The plane shuddered uncomfortably.

Magda did not care for plane travel more or less than any other kind; but it was a stormy night over the sea, the wind too audible for comfort.

Erik held her hand firmly.

"Almost there my dear"

Magda suppressed the urge to pull her hand away.

The longer she spent with Erik, the more she panicked. The hand that held her's so gently had...

It wasn't worth thinking on, she concluded and reclining into her chair she closed her weary eyes.

Countries were rushing under them, millions of people doing millions of tiny things all of significance, even if they did not know it.

Magda felt light with exhaustion, resting her head on Erik's shoulder she relaxed a little, trying as best she could to only think on the present.

The journey from the airport was brisk and quiet, Erik seemed far more tense, Magda placed her hand gently over his as he gripped the steering wheel. Reassuring her with a soft smile, he returned a steely glare to the road ahead, the sound of the rain on the car roof lulled Magda into sleep.

Erik watched the shadows of the rain drip across her face. She was scared, he could feel it, and she had every right to be.

He had done irredeemable things in her eyes.

And yet, she had come with him, out of love? Hope?

The gravel of the drive crunched under wheels as Erik parked the car carefully.

The rain was giving no signs of letting up; Erik contemplated practicalities that had only seemed to occur to him over the course of their drive.

Where would she sleep?

With him? He didn't want her to feel obliged to, but where else was spare?

Should he wake her? Surely it was better to debrief Magda on their living situation, rather than have her wake to a house full of strangers...

Oh God the others.

They wouldn't say anything to her; he garnered enough respect to command the dignity of both himself and his companion. But leaving his men (and women) in the dark hardly made for a good team dynamic, particularly if Magda was to become a semi permanent fixture in their headquarters...

And Raven -

Shit

He sighed wearily and dragged a hand back through his hair.

Erik had a lot of explaining to do, busy talk, and he wasn't the biggest fan that. But if anybody was worth it, it was probably her.

Willing away the tiredness building in him, Erik became upright and resolute; he could explain things in the morning. He pulled the keys from the ignition and shook Magda's shoulder gently. Eyes blinking blearily open, "Home?" She queried, and Erik nodded in response, trying his best attempt at a warm smile, before swinging the car door open and braving the rainy drive.
