Today is the day of halloween.
I remember.
The trick played on my life.
It was not a treat.
To lose my life.
And move on.
From all that I had.
Left behind.

This halloween, I swear.
My heart was ferociously pounding.
I thought for sure.
This was going to be.
The last thing I remember.

On the day of this halloween.
I want to spend family time together.
Whether it be my first breath.
Or my last.

For a moment, this day of halloween.
I held a breadth of joy in my heart.
The first real glimpse of a smile.
That came from my son.
