"In the Underground" Toriel started. Frisk had been fallowing her for a few minutes and doing her best to memorize the layout. After Frisk looked up at her to show that she was listening, Toriel continued. "Monsters may attack you. Do not fear, however, as I will come to rescue you from any such attempts. Strike up a conversation to distract them. Practice on this training dummy"

This was a problem, or was it. Frisk wanted to do a good job, but this wasn't very easy. What polite thing could she tell the training dummy in Wingdings. After thinking it through for a few seconds, Frisk decided on a message. "Can you Fly" she signed, wishing that Wingdings had a larger vocabulary. Toriel couldn't see what Frisk had said, but she did notice when the training Dummy flew away.

"Better luck next time, dear" Toriel told the child, not having seen the interaction. Frisk, for her part, was just happy to see that the natives here could understand Wingdings. Frisk continued to fallow Toriel as she led them through various puzzles. Frisk tried to remember how they worked for future reference, as Toriel looked to her again. "I am going to go ahead. This should be easy enough for you to do on your own. Just walk across the hall" As Toriel quickly walked off, Frisk looked around her. There wasn't any puzzle in this room! Insulted, she walked across the room easily.

"Good job" Toriel called out, "I didn't actually leave, I was hiding behind this pillar. That was just a test of your independence. I have some errands to run, but don't worry. If you run into any trouble, you can call me on this cell phone" with that, Toriel walked off.

Frisk wasn't sure what to do know that she was alone. Would Toriel take offence if she went off to explore? Were there any dangers that she might end up facing alone. Still, given the opportunity, Frisk remembered why she had come here to begin with. She was scouting this mountain to see where the original inhabitants were and determine whether this was a livable location. Her family didn't have a secure place to stay anymore, and if she could live in this place, it would be a huge relief. Still, she needed to see whether it was safe from outside attacks first. It would be horrible if the current leader of the surface managed to hunt her down to further his power. Quite a few people from so called "tainted" bloodlines had mysteriously gone missing after being captured by his guards, and Frisk didn't want that to happen to her. Determined to learn more about this place, Frisk set off to see what lay before her.

A few easy puzzles later, and Frisk ran into Flowey again. Why would it show up now, just as she had been getting her voice back? How mean. Its words were haunting as ever, this "kill or be killed" mentality that the flower was trying to convert her to was really getting annoying. Avoiding the sunflower by picking up her pace to a sprint, Frisk ran into more inhabitants of this world. A frog-like thing got in her way on one bridge, but it wouldn't leave when Frisk tried pushing it. Testing Wingdings again, Frisk asked the monster to "Get out of my way, hyper". She would have said something nicer, but it was really hard to complement someone in a language used almost exclusively for ordering subordinates around. The frog creature didn't seem to understand what she said, but the next time Frisk gestured, it must have picked up on her annoyance and left regardless. This was easy!

The next annoyance in her path was another monster to. This time it was a ghost, or at least that's what it looked like. Frisk tried to tell it to "Move, lazybones", but it stubbornly wasn't looking at her, giving a poor impression of being asleep. When she touched it, the it gave up the ruse.

"Who are you" It asked.

Frisk didn't know how to answer. Her throat was still clogged, but mouthing her name seemed to work for the ghost.

"I'm Napstablock" the ghost said. It entered a fight, seemingly involuntarily. Upset to be in this situation again, Frisk evened the tables. Even though her soul was out in the fight, now Napstablock's was to. The ghost seemed to panic for a little bit, unsure what had drawn it out like this. "What's going on?" He cried, and Frisk hurried to dodge the tears. Napstablock had no such understanding, and his health points lowered. Getting tired of the panic the ghost was working itself up to, Frisk tried to talk the way that Torie had suggested.

"Calm down" She exclaimed. "You are only hurting yourself. Spare the fight" Thankfully, Wingdings had no shortage of terms to describe what someone might do wrong in a fight, or even things that were vaguely useful in a soul conflict.

"I spare you" the ghost agreed, seeing that it only had a few health points left.

"I chose mercy" Frisk agreed. It seemed that this ghost knew wingdings to.

Having won the conflict, Frisk used her newly won influence to persuade the ghost of something. "Let me pass!"

"You aren't very polite" the ghost commented. "Do you know any language other than Wingdings?"

Frisk just shook her head in no. Napstablock should get that she could understand the human dialect that they were speaking, but Frisk just couldn't speak it.

"That's a pity" Napstablock said. "Wingdings isn't very popular. You have to be pretty high up in society to get a chance to use it, that or have connections. My cousin, Mettron, is friends with the royal scientist, so I know, but not that many people who don't work for the king will understand. You don't want me for a translator, however. Bye" he called, and was gone before Frisk could contradict him.
