After a short while of hugging the stuffed plush bunny she looked to Ren. "Tell me, why did you give this to me so suddenly?"

"Don't tell me...you forgot what today is?"

She frowned but nodded her head. "Ren, my parents..They're so mean. After you left before I was placed through so many mean things...I ended up having to fight and assassin my brother and sister." She said as she teared up before she fell to the ground "I had to become a monster just like my parents just to be accepted by them. I miss my brother, I miss my sister...but they'll never come back all because of me."

Lela cried as she held onto the bunny tighter. Ren knelt down to touch her but she freaked out.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!...I...I don't want to hurt you too. I can't ever lose you Ren." She sobbed out as she looked into his golden eyes

Ren sighed out before he placed a hand on her face softly. "You aren't going to lose me and you aren't going to hurt me. I'll always be here to protect you, we're always going to be together right?"

"Y-Yeah...I...I guess you're right." She said sniffling a bit.

He helped her up and smiled at her. "By the way happy birthday Lela."

Her purple eyes widen in shock, it was that day already? Was she really going to turn ten? She hugged him tightly and gave him a small weak smile. "T-Thank you."

"Now lets pack your things so we can go, my uncle awaits us. He wishes to talk to you personally."

She nodded her head and before they could leave the room a swarm of Voodoo dolls; male, female. Big and small all with small little weapons in their hands surrounded the two of them. They then saw the tall figure of her mother looking to Ren in disapproval. "You smashed my necklace, now its your turn."

"H-he didn't do it. I-I did mother. He had nothing to do with it. I'm not one of your freaky dolls." Lela said bravely

Lela was slapped hard against the face making her fall to the ground as the dolls surrounded only her. "You are such a disgrace, to think you went through all of that training and for what? Just for you to defy us? You really have no sense of pride as a Yin do you?!"

They began to stab and whack at her, leaving scars and bruises everywhere. Lela cried out and tried to cover herself but her main focus was on protecting bunbun so her mother's creepy dolls didn't destroy her gift from Ren. Ren wanted to help her but he was afraid of what would happen if he did.

"I know that look in your eyes. Move one inch closer to her and my daughter dies right here and now. Be a good boy and watch and you'll get to see my daughter for a few more years."

He contemplated what he could do; he didn't want to lose Lela, he liked her. He was only able to feel such feelings for her. His uncle made sure that his hate was only on those outside of the Tao and Yin family due to the pact that they had made many centuries ago. He couldn't lose lela, she was his only small light in the life that he lived, whether she saw it as such was irrelevant to him. Ren knew that he could get the dolls from around his betrothed without getting close to her.

He remembered that he still had his Kwan-doe that was off to the side of the room, so he got his Kwan-doe and bason before wiping out the voodoo dolls surrounding Lela, he then pulled her up and moved her behind him. When her mother got close to them he whacked her with the back of his weapon making her go face first into the floor. He wouldn't kill the woman just yet. If she ever got in his way again he would just to show her who's better to be in charge of the beautiful young girl that was his betrothed. He scoffed at seeing how weak Lela's mother was without her Voodoo minions. Ren then walked up to Lela to picked her up easily and took her to her room. He patched her up before he helped her the best that he could with packing her clothes and what she would need.

Afterwards they took the first flight to where the Tao estate was. When they got to the estate Ren carried her on his back into the estate where he presented her to his uncle only to have her be frightened at the sight of his uncle. His uncle patted the top of her head softly and gave her a small smile.

"Don't you worry you are safe here. I saw what you went through from here, I know you have gone through more than my nephew, your parents should be grateful to have a child as strong as you. But they don't see it as such, while I do. I wish to give you a proposal Lela, live here with the Tao family. You will train and live with Ren until the tournament starts up in three years. When it does I want both of you to enter to clear this families name."

Lela didn't like how big the male was but he was friendlier than the those she had lived with before, she was thankful for the amount of hospitality he was giving her so far. She nodded her head as she held on to Ren. "I'll stay with Ren, become stronger to help him."

"You're a smart girl Lela, I'm glad you can see the best choice that lies before you. Ren you know what you must do. We will meet again Lela Yin."

She nodded her head and walked off with Ren, he showed her around and showed her where she'd be living for the next three years. She asked how close she'd be to him only to get her forehead flicked. "We share this room idiot. You are my betrothed, due to that it is only natural we get to know each other and be this close."

"Ouchie...okay. Sorry but being out in the hot sun for too long burned my head a lot." She said as she rubbed her forehead with her free hand

He looked to her confused. "Just what did you go through for eight years?"

She slipped her shoes off and sat on the bed; after she crawled on to it. She sighed as she closed her eyes, holding on to Bunbun tightly. She refused to show in her eyes the amount of fear that she had for the years she spent away. "Lots of cold and hot whether. First it was the cold, my mother had me sent to the Artic first. I only had my coat and summer dress with my boots. I was so cold, lived off of the fish that I had caught on my own and even managed to find a few small places to live. I had to kill lot of animals that saw me as a threat there. I didn't like doing that but I knew that it was a test to see if I would survive the years."

She then fell backwards on the soft bed, it had been so long since she felt something so soft on her back. It was heavenly to her she adored the soft bed she knew she'd share with the only person that cared for her. "Two years of being there...I think it had been at least, I lost track of time. I had to fight my elder brother to get a new pair of clothes. I...I ended up killing him just to get them from him." She said with her eyes closed before she sighed and opened them when she felt the bed move a bit on her right only to see that he was right beside her.

"Why didn't you use your spirit?" Ren asked

"I...I didn't get Miyuki till I went through the desert years later, Lulu was mad that I killed my big brother and well she kicked my butt off of the plane and into the sand. I was in the midst of training when I fell into where I found Miyuki. To say the least she is a good companion to be around. She has an interesting past and having her made me stay alive when my mother and Lulu came to get me to see if I had learned at all." Lela said as she turned herself so she could look at him

He held her hand softly but firmly as he frowned at her. "So is that when you killed Lulu?"

"Yes...I didn't want too...But its what my mother wished. It made her happy some-how. I don't know how but it did...That's why I said I was a monster. Can you still accept me by your side Ren?"

He pulled her up and into him, she blushed deep red as she was so close to him. "Never ever think for a moment that I'd ever leave you. You mean everything to me."

"R-Ren."

He gave her a rare smile and kissed her forehead softly. "Sleep, you are going to need it for tomorrow."

"O-Okay...W-Will you stay here with me?"

"Of course I will."

She was allowed to go towards the fluffy pillows of the bed before he placed the blanket over both of them. Afterwards he held her hand in his own. He didn't want to speak out of line around her so he knew he'd have to wait to see just what would happen in the future.
