even after he said that I could get into another division if I increased my age, he wouldn't let me join Seduction!"

Petunia thought carefully, not wanting to trigger accidental magic, but not comfortable with the idea of her niece in a something like that, not when Petunia had her Vernon in the house! "I don't think that he was being serious when he said you could join, but Rosie, hear me out" she moved one hand placatingly "When people join something like that, they risk pregnancy. Would you be better or worse off if you had to quit that job because of a baby and then had to feed yourself and the baby with no job?"

Rose thought about it carefully, and after a pause, replied "But I already have to feed two people, me and my brother"

"Well..." Petunia trailed off as the meaning of the words hit her. Her niece had a job that supported her family in the other, and was refused the ability to provide for them. Her tiny timid niece was a breadwinner. "Mabey you should ask Vernon, he knows about being a strong provider" That night at dinner, the question was asked, and Vernon had a reason to talk to Rose and an opportunity to influence her other.

"If you do your work well, and continually, I see no reason that your boss wouldn't promote you eventually"

"But that's the problem", Rose said, more controlled but no less distraught, "He won't let me join the branch that I was initially trained for, and gave a number of reasons why he couldn't transfer me!'

"Well, why did he fire you from…"

"It was ANBU, the special ops forces. I had a breakdown after learning a secret about me and destroyed an office in a fit of temper. I apologized, but he still said that my behavior then proved that I couldn't be trusted with information, and ANBU is entirely filled with classified information."

Vernon was somewhat out of sorts, realizing that the girl he mostly left to his wife was considered for an elite and seemed to have been fired for learning his bad temper. "Well, I don't know how to help with the temper problem, but what were you given as an option to transfer to?"

"That's the problem! I didn't get any option to transfer to! He said that I wasn't to be trusted with the information in any of the intelligence divisions or paperwork, too young for the seduction division, not precise or controlled enough for the critical medical division, and not from the right family to join the police!" with her temper starting to rise, the dishes started to rattle and she forgot that her behavior with information was the very thing that started the problem.

"Quiet!" Vernon shouted, and the weirdness abruptly cut off. Distracted by the near catastrophe, he went off topic. "Do those fits of destruction carry over to your other?"

"Sometimes" she admitted, embarrassed. "They don't normally do anything except randomly explode or burn things there, however, and are even less frequent when I use Justus frequently"

"Just what are Justus?" Vernon asked suddenly, pitying anyone who had to put up with that sort of behavior as often as something weird happened around Rose here. He suddenly felt inspiration strike at the thought that those problems could be controlled.

"Well, justus mostly use human energy to do something otherwise unexplainable, but they fallow rules and structures, only happening when you do the correct hand signals and want it to work, and sometimes not even then" Rose was wary, knowing all too well that her guardians didn't like it when strange things happened, and unsure if Justus counted as strange. She thought it was lucky enough that they hadn't made more of a fuss when Dudley "caught" the weirdness from her.

"Can you find a way to do them here?" Vernon now knew that his wife's half-sister had been a witch, and shared her other with the child, based on Rose's bright blue eyes that neither Lily nor James had, but no other unexpected heritage, favoring Lily's build and a face otherwise like James. Magical training didn't start until eleven, but if she used her energy up a different way, he might be able to avoid unwanted incidents.

"I don't think so..." Rose quietly said, seeming more a question than statement. She had never thought to try.

"Well, you can go to the park after school tomorrow and test it out there, we will see if we can burn out that energy," before anyone could protest, he continued "if you can stop those outbursts, I am fairly sure that you can regain your boss's trust and your job that much faster."

Rose did what her uncle suggested, and ended up tiring herself out and embarrassing her aunt when she was unable to do anything unusual at all. The most abnormal thing that happened to her was a dog coming over to nuzzle her. The whole family was embarrassed over the lack of occurrences and started laughing at themselves when Dudley ended up being the one to have an "accident", switching everyone's hairdo after his bangs kept falling into his face during the tense silences over dinner. That, more than anything else, firmly established in every one's mind that the accidents were just that, accidents.

When she dwelt in her other, Rose was in a much better mood now that she was no longer fighting an unspoken war in one of her households. She was so much happier that her teammate, poor Itchi who everyone portrayed as victim of Rose's success, asked what happened to her.

"A huge fight in my other just blew over" she responded, to glad the fight was over to care how private others were.

Itchi, just out of a lecture in his home, was far more affected by the show of trust in sharing that intimate secret with anyone. He was so startled by the action, that he couldn't stop his instinctive reply of, "What was it about?

A little warier, but still too happy to care and this was her teammate, after all. "Those stupid tantrums that got me in so much trouble here, you know? They carry over into less destructive random… stuff"

"Those can carry over!" Itchi was horrified. People nearby to those 'accidents' had often need hospital stays afterwards, himself included.

"It really is an accident" she pouted. "I don't want them to happen, And If I try to start them, it doesn't work"

"You tried to do it! When, why?"

"My uncle, I told him about getting fired for an outburst, and he said that I should try to control it."

"Really? Did it work?"

"I just said that it didn't work" she huffed, upset at the reminder that she hadn't made any progress at getting back an income. "and now I still have no clue how I am going to be able to afford things without the job I lost, and aren't any closer to fixing the mistake"

They parted soon after, but the seeds for friendship were started. They ended up growing closer during the months after as the Dursley household felt more and more like home, and Rose lost the waiting game for her job and quit the nonexistent income for a meager, but livable stipend. Somehow, Itchi ended up becoming fully friends with Rose after they quit being real teammates. The boredoms of civilian school (what are you thinking, there's no way that she's going back to the academy after being forced out off the only job that it trains for) was broken up with not-actually-dates were Itchi would take her out for ice-cream, or to the movies, or even risk sparing with her in training ground 66. Even though she lost her job and considered her carrier as a shinobi firmly ended, the time with Itchi somehow made the loneliness and absences worthwhile.

When Rose woke up for her first birthday after the deep conversation with her family, she did not expect to get cake, or presents, or a trip to the zoo. Still, for the first time, her family here was actually acting like family. They didn't like her any more than when they had first got her, Rose wasn't going to pretend otherwise, but now they were making a show of affection and gilding the neglect they had previously gave her. She still didn't like them, and would never fully forget what they could do to her, but she was going to enjoy and milk each opportunity to play family with them.

Waking up with her brother one day, Rose just knew that the last of one of her problems was going to dissipate. The feeling kept getting stronger, until it actually was realized with a summon to the Hokage's office. She felt that her dreams were answered- until he actually stared to speak.

"Rose, why haven't you gone back to the academy yet?"

"Wasn't I kicked out of the shinobi ranks?"

"I planned for you to go back to academy and learn to control those outbursts of yours, and have indulged your whims of civilian life long enough"

"Why would I be at the academy if I'm still a danger to those around me?"

"Better yet, why should I let you continue to put civilian children at risk?"

"Why waste the teacher's time when I already know the material and have been banned from ever joining the ranks?"

"Why would I let a junkiri rot in a civilian environment when you could aid in strengthening this village?"

"You already kicked me out of the ranks when I was an active shinobi and had already passed to chuin!" Rose was starting to get upset, and it was that much worse because she hadn't been playing with ninjutsu today

"Yesterday, after playing with Itchi, don't think I didn't know, you had no incident, even when your brother was insulted in front of you. The week prior, you sent a dozen people to the hospital for suggesting less. Less people get hurt because of your accidents when you are kept busy doing something productive. I don't want people being hurt when I can stop it."

"What are you saying"

"I'm saying that you are now an academy teacher for Ninjutsu, Rose. With the constant demonstrations, you should be to worn out to cause many injuries"

"What about Naruto?" she asked warily "will I be able to support him when he stops qualifying for an orphan stipend once more?"

"I would never do something to starve the wonderful, sweet little boy you call a brother, even if I don't see why he got stuck with you as a sister"
