August 25th 2022- 1 pm

Reo couldn't wait. In the month that he had been a beta tester, he loved it- how could he not. It was so realistic. And today was the first release to public. He had seen the lines and was grateful that he didn't have to wait. He said to Itchika the would be logging on and she said she would be too. After the beta, with his connections, Reo was able to get Itchika and Suguha Nerve Gears and copies of SAO. Now, when they logged on, they would meet each other.

Reo went up to his room and his sister did the same. They both strapped on their Nerve Gears.

"LINK START!"

When Reo went on, he saw the character creation. It contained facial features, gender, body and most importantly, username.

After spending about half an hour creating his character, he was happy that it resembled himself. For name he typed out 4 characters which he had been known for for a month:

C H I E

The screen then asked if he was okay with the selection and he clicked yes. A bright rainbow light flashed and Chie looked around at the familiar scenery. He had a message. It said

+1000 cor (For participating in the beta)

+500 cor (For creating a boss)

Chie silently thanked Kayaba for the cor. Cor was the currency in SAO, this was enough to get him some decent gear from the NPC markets. He went to the markets to look around. He saw no good sword so he made a mental note to do a quest he had done in the beta. He found decent armour and so bought them. He sent a PM to Kirito (Kazuto), Leafa (Suguha) and Kina (Itchika) telling them to meet him in the fields.

August 25th 2022- 3 pm

My name is Akihiko Kayaba and as of this moment, I am the sole person who can control this world. I'm sure you've already noticed, that the logout button is missing from the main menu.

"At least they found out now." Leafa said, oblivious to what was coming next.

But this is not a defect in the game...I repeat..this is not a defect in the game. It is a feature of Sword Art Online. You cannot log out of SAO yourselves. And no one on the outside can shutdown or remove the NerveGear. Should this be attempted the transmitter inside the NerveGear will emit a powerful microwave, destroying your brain and thus ending your life.

"He can't be serious, can he Chie?" Kina asked, starting to worry.

"Unfortunately yes... The Nerve Gear uses microwave signals to intercept our actions, without them being controlled, they could easily fry us..." Chie replies, seeing the tears in both Kina's and Leafa's eyes.

Unfortunately, several players' friends and families have ignored this warning and have attempted to remove the NerveGear. As a result, two hundred and thirteen players Are gone forever, from both Aincrad and the real world. As you can see, news organisations across the world, are reporting all of this, including the deaths. Thus, you can assume that the danger, of a NerveGear being removed is no minimal. I hope you will relax and attempt to clear the game. But I want you to remember this clearly. There is no longer any method to revive someone within the game. If your HP drops to zero, your avatar will be forever lost. and simultaneously the NerveGear will destroy your brain.

"213... dead... already..." Kirito said to himself.

There is only one means of escape. To complete the game. You are presently on the lowest floor of Aincrad, Floor 1. If you make your way through the dungeon and defeat the Floor Boss, you may advance to the next level. Defeat the boss on Floor 100, and you will clear the game. Right now, you're probably wondering, "why". Why would Kayaba Akihiko, developer of Sword Art Online and the Nerve Gear, do all this? My goal has already been achieved. I created Sword Art Online for one reason. To create this world and intervene in it. And now, it is complete. This ends the tutorial for the official Sword Art Online Launch. Good luck players.

Panic. That was the only word that could describe the situation. Chie grabbed Leafa, Kirito and Kina and ran out. Of course, now, they looked like they did in real life. Why did Akihiko Kayaba do this? The person who had become his role model in a short space of time? There was no time to worry now though. They had to get to the second village before it is looted.

"We need to get to the second village, now that there is panic, the first one and the fields around will be ransacked." Chie said.

October 2nd 2022- 9 am

Chie was beginning to lose hope. Even after a month of searching the first floor, they had yet to find the boss room. He, Kirito, Leafa and Kina had been levelling up every day, moving from inn to inn. It seemed like this would be all they did for a long time. Then one morning this happened.

Message: Diavel: All

Hello players, although it is looking bad, do not lose hope. My group has recently found the first floor boss room. To join in on the fight, go to (position) and meet me later today.

End of message

Chie couldn't believe it. Maybe there was hope! He quickly alerted the others, who also seemed to be surprised.

October 2nd 2022- 6 pm

Chie had gone to the amphitheatre, the place that had been assigned for the meeting with Kirito, Leafa and Kina. He had been surprised to see how many people had came for this. Chie noticed a man with bright blue hair standing in the middle.

"Okay people, now that you are all here, let us commence the first boss meeting. First of all, my name is Diavel and the job I roll is a knight." The blue-haired man said to some laughter, there was no job system in SAO. "Do you want to hear this or not?" He asked, obviously rhetorically. "Here's the deal, our party found the boss room at the top of the tower today. "First, we will beat this boss, and then we will show the people at the Town of Beginnings that this death game can be beaten! It is our duty, as the most capable players here, to beat this boss and give a source of hope to players."

"First, we'll need to split into parties of six. Bosses are too hard to tackle by yourself or a within a small party." Diavel pronounced. There was some shuffling.

"Hey, Kirito, ask that girl to join us, it seems she doesn't have a party yet." Leafa said. Kirito walked over to said girl and said a few words to her, after this, she came ,with Kirito, to the rest of the party, not even bothering to say hello.

"Hey, wait a moment!" ? shouted, "My names's Kibaou, got that?! I think some people in the crowd have some apologies in order."

"Kibaou, are you referring to the beta testers?" Diavel said calmly.

"You got that right. Because of them, 2,000 people have died!" Chie looked away, he knew Kirito was going to do something...

"Hey!" Kirito shouted, causing Kibaou to look, "Kibaou is it? I have something to say to. Do you have this handbook? And do you know who wrote it? That's right! Beta testers wrote it. Everyone had access to the same information so don't blame the beta testers if you know what's good for you!"

And with that, Kirito walked off, motioning Leafa, Kina and Chie to do the same.
