Chapter 2

Paige's POV

I woke up to the sound of "Now" by Paramore on my ihome in my bedroom. I got out of bed slowly because I was still tired from the night before. Today was my first day at a new school; like anybody I was nervous. We had moved because of my father's a vampire hunter; he had said that there was more vampire activity in Fells Church. When he said that we had to leave, I thought I didn't want to leave my friends that I made and grew up with in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Then I remembered how vampires kill innocent people and how they should pay for what they have done.

My motivation for hunting vampires began when with my long time best friend Hallie had been murdered at a party. When it happened it was hard for me to get out of bed because I was affected by it so much. I had thought that what happened to her was my fault and if I hadn't been talking and drinking, she would have been alive. Ever since then I swore that I would risk my life to help save the greater good. It took me a while to save people I didn't know; but I knew that without me they would be dead. Then I came down stairs to eat breakfast and arrive at school. When I came down stairs my dad was already sitting at the dining room table reading today's newspaper.

"Good morning Dad." I said.

"Hey you're up." He said.

He was looking contently at the news paper. He looked as if he had seen a ghost; so I knew that something was up.

"What happened?" I asked.

He slowly looked up from his paper.

"A teenager got attacked by a supposed animal." He said.

I immediately thought of Hallie being murdered by a vampire.

"The attacks have been getting worst. It's the second one this week. You're all right going hunting

"Yeah of course." I said as I grabbed the stool to reach oat meal on the top shelf. I set the box of cereal on the dining room table.

"Paige you know that we moved here to save the greater good. Not because I wanted to move you away form your friends." He said.

"Yeah I know." I said.

My dad glanced at his watch. I wanted to say it was getting late. I didn't want to be rude.

"It's getting late. It's time for you get to school. Do you need me to drive you? Do you know where it is?" He asked.

"No I'm all right. I know where it is." I said.

"All right. Have a good day at school." He said.

"Yeah you too with your new job." I said as I reached the door knob.

"Thank you. I doubt it though." He said.

I giggled at his comment. Then I walked out o my car. My car was a silver Honda Civic. I had received it from my dad for passing both portions of the driving permit test. I headed straight to school. This town was very similar to the one I grew up in. Back at my old school I was known as an over achiever. I was involved in national honor society, scholastic decathlon, student body, and so many clubs. I had planned to continue to do the same at my new school. On of the sad things about leaving my home town was that I had friends. Besides Hallie who had deceased in the summer, my friends included: Nathan and Alexis. We were those type of friends on the weekends. It absolutely broke my heart leave my long time friends behind. But I knew that I would make friends sooner or later here. My new house was two minutes away from school. I slowly drove into the parking lot. I then got out of the car. I had to make my way the office to get my schedule. The office was in front of the entrance of the school. I went o the room that read office. In the room there was a brunette haired woman siting on a computer desk chair.

"May I help you?" She asked.

"My dad registered me two days ago. On the phone they said to just get a schedule." I said.

"Do you have the registration forms and your transcript." She said.

"Yeah you here you go." I said as I handed it her.

She carefully examined my transcript and schedule.

"Here you go." She said.

I examined my first class it was AP English 3. In my previous school I had been taking AP and honors classes. I always strived to be more than average. I went out of the office to go to my English class. When I arrived it took me a minute to open the door. Then gathered all my courage to enter the room. When I entered the room everyone stared at me including the teacher. I searched for an empty seat. Then I found one by Aria, the girl I met at the grill.

"Hey." She said I sat down next to her.

"Are you liking this school?" She asked.

"Yeah. What is there to do here?" I asked.

"Well there's-

"Miss...

"De Luca." She said.

"Miss De Luca do you prefer to whisper or to take your loud conversion outside." Miss. Drake said.

"I'd prefer to whisper." She said.

"I don't mind if you talk, just at a inside voice volume." Miss. Drake said

Then out of the blue a tall boy came in. He put a tardy slip on Miss. Drake's desk.

"I'm sorry I'm late. I'm new." He said.

"I'm Miss. Drake. I'm old." Miss. Drake said.

The boy started walking towards the seats. Then he caught a glimpse of me and stared. He stared like he knew me. That's the only problem I've never seen him before. The boy was about six feet. He was handsome with green eyes. He had olive skin that resembles Aria's. The boy sat down. Then he pulled a piece of paper. He started to write something down. He told some people by something I didn't quite catch. A girl by me passed me a note.

"It's from him." She said as she pointed to the new boy. The new boy waved like he's so sleek and sly.

I opened the note. It read "Hi I'm Stefan Salvatore. Have we met?"

I closed the note really fast. I wasn't interested with boys who thought they could charm me with cheesy pickup lines he probably used on other girls. He looked like he had other motives.
