Arlong

"Put the sword down," replied Luffy as she stared at the Fishman Captain from across the street. The entire town had ran and evacuated themselves once they saw another pirate ship enter the area. The Timber Wolf wasn't an enormous ship but it certainly had the power and range that was quite deceptive of its appearances.

It also had the Jolly Roger of the Dark Merchant Prince.

Once again Luffy repeated his message, "Put the sword down and tell your men to leave. I promised to buy this island from you as I have stated before."

"Like hell I would," shouted Arlong, "What are you going to do human scum? Kill me? Don't make me laugh. This is my territory and anyone caught trespassing on it dies."

Despite all his bravado, Luffy knew that Arlong had a major reason as to why he didn't simply cut and run. Even with the money Luffy was offering to simply buy the island with, it wouldn't matter. Arlong's crew would certainly commit a mutiny if he decided to cut his losses and run. Not to mention that opening up a base of operations took time and money. There were ways to cut the cost but the down-payment on any base would be massive enough that simply leaving required something much more substantial then what Luffy was offering.

Just as planned.

"Is that why you're simply content to just bribe marine officials then killing them?" retorted Luffy striking a nerve in Arlong.

Corrupt or not, an organization could not last so long as the people which made up it were constantly killed from outside forces. Internal forces were another matter. That's why Arlong was simply slaughtering every marine who sailed his waters. Sooner or later someone much stronger and with more power would investigate and slaughter him and his crew.

Too bad this whole island had caught Luffy's attention.

"I'm going to enjoy killing you and your crew," growled Arlong, "Then I'll just submit the bounty, get seventeen million and call it a day."

"I'm asking you one last time", impatiently commanded Luffy. He sincerely hoping Arlong would challenge him. "I'm offering to make you a deal and then we could part ways as acquaintances; possibly even friends. You do not want me as your enemy."

"Kill them!" shouted Arlong to his crew. The fish-men roared in agreement before charging across the streets.

Rusetalam and Varendick immediate formed a V formation behind their Captain who simply gave a sigh. This was going to be very unfortunate ... for the area.

Luffy simply tapped the bottom of his spear onto the ground causing a purple sphere to form around him and his crew. The momentum the Arlong pirated had built up in their charge had been their undoing. Humans and fish were primarily made out of water and like everything made out of water ... it can be electrified.

Dozens of shocks of lighting arched forward from the moment the Arlong pirates tapped the sphere around him and his crew. The purple lightning danced and shrieked in the air causing brief shouts and screams of pain from the crew stunning them and causing them to collapse.

Electricity was truly amazing like that.

In the meantime Varendick and Rusetalam had both been lining up shots to the back members of the Arlong pirates. The sphere he had created with his spear stopped things from coming in but not from going out. In less than a few seconds the screeches of energy slammed into the various fish-men, only leaving Arlong alive.

Strangely an orange haired woman had also been accompanying them but Luffy didn't pay any attention to that issue. His job in a fight was support and close combat.

Sensing that momentum in the fight Arlong ran to the nearest water body. While he hadn't seen a tenth of the power of Luffy or his crew-mates Luffy didn't want to make this harder than it was. His primary goal was to end this hassle as quickly as possible.

"I'll deal with him," replied Luffy casually to his crew-members as he chased after Arlong.

Not without surprise however, another fish man attempted to get up from the stuns his doctor and master of arms had inflicted upon him. Hatchan, remember Luffy as he slammed his palm into the Octopus sending tendrils of energy into the Octopus's head.

"AAAAHHHHHHHH!" screamed Hatchan as the lighting entered his body. Foam flowed from his mouth as his suction cups puckered and burned. The Fish-man's eyes dilated and his hand dropped.

Yet Luffy still didn't let go. He wouldn't let go until the screams stopped. Which they did but not without destroy the creature's mind.

It would be no use as a slave. Maybe a specimen later but not now. Turning to Varendick, "Is everyone here accounted for?"

"Yes," answered the Doctor, "The Timber Wolf is bombarding Arlong Park at this very moment."

"Good," nodded Luffy, "Make sure everyone, and I mean everyone, is accounted for and captured. Keep as many of the crew alive as you can although I will accept thirty percent fatalities as stated in the report."

"Just take care of Arlong," pointed out Rusetalam, "We'll be able to deal with the rest."

Nodding at his master of Arms statement Luffy ran towards Arlong Park. He could already see the projectiles slamming into the so called monument. Stupid fish; there were better uses on something than a monument. Arlong had been remarkably slopping in the background check of the deal. Granted Luffy wasn't in top form, especially because of his fight with Moriah but that was inevitable. However that didn't change anything.

The attack from the pool was quite predictable. Arlong had honestly expected that Luffy wouldn't dodge or be unable to dodge his surprise attack. Defeating his crew was done due to sloppiness of Arlong's part, the pirate would admit. However fully dodging that attack was something else entirely.

You're not dealing with your average human

At least that's what Luffy wanted to say. Instead his simply flipped himself over Arlong and then used the momentum to bisect the fish-man in half. The lower body of Arlong tumbled un-evenly as the action slammed in the Captain like the marble tiles.

Arlong croaked in pain. The slice had taken everything from the naval down and was incredibly even.

"What?" he exclaimed in shock. Luffy noted that his Fish-men resilience prevented shock from occurring far more slowly than in a human. Oh well.

The blood loss would be impossible to recover from. Even if he did ...

Luffy sprinkled some oil at the twitching legs in front of him never taking his vacant eyes off of Arlong. With a swipe of his spear he ignited the legs and continued walking.

"You should have taken the money and ran," explained Luffy calmly as he lowered the spear.

For the first time since the call, Arlong was taking Luffy seriously. His eyes shown with fury and determination. The shaking and bloody body of the Fish-man captain simply pumped with hatred making him froth. Even in his weakened state it would have been a terrifying image to the ordinary.

"I wanted to take you in alive at first," Luffy admitted, "A former freed slave of Fishman tiger, himself, would fetch a fine price on the market."

Arlong's eyes shown wide with recognition ", You're a slaver."

Luffy simply nodded, "Yes. Not always as slaves are an expensive business but I do it when it's worth it."

By now Luffy was merely two meters away from the fish man. On his back and cut in half but Arlong refused to be defeated by an ordinary human. Still his body refused to move.

"Your body's not responding because my spear point was coated," simply stated Luffy before casually thrusting his spear into the fish-man's cavity causing him to choke upon his own blood. The biological cream itself would continue to prevent Arlong from putting any resistance. Not that it mattered.

What mattered was that Arlong died and he died in pain. Luffy had deliberately attacked his throat for a reason. He never did anything without a reason. Everything and all the pieces mattered. He had deliberately under-sold the island so that Arlong would challenge him. He had deliberately asked that no news come to this island. And he had deliberately chosen this island because of its resources.

Because Luffy was a merchant and he was always looking for the most profit.

"You should never have crossed a warlord."
