Neither of them is especially good at domestic things, like cleaning or cooking or remembering parents' or siblings' birthdays, but their families know this and love them anyway.
They are good at other things. River is good at remembering facts; she can list all the Houses of the Time Lords and their top five most notable and most infamous members. (Prydon is her favorite, simply because Dad takes up at least three slots on both lists.) She's a crack shot, and she's not half clever when it comes to making meals out of the usually-bare contents of Jenny's cupboards.
There are other things River is skilled in, but Jenny can't mention those - at least not around Dad.
Jenny isn't quite sure what she's good at, in this new body. In the last one she was tough - a soldier. She ran, she fought, and she won. This time she's…softer. Her hair falls in waves down her back, and her smile comes more quickly, now. Dad keeps looking at her sidelong with a strange, proud expression, and she realizes, as she passes her hand over her full mouth, it's because she looks a bit like Rose.
"Mmmm, that's quite a look," says River, her hand snaking around Jenny's waist. "I suppose I'm going to have to learn what it means."
If there's one thing that hasn't changed, it's the flutter in her stomach as River's finger draws circular patterns over her hip.
"I'm sorry," she says, brow knitting. There was a distance now that hadn't been there before.
"It sounds," said River, her mouth brushing against Jenny's lightly freckled neck. "Like an adventure."
