I wrote this like four months ago but I totally forgot to post it. It's really short and stupid but I had to do it.

Do not own.

"Logan, man, you have no idea how hot he is," Kendall gushed to his friend, completely aware of the eyes that were on him from across the street, and of the girl's obvious crush on him; she wasn't always quiet when she poured her heart out on their front porch. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't flattered, but it wasn't exactly the girl he was looking at. Jo Taylor and James Diamond had moved in a few months ago, though Kendall hadn't had very much interaction with them. Only the occasional meet up at a public place or times like this, when they were both outside on their porches.

But right now, Kendall was concentrated on his phone, and his friend Logan, who moved back to Minnesota to go to college.

"If you're so interested, go talk to him!" Logan exclaimed. Jesus, Kendall could be such a teenage girl sometimes.

"I will! I just need to find the right time… When Jo isn't around. She has a crush on me, and it's on the verge of creepy. Flattering, but creepy." Logan laughed, and Kendall just grinned. Then his phone beeped.

"Alright well, my mom needs me to go to the store, so I'll call you later," Kendall told him, standing up from his porch steps. He and Logan said their goodbyes as Kendall went inside to get his shoes and find the grocery list his mom mentioned.

Once he made his way inside the store, he immediately steered for the candy section. If his mom wanted him to get groceries, the least she could do is let him treat himself.

The only hard part was figuring out which to buy. There were way too many choices, and Kendall just couldn't decide.

"-mess up his decision!" Kendall raised an eyebrow and turned around, trying to figure out who was being really loud. His eyes floated over James and his friend, who was obviously trying to hide behind him, albeit not very well. James waved and smiled that gorgeous smile of his, and Kendall went back to looking at candy, after sending the brunet a small smile. A few moments passed, and then he heard an angelic voice ask him, "Can't pick one?"

Kendall laughed at James, who was giving him a prize-winning grin. "There's too many to pick from!"

"Hmm… Are you looking for something sweet or sour?"

The blond gave James a flirtatious smirk. "Sweet."

He saw the blush as the tanned boy picked out a bag of many-flavored taffies and handed it to him.

"Thanks," Kendall said, putting a hand on his shoulder and giving him a smile. James just nodded as Kendall turned away.

He walked past James' friend and gave her a smile and wave before finishing his grocery shopping.

"He smiled at me!" a girl voice said. A girl voice that Kendall knew. He just laughed and went on with his errands.

And secretly hoping James swung his way.

Kendall browsed through the large selections of mystery books, looking for a certain one that Logan had suggested. The library was pretty empty, save for a few school students and an occasional adult. As he was reading the back of a book, he heard the librarian give an angry "shh!" to someone. He turned around a noticed James and Jo in the romance section. Kendall suppressed a laugh when he saw that James had in his possession a female erotica book. He shelved the book in his hands and walked over to his neighbors.

"Hey guys," Kendall said, giving a smile. He heard a squeak and a quiet "hey" as he began pretending to look at some of the book choices.

"I uh- I… Left my library card in the car! Be right back." Jo spoke fast, so Kendall barely understood her. He raised a curious eyebrow as he wondered why they would drive a car when they lived only a few blocks from the library, and it was such a nice day.

"She seems interesting," Kendall said, trying not to ogle James' beautiful hazel eyes. James laughed.

"You have no idea…"

While scrubbing his car, Kendall discreetly watched James and Jo. The brunet seemed to be really irritated, which he found adorable.

After rinsing, he began allowing his car to air-dry, and walked over to where his phone sat on the porch railing. He checked for missed calls and messages, and sent a quick text to Logan.

Gonna go give him my number. Wish me luck! The last thing Kendall cared about was the fact he sounded like a tween girl who was experiencing her first crush. He waited a few moments for Logan to text back.

Good luck, man! Kendall smiled, glad to have such a supporting friend.

He confidently walked across the street and onto James' and Jo's property. He saw the hopeful look in Jo's eyes, and he couldn't help but feel a bit guilty, but he ignored it. She'll deal. He walked by the blonde and up to James.

"Hey," Kendall said softly, slipping James a piece of paper. James' eyes widened, and a big grin formed on his beautiful face. "Call me."
