If one say that he or she was nervous, then that didn't quite summed up what the brunette was feeling. The room was dimly-lit and there's a soft hum from the small radio and a distant chatter rooms away from her. She was staring back at her reflection on the person-tall mirror.
The girl in front of her has a deep frown, conflicted facial expression, and far-away look. She certainly didn't look as pretty as she was supposed to be, with the wrinkled forehead and the pursed lips.
Her finger so softly brushed over her dry lips that were covered with soft-pink lipstick. Her tongue swept her lips to moisten it and she noticed that the fingers were trembling.
She's anxious…
Her eyelids almost dropped and the layer of her sight blurred.
He left…
"Hmph, looks like you turn out just fine, baka-disciple," Tsuna saw the suddenly-appearing figure on the mirror in front of her. There he was; her tutor, who decided to abandon her for this whole week and left her on her own when she needed him most. She paused… yes, if only that annoying tutor of her never leave her in the first place then none of this would've happened! She could've just learned waltz normally, and her first kiss would be still a few years later.
Because of him—it's always because of him.
She frowned and a vein popped on her temple. "I see you finally came back."
"Hm," the fedora covered most of his eyes. "You don't sound too happy."
"Well, it'll be strange if I do!" she spun on her heels and met straight on with the adult man. She was frustrated, hurt, and annoyed. "Don't you even know what happened to me because of your ridiculous bet! What happened with him! If only you… you…"
"What?" she didn't answer. From his tone, she knew he's asking if there's something wrong in the past few days. But there's really nothing to say.
She sighed dejectedly before her hands tugged the heavy clothes upward to prevent it being stepped by her shoeless feet. Reborn's eyes were on her each second, but he didn't say a word as she walked towards the door, almost ignoring him completely. Reborn scoffed and tilted his fedora.
"Is this about Belphegor?" Tsuna thought that someone just zapped her on her back. She turned her head and faced the hitman. Reborn stood still, unmoving, and his eyes were dangerous-looking. If she didn't knew him better, then she would've thought he's about to kill her—but no, she knew that Reborn's dangerous glare was sent for the said Varia member. "Did he do something to you?"
Tsuna tried to toughen her expression but the fear in her eyes were unmistakable. She looked away. "Nothing…"
"As if you could fool me baka-Tsuna," she heard movements behind her and knew he's walking toward her. Perhaps he's just a few steps away from her. But she didn't turn around—she's too scared that he'll know what happened as soon as he saw her eyes. He always commented how easy it was to read her. But not this time, she vowed.
"I said, nothing happened," she swallowed silently, didn't even notice her sweating palms. "And this is not about… Bel-san."
"Hmm."
"… I have to go," was all she said before she closed the door behind her and walked through the deserted hall in a feign bravery.
Later…
She hasn't recovered her spirit just yet, and she's already in another tight position. She was fighting the urge to scream out all of her frustration, confusion, annoyance, and anger with all her might. Right now, she felt like she's being suffocated by invisible hands as she walked through the crowd. Just when she thought of it, a handsome-looking young man with his long hair tied neatly, stood in her path and bowed politely.
"Good evening, Lady Vongola, you look beautiful today," he gently took her hand and kissed it. If she was still the normal Dame-Tsuna, she would've squealed and blushed frantically, but after being accustomed with mafia for years, she's been used to it and soon became a routine. With a twitchy smile, she nodded, though mentally she's hoping that the man didn't notice how her hair stood up at such a gesture.
"Thank you," she said, before another one appeared almost on the same spot as the last one. Ignoring her wailing inner-chibi, Tsuna repeated the process of thanking for almost five times in the past few minutes. She wanted to make a face and shriek out an 'eek' when another man was heading over her way until her guardians stepped in.
"Can't you see that the princessa needed some personal space? Get lost," Tsuna watched the silverette's back upon her. Blinking in surprise, she sighed and hid a knowing smile. The next second she's mixed with a feeling of guilt and relief when the young man walked away. Then she felt a soft pat on her shoulder.
"Hey, you look pretty nervous," she replied her rain-guardian's smile with a tired smile.
"I guess I am pretty nervous," she said but knew what she truly feels. "… I'm more of anxious maybe."
"About what?" she turned around and saw the perfect-looking gentleman crossed his arms. His steel eyes told her almost everything and she found herself biting her lips and smiled annoyedly.
"Reborn told you didn't he?"
"Most of it," Yamamoto answered instead of the cloud-guardian. He shrugged his shoulders, "I mean, we're your guardians."
"Personally I would just bite that stupid herbivore to death," Hibari corrected indirectly. "For no particular reason."
She felt a bit fear for Bel, knowing more than anyone how extreme her guardians could act. And now Reborn just told them what he should have never told them. He could've aimed his gun at the prince right at this very second for all she knows.
Sigh. "Just… don't cause a bloodbath in this place," she dismissed tiredly. "I don't want to take responsibility for it later."
"Hime…" Gokudera's worried voice sounded so strained that it almost sent her to another level of guilt. "You know, we could stay so no one bothers you."
"No one's bothering me Hayato," she saw Hibari rolled his eyes in annoyance and Yamamoto sighed. She shrugged and tried to chuckle in the most casual way, "I mean, seriously, I'm fine. I… I was just about to get some snack. You know, grandpa said that he has prepared lots of my favorite snack. I'll go there for a sec."
She then stalked away from her three guardians who she knew were sharing an exasperated glance at each other. Or at least, Yamamoto and Gokudera. She felt Hibari's presence started to walk away as soon as she did too. A sigh escaped her almost too abruptly.
The people were crowded. The dresses and gowns were thick and colorful, and the perfume was filling up the air, almost to the point of suffocating. Tsuna tried to remain unaffected despite the urge of gagging keep pushing in her chest. She never liked perfumes, and the room, despite its humongous size, was mixed with all different mismatched kinds of strong-perfumes. She's literally sweating now.
"Hime… are you okay?" Tsuna felt yet another hand on her shoulder. But this time it was so soft that she almost didn't notice. A smile break on her lips when she noted once again how a worry-cat he could be. Once again, she turned and saw her storm-guardian ready at her side.
"I'm fine…" her smile almost disappeared when she caught a certain blonde. Her eyes widened and she hoped that she never see him in the first place—there, in a distant crowd, who wore almost similar suit but the unmistakable tiara on his head. He was looking her way. Something inside her punched and thumped. She swore that she's not feeling that way because of him. She looked away. "Umm…"
Gokudera looked around then back at her again. His eyebrows now narrowed into one of his scary expression. "Hime…"
"… No, I'm fine," she repeated with a tiny bit of fear in her tone when she heard him almost growled. She sighed, "I'm gonna get some drink."
Gokudera looked more than not convinced. She practically changed her statement in matter of mere seconds. Snacks and drink. Yeah, as if he didn't know she didn't do wines well. He tried to maintain his expression calm and composed for her sake as well. "I'll go with you."
She shook her head. She knew she's not a good liar; moreover the fact that Gokudera is one of the people that would never be deceived by her poor lies. Her cold hand touched his softly. "No, I'll be okay on my own."
The silverette looked as if he's about to explode, his eyes darted in a few directions before he nodded and let go. He silently muttered, "Just call me if there's anything wrong, Hime."
"Yeah, of course," she didn't find the courage to watch him walk away. Nor did she have the courage to search for the blond. So, she instantly spun on her heels and walk aimlessly.
After training with Reborn for so long, her nerves were awake and she felt the blonde pacing behind her. She thought it's just her mind playing tricks, but when she sensed him closer, she started to panic. She's not ready. Gosh, she's not ready at all.
How could she face him again after that?
And she really didn't want to know why he left so abruptly after that.
He liked her… and when she thought of that possibility, she swore that she's happy.
But what if he didn't—why did he left?
There's a breaking in her heart and she's practically running toward one of the balcony. There's a small echo of her name, which she recognized as Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Ryohei's voice, but she didn't have a secondary thought as she tried to concentrate on the starless night instead.
"I hate the word 'love'… 'prince charming'… and everything related—gosh!" Kyoko, Haru, Chrome, and Yuni sweat-dropped at the sight of the drunken brunette. There was a pool of tears around her and her cheeks were red and puffy. Not to mention her eyes that seemed to have a never-ending supply of tears. Fortunately they've picked a place far from the center ball and almost nobody notice that the princess of Vongola was crying her eyes out. Last time it happened was because of the bet with Reborn, and now for an unknown reason she never told them.
Kyoko was about to stop the brunette when she brought her glass upwards again, gulping some big drops of the red wine. The orange-hair girl, instead, was stopped by Bianchi who shook her head. Kyoko nodded and smiled understandingly.
"U-umm… Tsuna-chan…" Kyoko patted her shoulder. "Everything will be alright. I'm sure nothing's gonna happen."
"Y-yes, Hime-chan!" Haru also smiled and make a fist. "I'm sure that Reborn-san didn't mean anything!"
"It's not about that stupid sparta…" Tsuna growled. She hiccupped and massaged her temple. "If Reborn knew what happened, he'll kill him… and I'll kill myself…!"
The girl companions sweat-dropped again. "I never expected that Tsuna-san was the extreme type…" Yuni whispered. The others nodded in agreement. The teens gulped wearily when Tsuna drank down a few big gulps again. They were further shocked when she suddenly coughed and sounded like choking. Haru stood up.
"I-I'll get some water…!" she said before hurrying off to some corner of the big room. Kyoko then patted Tsuna on the back gently before she stood up, too.
"I'll go get some cakes Tsuna-chan," Kyoko offered. "There are cakes that you always liked."
Surprisingly, Tsuna responded almost normally with a nod. Kyoko smiled understandingly before she also took Chrome's hand. "Let's go, Chrome-chan."
The younger girl nodded and they looked towards Yuni and Bianchi and shared another understanding look. The two teens walked off and left Bianchi and Yuni accompanying the weak-looking brunette. After a period of silence, Tsuna's voice surprised them.
"Bianchi… Yuni-chan…" both women paid attention to the soft voice. "Can you… leave me alone… for a while…" she whispered, not looking up. Yuni and Bianchi looked at each other, before at the brunette again. They didn't know if she's still drunk or something or she has a frown in her face or a smile.
"But…" Yuni bit her lips.
"You know, Hayato and the others are so worried. They're literally spying on you on some distance right now," Bianchi explained, stealing a glance on the stern-faced guardians who scattered in some random spots; all of them were looking right at the girls. Tsuna stayed mute and the pink-hair sighed. "We can't let you here alone when you're in so much danger as you are right now."
"Please, just… give me a second," Tsuna sighed and looked away. Bianchi's hands wrapped her shoulders.
"Hey-"
"Please."
When they finally able to see her brown orbs, something literally jabbed their chests. It was filled with tears, but it didn't look all sad, instead it was something similar with of that blankness and confusion. Bianchi's hold tightened, before it loosened on the next few seconds. She sighed exasperatedly, but she complied to her wish and stood. Yuni, who was watching with a confused expression all the while, nodded and also stood up. Both girls left slowly, with Bianchi sending some hand gestures to the watchful guardians. The men's faces stiffened but nodded in understanding as they also finally left their eyes from the brunette.
'I never knew him, after all…'
Tsuna frowned and felt tears start building up again as she remembered their practices on the noon until late evenings.
'I don't feel anything toward him…'
She could almost feel his hand on her waist.
'… Reborn would've probably killed someone if he knew what happened while he's away.'
Tsuna sighed.
"Men were so annoying sometimes," she laughed a forced laugh as she press the back of her hand on her eyes.
"I thought you should be dancing on the hall right now," a voice that she almost heard every day spoke. The instant her ears caught the voice, her laugh stopped and so did her tears. She's not trembling—she's still.
But she did not look up.
"… What are you doing here," she muttered in a statement rather than a question.
"At least I'm not wasting myself like what you did," she heard him lift some bottle of champagne and wine. The clanging sounded annoying and she clicked her tongue silently.
"Just go away," she threw a sigh. "Or I'll call my guardians to assassinate you right here, right now."
"What, you mad at me now?" he asked. He never expected the dagger in her eyes.
"Well, you don't say!" she rolled her eyes in irritation and almost slammed her cheek to her palm. "What kind of person who just… takes advantage of someone and left just like that? You've got something to say?" she nearly yelled at him. She shook her head, "And for your information, it's my first kiss you stole."
"Hm, I knew that," Bel merely said, throwing himself to the seat beside her. "It's a wonder if it's otherwise."
"Oh shut it," she pressed her head to her palm, urging down the headache. "You just keep making everything worse did you?"
"It's my specialty."
A vein popped on her temple. "Oh for the love of…" she grumbled then sighed. "I'm out."
"Didn't you have a promise with your tutor?" asked Bel as she about to leave. She stopped indeed, but wasn't in a better mood than she was seconds ago.
"And why does it matter to you?"
"Because that's the reason I've been staying late at your house, without mattering about band aids or broken bones from the training, duh," Bel answered matter-of-fact. Tsuna gaped and felt no energy left to fight his statement. Strangely, her mood tugged from that of exhaustion to desperation and she can't help but slump forward.
"Gosh, you're just trying to pry my weakness. Besides, I never seen you wearing band aids so don't exaggerate! And what the heck with that excuse—you never broke a bone! I'm not that bad or that heavy!" she protested. "Every single one of you just keeps going on and on about how bad I am about everything. Well, I'm not."
Watching her stomped away from the shadowed area looked pretty interesting to the so-said prince. He would've snickered and teased her—maybe even go as far as tripping her foot. But he didn't. Something inside him stirred awkwardly when he saw her. Watching her in that dress, with that neat hair-do, and that rare make-up, he just wanted to grab her hand. He didn't know why, but he just wanted her to stay with him, alone. With no one else but the two of them. Like when they practiced together. Maybe he'd like to see her dance with such attire.
But maybe there's guilt that stopped him from snatching her back.
Or maybe there's a sense of hopelessness—as if he, a subordinate of Varia, would actually have a relationship with the Vongola soon-to-be-boss.
Either way, he didn't move over. But in a matter of second, before she dissolved herself into the taller crowd, she stopped on her heels.
"Hey, Bel…" her voice almost sounded like a harsh sigh, as if she's suffocating as she said it. Said blond looked up and all he could see was her back. Her head turned just a bit and he noticed her lips moved, saying something quietly. "… I…"
The prince would have thought that he's imagining things when he saw tears dripped from her chin and to her dress. He spontaneously stood up from where he was. All this time, after the Varia was defeated by her and her guardians, he had seen her as a dark horse in the mafia world. When she secured the future and defeated someone that they're dying to kill for, he had finally acknowledged her existence in the mafia.
But what's this?
Why that person that he'd saw as equals was crying?
Her shoulders shook and there's something that was forcing its way out inside of his chest. The crowd was still busy, buzzing under the light of the chandeliers in front of them, but he didn't care. Walking quietly behind her, he slipped a hand on her waist. She had stopped shaking; but hadn't looked him in the eyes.
"… I hate to see you in your weak state, princess," Bel whispered by her ear. She was trying her best to fight her tears, he knew this too, and it slowly succumbed into a series of hiccups, before it died slowly. At the slow progress, his bigger hand left her waist and now holding her hand. With a bit force, he tugged her towards one of the pillar. She blinked a few times so she could clear out her view, and she did saw where they're heading—and who's leading her. But she decided not to fight back. She's tired of all this uncertainty.
"… I hope you dragged me here to apologize," she mumbled, sniffing for the last time. The edge of his lips quirked into an almost-smirk.
"Says who? I was just gonna reclaim my words," that's all he said before he pressed her to the pillar, with their lips in contact. By then, her view couldn't be brighter and for a second she remembered that she's supposed to murder him—but then again, 'Why did I so longed for this?'
Then she noticed things she didn't when they first kissed—the sound of his beating heart, the tightening grips on her hand, and the way his other hand gently caressed her cheek. Why did he have to act like he has feelings for her? Why didn't he explain anything? Did he suggest that she should just accept it and understand?
Maybe he is.
They broke apart slowly. But unlike the last time, neither of them distanced themselves. She still felt him there, right in front of her. And she didn't move either. Her head told her to slap him and ran away, but her heart refused to make a move. Ignoring the flames on her cheeks, her eyebrows formed a reluctant frown, "Why…? If you expect me to understand everything you did without an explanation, then that's most likely impossible."
"… ushishishi, what are you saying?" Bel grinned down at her. "After all these years, you're the only one who 'claimed' to have known me."
"Eh?"
"The other day you said that I was the type to show my feelings secretly, don't you?" he smirked. Tsuna's eyes widened as if someone just threw something to her head.
"Huh? I didn't say that!" she protested in a harsh whisper.
"Well, here's my answer," Bel ignored her words and once again drag her from where they were seconds ago.
"W-wait! Hey!" she tried to retreat safely but he didn't budge. By now, they're entering the crowd and she had to squint her eyes to adjust with the light. After all, she's been spending most of her time in the shadow-hidden area rather than the main ball-dance. Squeezing their way through, she huffed to get a better breath. Not knowing exactly where they're going she just followed wherever he led her to.
The song just stopped, and there's a series of claps. 'Aah, I'm so lucky the song's over,' she sighed mentally. But as if on cue, a song she's so familiar with just began to play as soon as she stepped into an empty area. Or rather, right now she's standing in the center of the party, and was immediately alarmed when she saw the other couples around her started to move accordingly to the song, with the infamous posture of waltz.
"What the-!" she hissed. She felt his hand left hers.
"Ushishishi, come on princess," Bel offered a hand, like they used to in practice. "It's the last dance of the night. Let's show them what you've learnt."
Tsuna raised an eyebrow at his antics and stared. She wanted to laugh out loud but then again she wanted to smack him on the head. However, noting where she is right now, that's out of question. With a small smile, she shook her head but took his hand that he offered. His hand slipped to her waist and suddenly, strangely, she felt as if she's dancing in her bedroom, near the sunset hours, the music coming from her computer, and twirling barefooted.
Everything forgotten.
Everything was still.
And there's only the two of them.
Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she leaned her head on his chest at the slowest part of the song. It was too familiar that she didn't need to hear it playing— she remembered everything; the rhythm, the move, the motion. And she felt grateful. Really grateful. If only she missed one event in these past weeks, then she wouldn't be here. Then she wouldn't feel this clinging, thumping feeling in her chest. She smiled.
"I can't believe you," she shook her head. "Honestly."
"That's how it's supposed to be," Bel grinned. This time, she did chuckle softly.
"I'm sorry, Bel. Truthfully at first I thought that you were just a battle-maniac that has a status issue," Tsuna told amusedly. The person, whom she talked about, however, wasn't amused at all and he twitched in annoyance.
"Hmph, you are a poor judge of character," he told her matter-of-fact. Tsuna scoffed.
"Yes, you're right," she admitted, startling the prince a bit. "Now, I finally can see what kind of person you really are, Bel."
She smiled sweetly. He'd be lying if he said that he doesn't feel anything when she did. "I think I don't need to tell you about my first impression of you."
"I know," Tsuna said in a monotone way.
"At first I thought that you're just a spineless, weak, whiny, noisy, panicky, stupid, short brat that selfishly thrusting herself to this world."
"In the end you said it after all!" she whined and wanted nothing but to step on his foot.
"But now…" Bel observed the shorter figure. In her eyes, she's expecting something good. He snorted. "Nah, you didn't change."
"… Huh?" a vein popped on Tsuna's temple. "Excuse me?"
Indeed, she could barely hold herself as she tried to step on his expensive black shoes, but he successfully dodged it, almost too gracefully. He snickered at her meaningless effort and what he did was pressing her hand tighter.
"But I just thought that, well, maybe I can live with that," he said, not looking at her. The way he said it, almost sounded as if he's musing to himself.
It took a few long seconds before she's able to comprehend what he just said. That prideful prince just said what? A new kind of light ascended on him. She blushed. Geez, what's with this guy? He's so strange and confusing. But why did she feel her feelings sinking deeper and deeper for him?
"I…" her hand, which holds his, tightened around the bigger hand. Something was struggling to get out, she knew it. And it's really suffocating that she hoped she's anywhere but there. Before she knew it, however, the song was coming to an end. Just one last spin. Every word that she wanted to tell him earlier was now on the back of her head. She's entirely focused on a different matter now. She wanted to bite something when she recalled how this moment ended the last time.
"Here it comes," he said in a teasing tone. He snickered, "Let's see if you can really manage a full-length waltz perfectly."
"Hmph, humans are learning creatures," Tsuna said smugly. "I won't fall for the same mistake twice."
Bel's grin widened and his playful side perked up as soon as he saw the same light in her eyes that he's seen many times before. She's finally back to herself, and he now could see how he had favored her that way rather than her crying face. There's something odd he felt when he recalled how her shoulders trembled and how she looked so fragile. What a troublesome feeling.
"Bel! Focus!" he looked at her pouting. "Don't tell me you want me to fail on purpose?"
"Ushishishi, what are you talking about? I can do it even with my eyes closed," Bel told her. He forgot to ask why she knew he's distracted in the first place.
The music had finally hit its sweetest part and about to end with a swift note—and so did the now-smiling-and-hopeful Tsuna—as her legs make an elegant turn. She was smiling so brightly that her face could've cracked. She suppressed a squeal, "I did- ooph!"
The luck has never liked her from the day she was born, it seemed, when she was thrown forwards by something that fell behind her back, which practically forced her to fall face-first to the rug-covered floor. In such a position, however, she didn't fell alone, but also Bel, who's standing in front of her in a too-close-a-distance-to-escape. Her head was spinning as if the world just collapsed and there's a noisy sound of 'ooh' and 'aah' and a few exclamations and whatever-that-is. With a groan, she spontaneously looked behind her shoulder to see just what fell on her back.
"Oh my-! O-oh… oh no! Oh my gosh, I'm so, so, sorry Lady Vongola!" Tsuna's eyes widened when she saw a woman, who she recognized belong to one of the family from the North part of Italy, promptly stood on her feet and bowed several times. "I-I-I didn't mean to do that!"
"H-huh?"
"What she meant is this situation, princess," Bel groaned below her. Surrounding her was a bewildered crowd and she could see her guardians started to rush to her place from a distance. Now realizing what just happened, Tsuna let out a small shriek and immediately pushed herself away from Bel, who's still lying on the floor in a hurtful-looking position. She kneeled to her left and watched him sitting up.
"S-sorry, Bel," she apologized.
"In the end you're never destined to complete the dance," Bel pointed out with a grin. Tsuna twitched.
"That's all you want to say, huh?"
"A-ah! A V-Varia?" Tsuna glanced and see the girl that has fallen on her earlier has a very pale face as if all colors were drained from her face. She looked as if she's about to die. Tsuna immediately stood up.
"It's fine, it's fine, I'm not hurt you see? And Bel- I mean, he's fine, too," Tsuna dusted herself quickly and spread her arms to show that she meant what she said. The girl's eyes then watered as if she's about to cry.
"B-but-!" her thick accent broke when tears started to drip.
"A-aah, don't cry," Tsuna tried to comfort her with a small weak smile. She hoped that her Italy came out tolerable. "Come on; let's get you something to calm you down, alright?"
"And you're just gonna left me here, princess?" Bel, too, stood up and dusted himself. Now his attire looked a bit messy. Tsuna laughed sheepishly.
"Well, it's a matter of priority, right?"
"I'm terribly sorry, Lady Vongola. Let me take it from here," the man who was the girl's partner, offered. His eyes also mirrored the same fear and panic that it make Tsuna felt guilty and strange instead. Seriously, it's not like she's gonna do something horrible to them just because something so trivial right?
"Hime!" a too-familiar voice screamed out. She twitched nervously when she saw her storm-guardian tried to squeeze through the crowd desperately. "Hime, are you okay?!"
"H-Hayato…" Tsuna sweat-drop, seeing her storm guardian still struggled to reach her. He's really the type to go from one extreme to another.
"Tch, a noisy one was coming," Bel stood beside her. "Looks like I'm gonna have to do it now."
"Eh?" Tsuna wanted to ask what the Varia meant, but was outrun by him—once again… yes, once again, she found herself being kissed by the storm guardian of the Varia. Now she could hear an even more-intense crowds of 'ooh', 'aah', and 'oh my gosh', and a certain hysteric scream of 'What the hell-!'
He pulled off just a few seconds later, with the petrified Tsuna creaked slowly to look at him in the face.
"And here I was waiting to do this; you're so anti-climax," Bel said smugly with a grin decorating his face. Tsuna's brown orbs widened and she made a face.
"W-w-w-w-what! So you intended to do this from the start?!"
"Ushishishishi, of course!" Bel's grin widened. "After all, I have to prove that I can express anything I want openly!"
Twitch.
"So it's about that after all!"
.
.
.
Tsuna chuckled softly at the recollection.
It's been years.
And every time she saw the ring in her finger, she can't help but remember.
She wanted to laugh when she remembered how everyone was in the mix of hysteric/panic (her guardians), confusion (the other guests), depression (the other male candidates), and celebratory feeling (the elders of the Vongola), and on the same time she wanted to cringe when she remembered the rage in the eyes of Hayato, Hibari, Reborn, and a few other people.
Now that she thought of it, what kind of emotion did the prince held in his eyes when the commotion happened?
All jokes aside, however, after such an outrageous ball, she and the cause-of-all-the-ruckus had officially dating. She was sure that he was bold enough to propose her for a marriage right then, but decided to resign from the idea because of a certain threat from her Spartan teacher who had the belief that she had to marry with the least age of twenty one. 'And he usually has no problem with other girls getting married at the young age of sixteen…' she sweat-dropped.
Anyway, just as promised, he had proposed her when she's twenty, and the wedding was to be held the next year. Funnily, he remembered the date of the outrageous ball and decided to have the wedding day at the exact date. She smiled; who knows that he would care about such details?
Click.
Tsuna's head jerked up when the nostalgic tune started to play softly, like a light hum. She relaxed when she saw the one she just thought of walked in.
"Ushishishi, you must be thinking about this right?" in his hand was a disk of waltz music. Putting the old item on the table, he turned the volume bigger, and offered a hand to her. Tsuna laughed as she caressed her stomach and the life inside it. The couch quickly shifted as soon as she stood up and walked to him. She found herself being kissed by the now-grown man, and hugged his waist.
"Happy anniversary," she whispered. He snickered again and put his arms around her waist loosely. In his finger, the exact same ring as Tsuna's glittered when the light fell on it.
"All just for an old dance."
Tilting an eyebrow, her arms now circle his neck. With a smile, she silently agrees.
"All just for an old dance."
A/N: I. Can't. Believe. It. OMG I've finally finished this two-shots! It took a loooot of time and effort and now it's finally done! XD to be honest, hatching the plot of this second shot is very hard, because… well, I have no idea what I was gonna do to end the fic. It was truly a writer's-block and finally, after how-many-months, it's finally finished. I apologize if the ending is… "What, just like that?" I know how you feel, but I think it suits the atmosphere pretty well (an excuse? Hahaha).
Anyway, thanks for following this fic! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Any suggestion/opinion/criticism is welcomed! X3
P.S. I know that it's pretty strange for me to say this, but I like the sentence, "… Now she could hear an even more-intense crowds of 'ooh', 'aah', and 'oh my gosh', and a certain hysteric scream of 'What the hell-!'" LOL Gokudera XD can you imagine him, with his angry stature, being squeezed in the middle of the crowd, screaming that? LOL
P.P.S. If you love the pair BelXFem27, I have one other fic for them; you could check it out XD. "Heart's Secret". Thanks XD
Questions you'd most likely ask as a reader or I will if I'm one
Q: I don't understand… how come nobody noticed that the princess of Vongola is crying in some corner of the room? Isn't she supposed to be the center of attention?
A: Well, yeah. Umm, just imagine in the midst of the crowd, surely shaking hands and all formalities with Tsuna is actually an opportunity for ranks in the future or just a formality between the members. So… well, it's not like they're at the ball to search for Tsuna only right? And, well, as I described in the story, she's "hiding" in the area where there's shadow from the ceilings (actually I was imagining the room to have a second floor near the edges of the room but the center is empty until the roof… ahh it's hard to describe…) that hides the place where she is, which makes it even more isolated. Not to mention she, her guardians, and friends made the situation like that. Okay, okay, sorry if it sounds forcing *rubs the back of my head*
Q: Huh? So fast… they fall in love, just like that?
A: Yes…? Because it's two-shots… *smacked with a random object*
Q: Hmm… so few of Reborn and her guardians… Wait. Ryohei, Mukuro, and Lambo didn't even appear right?!
A: S-sorry… I personally want to make them appear, since I like all the characters and I like the situation where everybody gathers around and have a sense of togetherness (Unitee…!) something like that, but well… there's a lazy factor too, I guess, hehe. If I make them appear, it'll be, like even longer and I'm already in the mood to just wrap it all up. Yup.
Q: Hm? How old is she again?
A: Tsuna's seventeen when the story started and around twenty two at the end of the story.
Q: …Wait. What about the deal she had with Reborn about mastering the waltz without his help? It's all because of that promise that this story begun right?
A: Yes, yes… Well, in the end, because Tsuna won (for the first time against Reborn), as promised, she's given a three-day rest, which she spent with dating with Bel. Yup.
Q: What about the Varia? How did they react to this sudden turn of event?
A: Well, they're just as shocked as the Vongola hahaha. Now that I think about it, it must be pretty exciting XD
