Eevee's Sad Story Chapter 2
Note: It's been awhile. I had most of chapter 2 done then the motherboard of my computer burned out and I lost all my files soon afterwards so I had to redo chapter 2.
A flash of lighting lite up the interior of the room that Eevee was huddled in. She was hiding under a coffee table in fear of her new master. The lucky ones would be kept in their Pokeballs but not Eevee. She was not lucky. The sound of thunder made her jump. Her master was out drinking again. Every night was the same. He would go out and drink and come home looking for her. Most nights he was too drunk to find her but some nights he wasn't.
The door flew open as the lights came on. "I see you." Rob said grabbing the end of the table and flipping it over. The stench of alcohol on his breath made her gag. "Do you know what? I have been easy on you. Tonight will be different." He grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and carried her to the kitchen. "Weaklings do not deserve to fight. In the wild the strong will win and the weak die. Guess what will happen to you?"
Eevee was suddenly more afraid now than before. Did he mean to kill her? She cried out in fear and kicked her limbs uselessly as he opened a drawer and grabbed the sharpest knife he could find.
"I always wanted an Eevee hat." He joked moving the knife closer and closer. The sound of thunder rang through the room distracting him just for a second. Eevee knew that had to act. She bit him on the arm making him drop her.
Pain ran through one of her legs but she had to run. She ran from the kitchen back to the living room.
"You little bitch! I will kill you!" Rob yelled in drunken rage. He staged out of the kitchen. Eevee knew that he was faster even drunk and her leg was hurting more and more. In the front of the living room she saw her hope…he left the front door open. It was her only chance. She made a run for it. His foot however landed on her tail causing her to scream.
"No so fast." He said bending down to grab her. Luckily for her he stumbled letting go of her tail. She darted out of the door and quickly down the street. He ran out of the house yelling like a wild animal. She did not turn back. She did not care that her leg hurt, that the rain was cold, that she was traveling to the unknown. She had to keep running and never to look back.
Slowly his yelling became quieter as she ducked under a fence. She felt some pain on her back as the metal cut her back. Not caring about the pain or the rain making her shiver she kept going through some tall grass until she got to a field. Looking around and breathing heavily she saw that her trainer was nowhere in sight. But now she was tried, cold, and wet. Finding a hallowed out log she crawled in and passed out from exhaustion.
Eevee woke up hours later. The rain has stopped but she was in pain. Her back burned and her leg and tail ached. Slowly she crawled out of the log and looked around. She was in a field with tall grass surrounding it. Never has she been outside alone and it frightened her.
Something in the tall grass moved. Scared Eevee hid inside the log and peeked out. Jumping out a Shinx appeared. "Hello over there!" the Shinx yelled "I saw you come out! Do not be afraid I am friendly!" Eevee slowly came out limping.
"Umm hi there." Eevee said groaning in pain.
"You are hurt! What happened?" Shinx asked "Was it that Mightyena bully?" Shinx ran over concerned and looked at Eevee's wounds.
"No, my trainer…he hurt me." Eevee replied trying not to show tears.
"This is why I love being in the wild." Shinx said "Hang out I know someone who can help! Stay right there." Shinx ran off. She came back minutes later with some leaves and used her paws to crush them. "I got these off a nearby Zangoose. Do not worry he is a friend." She said coating her paws with the liquid from the leaves before rubbing them on her wounds. Eevee shrieked a bit from the pain. "Sorry it will sting but it will feel better in the longer run."
Eevee groaned from the string as the liquid was covering her back wound. "Thank you" Eevee said
"Don't thank me yet. Your tail will be fine but you paw needs to be covered." Shinx said taking another thicker leaf and covering Eevee's paw. "There you go. In a few days that will be much better. I also got some berries. Very tasty." Shinx slid some over to Eevee who started eating.
"I never got to eat this with my master." Eevee said
"I hate trainers and masters. Making us fight for entertainment and glory." Shinx said "I would never do that. I prefer to be out here in the wild where I am free."
"Really, so you are not hunted?" Eevee asked impressed
"Nope, born free and the trainers I do fight rather knock me out than capture me." Shinx said "An advantage of being a common Pokémon."
"How do you know?" Eevee asked
"Trainers usually say "Oh it's a Shinx I already have one." Plus I am not evolved" Shinx replied.
"Well, that is good I would hate to lose a new friend." Eevee said
"I will never leave you. Besides I have not seen an Eevee in a long time." Shinx replied nuzzling her a bit.
For the next few days Shinx nurses Eevee back to health and Eevee was soon able to walk normally and her back healed as well leaving a small scar.
"You are looking much better." Shinx said as she ran through the field as Eevee followed along slower due to her injured paw but was looking better as well.
"You are right. I have more energy." Eevee replied smiling. "So what should we do today?"
"Hush." Shinx said looking worried. "A Mightyena is coming. Hide!" Shinx pushed Eevee down a ditch as she used a big leaf to cover them both as a large Mightyena walked past.
"Who is that?" Eevee asked waiting for the Mightyena to pass.
"That is the self-proclaimed ruler of the fields." Shinx said "He is always angry and wants what we have. Once he caught me and I was forced to give up my stash of herbs and food. Not a good feeling."
"I should stay away but I have nothing to give." Eevee replied as they watched the Mightyena grab a Pidgey out of the air and slam it into a tree stunning it. He laughed and continued walking.
"He will find something or he will just beat you up." Shinx said as they came out of hiding and started running the opposite direction. "Better to stay out of his way or else."
"Good idea." Eevee said "Say what is that?" she asked running up to something circular before poking at it with her paw.
"That is an old Pokeball. Some trainer must have dropped it." Shinx said as it opened up revealing nothing inside. "Oh good it is empty. The worst thing to happen is for a Pokémon to be abandoned. Some trainers abandon Pokémon in the Pokeballs because well they are cruel."
"You do not any good thoughts about trainers?" Eevee asked
"None at all. They are mean, cruel, and they kidnap us and force us to fight." Shinx said "Look at your trainer. You barely got away."
Suddenly they saw a shadow of the same Mightyena who passed by them moments ago. "Run!" Eevee yelled as the Mightyena roared and chased after them.
"Get back here!" Mightyena yelled as they ran into the forest trying to use the branches and bushes to slow down the Mightyena.
"There is a cliff just ahead we have to jump!" Shinx yelled
"But we might die!" Eevee cried out being scared.
"I did this many times. Trust me." Shinx said smiling before they both jumped and landed safely in the water. The Mightyena stopped and growled at them before giving up and walking off.
They both emerge from the lake and crawled onto the shore. "That was close." Eevee said trying to catch her breath.
"I told you." Shinx said giggling "We are safe for a bit."
"I guess so." Eevee said shaking the water off her fur.
Suddenly they heard a voice. "There has to be wild Pokémon around here."
"A Trainer! Run!" Shinx said pushing Eevee as they both try to run. Eevee went for a nearby cave and ran in however a man blocked the path. Luckily it was not Eevee's original trainer but he was younger and a bit cockier.
"Oh look a Shinx!" He said "Go Bulbasaur!"
Shinx started shooting sparks at the Bulbasaur who hit her again and again with vine whip. Eevee watched in terror as her friend was beaten up. A Pokeball then hit her as it engulfed her before shaking a couple of times before stopping. "Oh right we got it!" The trainer cheered before walking off leaving Eevee alone and without her new friend. Too scared to leave she stayed in the cave for an hour before she heard a voice.
"Looks like you lost your friend." It said before the Mightyena appeared and grabbed Eevee before dragging her away.
