Chapter 2: I Think I'll Like It Here This car ride was the most awkward yet. I have no idea what to ask him. What the hell is your problem? What songs should I learn? Are you happy that I'm joining? I sighed, crossing my arms and popping my lip gloss together. It had to look peachy and taste like suger, because you know. Anything could happen. Before I could ask anything, my brother decided to speak. "Why do you wanna join?" Wow, Thomas. Nice question. Why do I want to make it in Hollywood? That's like asking a bee why they sting people. They don't know, they just DO! It's like asking a mother why they love their child! You can't help what you feel, you can't help what you love and how you love it, you just do UNCONDITIONALLY! What the HELL? Then all of a sudden, the car swerved and Thomas flipped a driver off behind him. He only has his permit. Our mom and dad couldn't care less what were doing on here, they were on vacation in Aruba. "I've been playing the base for eleven years, Tom. I've always wanted to join the band but there was Rosalina. She's gone now for some weird reason, and this is my chance! I freakin' love my base, dude!" I protested, simply. "Alright fine, but don't get to comfy." He responded, taking a sharp turn into the driveway. Right then, I hopped out the car and opened the door, carefully taking out my base from the back. "Why don't you want me to join?" I blurted, spontaniously. That meant to be spaced out throughtout the day but you know…here we are. "Because, lil sis! You're all good looking and the boys would be drooling over you. And that's gross because I usually drool with them, and I can't drool over my sister! It's gross!" He yipped, opening the door into a studio. He took a right into an elevator that was old, metal and creaky. It really is what it looks like on TV, just smaller. "I guess you're right. You are a pig." I joked, chuckling a bit. Tom stuck his tonuge out at me. But I wasn't lying. It really did stick what he meant. But it still gave him no right to avoid it for so many years. It made me seem helpless or like a secret. Or as he liked to call me "the mystery girl." Then, the elevator went ding and the door opened to see the gang in the famous "fuzzy room." Qaasim and David was playing checkers. Alex was playing a game on his iPad upside down while Jesse massaged his feet. Nat was behind the piano pressing random keys, and Kristina was watching Jersey Shore while stuffing dorritos in her mouth. Cooper came to confront us, but then Thomas went out and started assosating with his idiots. Blindly everybody said hi, not really caring who else was there. It was Cooper's job to get their attention, I think. Cooper smiled at me and lead me to the front of the TV. "Dude, watch out! Nat and Rosalina were fighting!" Kristina yelped, while everybody giggled into laughter. She was joking about Sammie and Ronnie on Jersey Shore, and how they were like Natalina. I hope I didn't kill the joke by explaining it. "Whoa, who's the hot chick?" Alex commented, coming right side up and staring at me. Qaasim, Nat and David's mouths hung slightly ajar as if Alex's words spoke to their sole. My cheeks instantly became hot. Wow, they really fight over girls in real life? "You guys, this is Thomas' sister Stefanie who's gonna audition for lead base player in the band at rehersal.. She's gonna hang here for a few so just try not to gawk at her." He looked at me. "Make yourself at home." He said warmly. Nat and Alex raised eyebrows. "Uh, dude. This is my house." Alex said, in a duh tone. I giggled, with my hand over my house. I also take a look at Nat, who had a side smile. "Thomas, you have HOT relatives?" Daivd yelled, as Cooper walked back to the kitchen and I sat next to Kristina. She smiled at me. "Hey, I'm Kristina." She nodded, and I beamed at her. "And you can kick my butt any day of the week." I responded, breaking into laughter, and everybody joined. Okay, guess who got a score for making NBB laugh? No, scratch that! I made Nat Wolff laugh! "A fan eh?" She asked, breathlessly after laughter. "A small one." I responded, nonchalauntly. There can't be an obsessive fan playing in base (which I am) in a famous band. That's when Thomas spoke up. "Yeah right! She's the biggest fan of NBB ever, she eats our cereal every morning and she has all of our posters! She played NBB mad libs for God's sake!" I groaned silently, while Alex flung a skinny arm around my shoulders. "Pretty hot, tuts." He said, winking. I gave a side smile, ruffling his curly hair. "Aw, you're cute." I squealed, grinning. Alex took one glance at David, Qaasim and Nat and hugged me closer. Alex Wolff is hugging me…awkward. So my first taste of NBB boy is Alex Wolff. Wait, he's a Nat brother isn't he? One more brother away from Nat! Boom! I think I'll like it here.
