Diclaimer: I own nothing
AN: I am writing this in third person, as a follow up to the story. It will be a brief epilogue, and just me trying to tie the loose ends together.
As her body lay in the rubble of her destroyed house, her arm was stretched out in the direction he lay. He hand was open, as if, even in death, she was reaching out to him, trying to grab his hand. On her slender wrist lay a silver bracelet. The half-moon struck it gently, making the cursive words stand out. "And you may have this heart to break."
Beyond life, in the veil that separates the living from the dead, Lily and James stood, in each other arms. Tears ran down their cheeks, as they watched their only son be left on a doorstep, in an unfriendly neighborhood. Lily held James' hand tightly in her own. Her wrist looked bare without her typical bracelet.
James noticed the sad look she shot her wrist. Concentrating deeply, another bracelet appeared on her wrist. It seemed to be made of purest moonlight. On this one, engraved were the words, "And you may have this lost soul to claim."
Lily smiled at her husband, before kissing him gently. "Will Harry be alright? Do you think he can do it?"
James smiled tenderly at her. "With you watching over him, how can he not?" They both chuckled, before walking down the moonbeam path into the Beyond.
