IDNOAFETIRRWTBCBOLP(I do not own Artemis Fowl Even Though I Really Really Want To But Can't Because Of Legal Purposes) (I've gotten into the idea of using acronyms. End of story. The day began normally for Master Artemis. When he woke up, he went downstairs for breakfast. That's when it got very strange. Instead of serving breakfast, Butler was talking to a little girl in the living room. She had red hair and hazel eyes and tanned skin. Artemis was appalled for a moment, but took a seat next to Butler. 'Butler, excuse me, but who is this?' he asked. 'Oh, I forgot. I'm sorry, sir. This young girl was sitting outside of our doorstep soaked and wet.' he said. 'So why have you took her in?' asked Artemis. 'If her parents are looking for her, they must have a reward.' Butler replied. Artemis smiled and nodded. 'Gold.' he said. 'Exactly, sir.' said Butler. 'She says her name is Holly Short.' 'Holly Short. Hello.' he said, as if she was a pet rather than a human. Well…not exactly a human…The girl turned around and looked at him, furious. 'Don't treat me like a child! I'm not that young!' she shouted. Artemis stepped back, his hands up. He had to admit it, he was a little scared. 'You look…only ten. Are you telling me that you look younger than you are?' he asked. 'Yes! I am!' said Holly. 'That's interesting.' said Butler. 'I know. Do you want pancakes?' asked Artemis. '…What are pancakes?' she asked. Artemis took a notepad from a bag and noted down a few notes.
Deprived childhood
Name is Holly Short
Looks ten
Has not heard of pancakes
Older than she looks
Holly whipped the notebook out of his hands and stared at what he was writing. 'That's mean, Fowl!' she said, throwing the book at him. The book crashed into his chest and he fell off the chair. (A/N: Fail!) Butler caught the little boy before he fell off. 'Ah! Thank you, Butler.' he said. Holly glared at him and spun on her chair, facing her back to the young boy. 'She's awfully rude.' said Artemis to Butler. 'I miss Mom. Where's Mom?' she asked. 'She's not here,' Artemis told the young girl. She hit him with some strength. Artemis crumpled up like a white paper ball and sat up straight again. 'Why did you take me away?' she cried. 'Why were you sitting outside my house?' Artemis sighed, running his hand through his raven-black hair. 'My mom left me there.' said Holly, crossing her arms. 'But why us?' asked Artemis. 'I don't know, she said it was fate or something.' she said, flipping her hair over her shoulder. 'Fate?' snorted Artemis. 'I don't believe in fate.' 'I know. Neither do I.' said Holly. 'Huh. I never knew that.' he said. 'There's a lot you don't know about me, Fowl. It's a long list, too.' replied Holly, smiling.
