Blood Red Sky: Revised
Summary: He was by no means broken beyond repair, and he had sinned. "I don't want to be a mafia boss," he said offhandedly. "I just don't want to leave this house, is all. Mom died here after all." Dark!Tsuna. Contains dark themes and heavy trigger warnings!
Author's Note: Whoop, I am back! Thank you for the supportive reviews, those certainly made me want to update my things faster than before. And as I've promised, this time Reborn will get into the picture. Wonder how he'll react, eh? Have fun reading!
THIS STORY CONTAINS HEAVY TRIGGER WARNINGS AND DARK THEMES NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WHO ARE EASILY GROSSED OUT BY STUFFS
Although I am bad in describing things within a story, I wrote enough things in my original Blood Red Sky and a handful of people were complaining that Tsuna ate people. Yeah, well, so what? I can write whatever I want in this story.
And another note would be that: whatever I write in this fic does not mean that I support those sinful acts myself. Writing cannibalism does not mean I see cannibalism as a fun thing to do, writing murder does not mean I support of murder. That is all.
When Tsuna got out to check the newspaper one morning, there was an additional flyer in his mailbox. It was of a home tutor; promising of a bright future, yada yada yada. Crumpling the paper and throwing them to the bin, Tsuna yawned. He didn't have any need for those. If he wanted to pass a test, he could pass a test. The presence of a home tutor would only ruin his daily routine.
"Now, then... For breakfast, I think thighs would be good."
The morning went on as usual.
A few hours later, a frustrated baby could be seen perching on a high tree somewhere in Namimori. He had been waiting for a phone call for God-knows-how-long (actually, he had been counting: he had been waiting for four hours thirty five minutes twenty seconds), and oh was he pissed off. On addition, it was only a few minutes before this, that he got a phone call from an apologetic Iemitsu.
Sawada Nana was dead for years. And that bastard Iemitsu forgot to give him that info. Of course, with no mother present, any kids wouldn't want to make a phone call for a home tutor. That was a parents's job.
To top it all off, the damn CEDEF leader's only reason to not give him was that he absolutely refused to actually put that detail in the intel. He was too heartbroken that his beloved Nana was dead, he said. Well fuck him and his broken heart. Reborn was on a mission for God's sake; he didn't have time to cater for some blond's feelings.
This brought a question into his mind though. If Sawada Nana was dead, why would the only son, Sawada Tsunayoshi, live alone? It was basically a law to have him go to Italy and live with his father, or live under the protection of a legal guardian. This question, was answered with a rather sad tone from Sawada Iemitsu.
"He refused to live with me, Reborn. I didn't even get the chance to tell him that I'm in the mafia. The moment after the funeral, when I first stepped into the house, he threw a book at me. Afterwards, he threw all of my private belongings out of the house."
Reborn listened silently, urging the CEDEF leader to continue.
"He was so furious. Said he didn't need a useless father who couldn't even protect them right, who didn't even come when they needed me the most. Whenever I tried to talk to him, he'd glare and scream bloody murder at me. ...He... He even challenged me, y'know? Saying, 'if I kill myself right here and now, would you be able to help me?' as if that was a normal thing to say.
I guess he was really angry at me. I waited outside the house for him to calm down, and even then I could still hear him crying inside the house. He doesn't think of me as his father anymore, Reborn. I've failed as a father, I think." He laughed hollowly. "I still transfer him enough money every month for his expenses, and he'd done a great job managing them. I don't even think he needs me anymore. Correction. ...He doesn't want me anymore.
Right now, the Japanese government thought that he lives with a legal guardian, but in reality he lives alone."
"I see," Reborn squeaky voice finally answered, feeling tad bit of a pity toward the blond. Although the matter was partially his fault, considering how the mafia was, Iemitsu couldn't always freely go back home whenever he wanted.
"Reborn?"
"What is it?"
"Protect my tunafish. And- he needs a parental figure other than Nana, and it's been so long already. Raise him to be a good kid. Can I trust you on this one?"
Reborn smirked. "Who do you think you are talking to? I am the world's greatest hitman."
He could hear Iemitsu chuckling from the other end. "Yeah. Ciao, Reborn."
"Ciao."
Closing his phone, Reborn hummed. Now, what to do?
He guessed observing his new student wouldn't hurt.
Throughout the day, Tsuna's been on edge. He felt someone's piercing stare on his back everytime he decided to relax and honestly? It was bugging him to no end. He kept glancing around and trying to spot whoever was following him. Usually, it would be fairly easy. His "stalkers" would be nervous one he showed signs of him knowing they were there, and would decide to attack the very moment he was alone. But no, he baited this current stalker to an abandoned house, an empty park, the back of the school... No one got out. Whoever it was, it didn't stop hiding.
Clicking his tongue, Tsuna cursed inwardly. This person was smart, and it was getting on his nerves. His hands went into his pockets, and he walked grumpily back home after school.
On another hand, Reborn was impressed. The boy showed signs of early awakening of his Hyper Intuition, if his fidgets and his eyes darting around to look for him weren't enough proofs. However, Reborn smirked. The boy was not going to find him that easily. He was dubbed the greatest hitman in the world for a reason. Nevertheless, he seemed to be cautious enough, and it was satisfying for the toddler.
One thing that caught his attention was, actually, the knifes the boy decided to bring with him. He was skilled enough to figure out there were flip knifes in the brunet's pockets, and as disturbing as it may be, there was a kitchen knife inside of his bag. Reborn frowned, for whatever reason was he bringing weapons to school...?
When the brunet got to his house, Reborn decided to show up. The boy was not going inside of the house, opting to take out one of his flip knifes and waited in front of front door for him to show up. The teen had guts, that was for sure. Another thing he took note of was the boy's apparent bloodlust. He frowned again, a teen living a normal life shouldn't have this bloodlust, no matter how little.
Jumping down from the tree, Reborn spoke up.
"Ciaossu!"
The confused stare he got from the other was hilarious.
"...A baby?..."
"I am here as your home tutor from now on, Sawada Tsunayoshi."
"What?"
"Listen to people when they're talking, Dame-Tsuna."
"What?!"
He took out his gun, satisfied that Tsuna had immediately tensed and looked ready to flee and attack back with his knife. That, was before he seemed to remember that the person holding the gun was a baby. When he did realize that he relaxed a bit, but still looked cautious. On the other hand, Reborn was a bit conflicted. A mere teen should be laughing his ass off by now. But that reaction was definitely of a person used to have people pointing guns and other weapons at him, and he had a gut feeling that it was true.
This time, he'd curse Iemitsu's incompetence. Him being sorry and regretful about it be damned. Even if the boy wanted nothing to do with him, he should've at least sent bodyguards and spies! He was from Primo's direct bloodline, for God's sake!
"My name is Reborn, your home tutor. If you want to speak, I suggest we talk inside."
"...Like hell I would let someone with a gun inside of my house!"
"..." Throwing away his gun, Reborn spoke again. "Let's talk inside." No matter, he still had other guns and Leon.
"..." Usually, Tsuna would say bullshit and decided to attack the other. But this was a baby, and he wasn't sure if the gun was real or not. Heck, it was even scary to see a toddler speaking so fluently!
Narrowing his eyes at the baby, he opened the door and ushered the baby in. "I am not getting in before you." He could very well get attacked.
Once more, Reborn had to give kudos for the kid's cautiousness, even from a baby. Good, he knows not to underestimate anybody that can be a threat.
Hopping inside the house, he was slightly surprised to see everything clean and tidy. This was as if there was a caretaker inside of the house, or as if the mom was still alive. The kid's doing a good job living alone, alright.
He turned around to face Tsuna the very moment he closed the door, the both of them having some sort of a silent staring contest before Reborn decided to speak up.
"My real job is... To train you into a mafia boss."
"What?"
Oh, the incredulous look the boy gave him was hilarious, all right.
And I'll stop this here! Idk, I think this would be good as a cliffhanger? Or maybe it's just me being lazy.
Anyhow, how do you like this chapter? Tell me!
