Feedback so far is good, so I guess you guys like it! Honestly I'm glad, this takes a bit off of me with the other story.
There's not much to say but thank you! Lets not delay further!
Chapter 1.
The sun crept up over the clouds to greet the world, its warmth embracing everything in sight. This was another day for the people who lived within the Walled city. Citizens could be seen going out their houses and greeting the new day with their daily routines. Soldiers could be seen making their morning patrols out in the city streets, as well as taking the places of the ones from the night before. Everything was relatively normal. You see, unlike the rest of Ashfeld's boarders, this territory wasn't involved in any direct conflicts. It became peaceful after the Templars relieved the Iron legion of the stress of protecting most of Ashfeld.
"Go away...I don't wanna..."
Well...almost peaceful...
If you were to look through the window of one of the main parts of the stronghold, into a medium sized room with the basic necessities for someone living there, you'd hear a voice that sounded like a child being forced to eat their veggies. There was a young Knight battling against the sunlight that had invaded his room from his window, trying to stay asleep in the warm confines of his bed. He would have won that fight hadn't it been for a knock at his door.
*knock knock* "Sir Titanium? May I enter please?" Asked a female voice on the other side of the door. Leaning up from his pillow and stretching, the knight now known as Titanium answered in a still tired voice. "Come in..."
The door opened to reveal a maid that upon looking at the Knight, put her hands on her hips and adopted a look of disapproval. "Sir you were suppose to be awake ages ago! Were you really sleeping in?!" The young Knight rubbed his eyes as he crawled over to the side of his bed, scratching underneath his shirt. "Oh come on...give me a break Tatsumaki! I was up all night with Cain and Unbreakable naming that new recruit!"
Now I know what you all might be thinking. Tatsumaki? Isn't that a Japanese name? Well duh! Tatsumaki is a Samurai that serves as a maid for the Templar Legion in The Walled City. No one knows much about her besides Aqua and Honor, but she doesn't hold any ill will to the Templars at all! In fact, she even served as a spy against the Samurai at one point!
Tatsumaki crossed her arms and looked away. "It's not my problem that none of you could come up with a simple name!" Titanium raised his hand to interject, but was cut off by Tatsumaki's finger against his lip. "Please sir, go wash up while I go fetch your armor." Mumbling to himself, Titanium got up off of the edge of his bed and walked to the bathroom to properly groom himself.
…
…
Some time later...
…
…
Titanium came out of the bathroom to find Tatsumaki waiting for him with all of the pieces of his gear spread out on his bed. "There you are!" Smiled the maid. "Lets get you suited up shall we?" Titanium rubbed his still tired eyes again. "Do I HAVE to?" To his dismay, he was met with no response. Well...nothing but an intimidating glare anyway. His neck hair stood on end as he waved his hands franticly in front of him. "Ok! I'm coming! Jeez..."
…
…
More time later...
…
…
After adjusting the numerus belts on his armor, Tatsumaki stepped back and looked Titanium up and down. After seemingly judging him, she smiled and nodded her head.
"Now you look like a fitting Templar! But I'm not the one wearing the armor, how do you feel?" Titanium took off his helmet and looked at himself in a mirror. His armor consisted of a Jasper helm, and Lionheart chest and arms. He has a Winged crown ornament and bronze material. His sword is the Gadwin set, and he wears the pumpkin color scheme. His standards have the Triangles and Lines customization with the Flared Cross symbol. His cape has the Vines Chevron customization with a simple cross symbol. His helm and shoulders all have the Flowers Embossing on them.
After looking at himself and moving his limbs to make sure he wasn't too constricted, Titanium allowed a smile to crawl onto his lips. "I feel great! Thanks Maki!" Tatsumaki blushed at the little nickname she was just given. "Oh stop it, I'm just doing my job." Titanium shook his head. " What? Um, no. I'm not taking that little missy. You've been doing this for god knows how long, the least you deserve is a nickname! Take it as thanks ok?" Tatsumaki looked down in thought. The more she went over it, the more she warmed up to the name. After all, its just to show thanks right? She hadn't gotten anything like this before, the most she'd get was a thank you. It made her...kinda happy. "Fine, I accept. Now go get your lunch before the chefs run out again like last time!" This made Titanium's eyes light up in fear. He remembered what it was like to run around doing missions on an empty stomach. To sum it up, he ran out the door a lot faster than his armor should have allowed, leaving Tatsumaki in the room by herself. "*sigh* What am I going to do with that boy?" She thought to herself as she clapped her hands two times, signaling for three more maids to come in and help her with cleaning up his room.
Titanium lightly jogged down the hallways of the stronghold, greeting the many maids, butlers, and Legionnaires that he ran past. It didn't take long for him to find the mess hall, and it took even less time for him to open the two double doors.
Entering the mess hall, Titanium was immediately assaulted with the ever so sweet sent of beef stew. This only made the young Knight move even quicker to where all the food was being served, praying there was still some left. Once he got there, after making his way through the crowded aisles, the young Knight sighed in defeat, letting his head hang low. There weren't any bowls left.
But just then, someone walked up behind him.
"Why the long face?" Titanium didn't even bother to turn around, he was too disappointed to recognize the familiarity in the voice. "I missed lunch again..." The voice clicked their tongue. "Oh really? That's a shame. And hear I thought you were the guy Tatsumaki asked me to grab an extra bowl for." Titanium's head just sunk lower...well...until he heard that last bit. "Yeah...wait what?" Turning around, Titanium was greeted with the familiar face of Cain.
Cain: The newly appointed Marshal of The Knights Templar. He served in the legion for a good while and showed all of the necessary requirements to get this position. In the words of Aqua, "He is sophisticated in both the way of the sword, and word." His armor consists of a Loran helm, Tedious chest, and Tranquil Wayfarer arms. He has a Ridged ornament with black material. His sword is a Astral Flame set and he sports the War color scheme. His helmet has the Heraldic Skull 4 symbol. He has the Triangulation 3 customization on his cape and the Baroque 1 customization on his standards. His standards also have the Trigonometry 3 symbol on them. His right shoulder has the Victorious Knight embossing while the left has the Rigor mortise embossing.
Cain smiled as he extended his hand which held the bowl, which Titanium took without hesitation. "Thanks man!" Cain waved his hand dismissively. "Don't thank me, thank Tatsumaki. She knew you'd oversleep again and asked me to save a bowl for you, that's all. Say, why don't you come sit with me and Haymaker? I'm sure she'd absolutely LOVE to see her...how do you say? Husband?" Titanium's cheeks gained a slight bit of red to them as he made to say something back, but stopped after realizing that Cain was already walking away. "W-Wait up!" cried the young Knight as he hurried along after him.
After following Cain for what seemed like forever, the two Knights eventually came to a table with another other figure already sitting there. Cain didn't hesitate to alert them of their new arrival.
"Haymaker! Look what I brought back!" This caught the figures attention, but upon getting closer to the table, they found out that it wasn't Haymaker at all. At the table, a Peacekeeper sat staring at the two Knights with a 'Really?' expression on her face. Cain looked at the Peacekeeper with a dead serious expression.
"I humbly apologize Squire Lance, but if you sass me then only God knows what will happen to you." This ensured that the Peacekeeper now known as Lance would keep her usual sass to herself...for now anyway.
Squire Lance: One of the many Squires in the legion. Rumor has it that during her Squireship program, she ended up getting disarmed by Cain. Rather than giving up however, she picked up a nearby lance, *No one even knows how it got there* and managed to beat him...Somehow...Her armor consists of a Kendall set. She has a Sapphire ornament and Dark Brown material. Her sword and dagger are a Windamier set and she wears the Bloodbath color scheme. She has a Elk symbol on her chest.
Titanium sat in one of the empty chairs after greeting Lance and immediately started to dig into his food. Cain did the same as he sat back down at an area that already had a bowl of stew there. After finishing most of their respective meals, the Knights let conversation run between them.
"Say Cain, I've heard that Aqua is still pushing our King for that Black Prior to get a promotion. What's his name? Draven I think?" questioned Lance as she took a sip out of a nearby mug of water. Cain just shook his head as he ate another spoonful of his lunch. "I think so. Its a shame really." Titanium gave the him a puzzled look. "Why's that?" Cain shrugged. "That guy has been in this legion for a good bit of time, its almost embarrassing that he hasn't been promoted yet. If I know Aqua though, he'll make Draven fight a Man-at-arms sooner or later. Probably by the end of this month. If he wins, promotion! If he loses..." Cain didn't even need to finish the sentence. Everyone already knew what would happen. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the first time someone was kicked out for such a reason. It had happened before, and not all of those Knights left peacefully.
Wanting to break the silence that was starting to get to him, Titanium said something completely random. "Say, where's my wannabe wife at? I'm starting to get lonely over here..." Almost on que, two arms wrapped themselves around the poor boys neck, accompanied by a voice in his right ear. "Wannabe? Now that's not a way to treat your significant other now is it?"
Titanium regretted ever saying anything.
Slowly looking behind him with a terrified expression on his face, Titanium was greeted with the baby-blue eyes of Haymaker, A Berserker in the Templar legion.
WAIT! NOW THERES A VIKING TOO?! Why yes there is! Calm the freak down darn it!
Haymaker: Originally, Haymaker was apart of the ruthless Warborn Clans. After her horde suffered defeat at the hands of the Templar backed Iron Legion however, she agreed to switch sides after being shown mercy. Alas, this doesn't mean that everyone trusts her, even though she earned the title of Noble for her contributions and loyalty to the legion. She wears the Aegolius set accompanied with Light material. Her axes are a Anastas set and she sports the Viking Attack color scheme.
Haymaker tilted her head down at the young Knight that she currently had trapped. "Did you need something baby?" Titanium's face laterally became a tomato as he quickly turned back around, stuttering as he did so. "N-NO! NOTHING! N-NOTHING AT ALL!"
With an 'Aww!', Haymaker started grinning ear to ear as she nuzzled the Knight into her chest. "Odin's beard your so cute!"
Titanium was REALLY red now, and that wasn't even the least of his worries. It was kinda hard for Titanium to breathe being forced into her chest like that, but unfortunately it seemed like no one was paying attention to him, leaving the young Knight to flail about in Haymakers iron grip.
Two words.
Poor baby.
After watching everything unfold and getting his laughs in, Cain finally spoke. "Ok that's enough of that. Is there something you needed Haymaker? Or did you actually magically appear after Titanium said what he did." This caused Haymaker to let go of Titanium, *His head hit the wooden table due to the lack for air.* and recall the reason why she was there.
"Actually, Aqua wanted me to come get you guys. He wants to meet in the War room." Surprise decorated Cain's face. "Really? What for?" Haymaker just crossed her arms, adopting a serious look. *something she doesn't do much* "He wouldn't say. Its gotta be serious though." Cain sighed as he ate the last spoonful of his stew. "Lets not keep him waiting then." Nodding to Lance, Cain got up and started walking towards the exit. Haymaker was about to start walking too, until she noticed Titanium still slumped over the table. She scratched her head in an 'Oops...' manner and helped the poor boy to his feet. "Are you ok hubby?" she asked while gently patting his cheek to gain his attention. "Sorry I did that, your just too cute!" Titanium sighed, seemingly done with life at this point. "Lets just go..." and with that, he walked away, leaving Haymaker with Lance at the table.
"I said I was sorry..." pouted the Berserker as she ran after the two Knights that left her. Lance watched as she ran off, and as she went back to minding her own business, she couldn't help but wonder. 'What is Aqua planning?'
