Author's Note: Hi everyone, it's me, Rain. I know that I have been a complete and total slacker when it came to "Dreams". If everyone can forgive me, I will try to carry on with what I thought was a cute idea. I swear the idea for this story came up after watching "Gravitation." Please bear with me, and thanks again. Also I haven't seen Naruto since right around the time the second series started, so if things are off, I apologize.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, Kakashi, or anyone from the anime/manga/videogames.
Reality
Kakashi pretended to read "Make out Paradise", while lying in the shade of a tall pine tree. All the while, he was busy watching Naruto interact with Sakura, and Rock Lee. The boy had come back from training with Jiraiya, and the way he had behaved had changed little. Naruto was still a goofball, but also a battle hardened warrior. "Man, that dream I had last week has really messed with my head…" Kakashi thought idly turning a page on his book. He watched Naruto, as he threw an arm around Lee's shoulder, and grinned really big. "This guy here lost a bet Sakura! He said if I couldn't hold my "Sexy Jutsu" for at least a minute, he'd buy me lunch! What he didn't know, is I used that one a lot on my travels with Jiraiya, he'd pretend he was my Grandpa, and that we were lost. Because I am such a cute girl, I was able to get us free food half the time! I can hold that jutsu for at least an hour! Aren't I a genesis?!" Sakura rubbed the bridge of her nose, and resisted calling Naruto an idiot. Instead she threw her arm around Lee's free shoulder. "Does that mean I get lunch too?" She smiled brightly at Lee. "O-of course Sakura!" Lee stammered turning a bright red. "Damn it," Kakashi thought, "I need to feel this one out. I don't want to ruin any chance for Naruto." He closed his book, rose from his shady spot, placed his hands on his hips, and did the bravest thing he could do. "Naruto," Kakashi called out to the teen, "may I have a word with you before you deplete Lee's wallet?" Naruto looked over at Kakashi and hesitated, his face turning light red. "Um sure Sensei, what can I do for you?" He let go of Lee, "I'll catch you guys later, and Lee don't run out of money. A deal's a deal." Naruto watched as his friends walked up the street. Turning back to Kakashi, Naruto's eyes widened in surprise, "Um Kakashi-sensei, are you okay?" "Naruto…." The older man started, "I have a question for you." Kakashi knew that if Naruto rejected him, his heart would break. "Sure Sensei, what is it?" Naruto relaxed a little, crossing his arms behind his head. "Naruto, I had this dream last week, you kissed me, and professed your love to me. Do you feel like that here and now?" Crimson color raced up from Naruto's neck to the roots of his blonde hair. He stood speechless before Kakashi; it took several seconds before he could answer his former teacher. It was so quite that when the wind blew through the trees, and rustled their leaves it sounded ten times louder. "Shit." Kakashi thought as he turned away from Naruto, and started to head toward his house. Kakashi didn't get far before he was hit in his back and a pair of arms wrapped around his waist. "You didn't give me a chance to answer you!" Naruto cried into Kakashi's vest. The impact stopped Kakashi, and he didn't bother looking over his shoulder, for he knew the way Naruto was hugging his waist, that the teen loved him. His heart soared high like an eagle, and his heart stopped when Naruto muttered into his back, "I love you Kakashi."
Three weeks later…
It had almost been a month since Kakashi's dream had become reality. He took things slow with Naruto. Right now he stroked Naruto's hair; the golden haired teen had fallen asleep with his head on Kakashi's lap after watching a bad movie. They had yet to take their relationship to the next level. For now Kakashi was content with the simple things: making dinner for Naruto, watching movies together, and anything else a normal couple in love would do. Eventually their relationship would gather force, but for now Kakashi could wait.
