Hi there RobinsonSiblings! You may be just one person, but you made me very happy with your review, so have a tiny little chapter as a reward. My life has been in a ridiculous messy state over the last few months, but seeing as I'm using the internet in my new flat to write this, hopefully I should be able to carry on with So Inbetween and my other stories in the near future. Hope you enjoy this - Weather
The first few days of the young man's new assignment passed in a blur. He learnt security procedures, ran escape drills and watched Alice sleep. He went in to sit with her each day, but she never once acknowledged his presence. The young man was awed and intrigued Alice. She moved with a delicate grace, picking her way across the room in precise steps. Often she would sit for hours doing nothing but thinking to herself and occasionally laughing. She would read by lamplight until the early hours of the morning and then fall into an exhausted, yet often disturbed, sleep.
On the fifth day there was a change. After the young man brought in her breakfast, Alice began to pace. She barely touched the porridge and picked at a bread roll instead, but it was clear that her mind was elsewhere. The cup of tea was left untouched. Mr. Black tried to coax his charge into eating but was ignored. Finally Dr. Graucus was called to reason with Alice and try to calm her down. The entrance of the good doctor only served to escalate things and soon there were sirens going off throughout the facility. The young man had to restrain Alice whilst the rest of the team sedated her. When she finally went limp, he found himself staring into her eyes, and found them silently accusing.
On his walk home from the facility that night, Mr. Black just couldn't shake the feeling of being followed. He employed his training, trying to draw the stalker out, but found no evidence. The events of the day kept playing themselves through his mind, over and over, her eyes filling the young man with shame.
