Chapter Two:
"Coffee," Murray ordered as he went through the line at the cafeteria the next morning. "Mine's on the blink again."
Mrs. Marshall didn't seem to hear him, so he called out to her again.
"Oh, sorry," she apologized pouring a cup of tea for him.
"Um, this is tea. I asked for coffee," he told her.
"Oh, yes. Sorry about that," she apologized again as she fixed the mistake and gave him the coffee this time.
Murray could see that her eyes were puffy from crying. He wondered what was wrong.
"Is something the matter?"
She started to blubber about something being her fault when the vu-phone in the kitchen rang. She switched it on.
Murray couldn't see the caller, but he could hear them.
"Just wanted to let you know he's okay. We administered the antidote in time. The poison had no lasting side effects."
"Oh, thank god!" Mrs. Marshall sobbed in relief. "Thank god for that! When can he leave the hospital?"
"Tomorrow. We're keeping him one more day so he can rest."
"Thank you," Mrs. Marshall disconnected the call.
"What happened?" Murray asked.
Mrs. Marshall told him.
