Lowkey Note: PSST! Anyone that actually is reading my story I have recently kind of moved to story/70577853-my-sao-project-~reader-insertfor a more organized and lenient experience. This is a new chapter and I promised not to abandon so I stay even though I know that possibly no one reads them. But hey a writer can hope, right? Anyway, in regards to my "Leaving",I must make it a point to feel bad to the Fanfiction name. For not following there (Ridiculous and absurdly strict) guidelines. So I am in a way moving so as to not disrespect more than what I've already done. At some point, I plan to erase and take down anything not allowed in the guidelines but for now, I'll let the wound set.

"Link Start!"

Closing my eyes, I can feel my mind becoming instantly immersed as the two words escape my mouth. Looking around at my new surroundings, I realize that I'm enclosed by complete darkness. No longer on the once comfortable futon, I have the weirdest feeling that I'm floating in a deprivation tank or something? Before I have time to truly grasp my position, my view is replaced by a white sight. Tricolored cylinders pass my face asking a million questions a second. I gasp in response, quickly attempting to answer the questions to the best of a Ryotaro's abilities. Not too long after these fast paced questions, the whole thing suddenly comes to a halt. Returning to the white screen from just moments before but now with a little blue icon in the center. "Language select" the rectangular Icon had read, what I thought was going to be a long list of languages ended up being only a few. Clicking the Japanese Colum I'm brought to a whole new screen. Where a computerized voice begins to play in the background.

"Hello! And welcome to Sword Art Online character creates section. Here you will create and customize your avatar. Unlike most Roleplaying games, the choices on how a player chooses do effect the mechanics of the game. Only slightly but still keep that in mind. "

Listening to the familiar voice I make a mental note of her words.

"In the new system's involvement with the Nerve gear, The game is able to get an 87.4% replica of a person's image. So you may stick to one's look or enhance oneself however wished. Things to keep in mind are that Changes have minimal effect on controls, and will be highlighted if customized. If you are satisfied with all said and done say stop. If you wish to continue the tutorial click the continue button."

"Ok, ok, stop!"

I yell abruptly, my tolerance beginning to run thin.

"You have said no, if not select the back button on the left-hand corner after the dialogue. If you require any help through this portion of the setup, just call the name Natsuyo twice for live assistance. Thank you for your time, I hope you enjoy the game! Goodbye."

Not really paying much attention to the last part of the tutorial. I quickly get down to the business of answering the following character create questions before me.

Name: Ryotaro Mitsu

Game Name: Sora

Age: Teen 12-14

Sex: Female

Height: 187 CM (6'2'') (Original: 121 CM (4'9''))

Hair color: Purple (Original: Red)

Skin color: Tan

Eye color: Light purple (original: green)

Weapon of choice: Bow and arrow

Checking to make sure I am happy with my avatar, I quickly skim over the questions one last time. Once satisfied I select the continue button at the bottom of the screen. Anxiously taking a big breath I am presented with a giant blue loading bar, which is the last key to getting into the game. 1%, 2%, 3%, the loading bar begins, just making myself more and more anxious. My eyes suddenly go wide at the realization of the game I'm about to play.

"Oh gosh this is really happening, isn't it? If this is a dream then... Damn, I'm impressed with how vivid it is! Either way, I don't want this moment to end, I deserved it."

As I Rant to myself I remember how hard it was to get to this point. Cleaning the neighbor's room's every other week, selling some of my old video games, and joining Yoga classes with my mom has been really rough. The one that really took my energy was the worst of them all, babysitting, ugh! Someone that does not like kids should not be put in that position. Alas, I was desperate. And in the end, I did raise enough money to get the game. I grin to myself as scents of pride washes over me. Looking back to the loading bar once more it reads 20%, then 21%, now 40%! Catching that it's speeding up I let in a big breath. 'Alright, this is happening! Really happening, I'm about to play SAO! 88%, 98%, 99% best day ever!' I think to myself. Once the bar reads 100% complete. I release a big mouthful of air in excitement. Shouting with glee the big gray screen displays the words "Welcome to Sword Art Online" In big bold letters. The welcome sign begins to fade, and before I know it my body is completely surrounded by tiny blue pixels. All the sudden I'm standing on the rectangle worn stones of the starting city.

"Welcome to Sword Art Online..."

Murmuring the words I immediately look around at the scene before me. An impressive medieval looking city all around me! Feeling as though one has stepped into a fairy tale brought to life, and that sky. The most beautiful clear sky ever seen by human eyes. Taking it all in I lift my hand to move some hair from my face only to stop dead in tracks. Attempting to jump around like a little school girl at the new discovery that I'm in a game. I realize the controls are a little bit different than what of the real word. Only had I taken noticed this 5 seconds before would I not have fallen on my butt with a loud thud. Shuddering in slight "pain" I find myself becoming more excited than before once seeing my legs sprawled on the ground.

"Ugh... I guess I'm not good at these controls quite yet, but hey, look at me!"

Talking to myself in my "Own world voice" I don't seem to take notice to the fact I was sitting in the middle of the starting city. Definitely earning some odd looks from the other players. Before going full blown admiring, I am stopped by a loud voice.

"Hey you Purple hair! Planning on sitting there forever!?"

I look up to see a girl or should I say, lady, hovering over me with a small crooked smirk and stretched out arm. Though she only looked a few years older than me, I knew better not to argue and took her long (S/C) arm in my own light tan one.

"Huh? Oh yeah, sure help is great too, thank you!"

The (H/c) haired girl pulls me up, Instantly I know she's a beta tester. One by the fact that she seems to know her controls well, and two she seems a bit cocky... That, and guessing. Looking up at her face, I am straight away memorized by her unnatural (G/E/C) eyes, and make a note to ask about it later. Opening her smirked mouth she begins to speak.

"Ok Purple get ready for a life lesson. A baby must learn to crawl before it can walk, and a mother must learn a recipe before she can bake the cake correct? The exact scenario only you need to know how to walk before you can jump around... Oh and by the way, that "pain" you felt on your rear just now. Fake. Pain doesn't work here its virtual reality."

"Oh? Right, new that."

I blush bright red at how stupid I must've looked. Being me, however, I quickly brush off the embarrassment like it never happened and continue our conversation. The blush would remain for another 12 minutes like they always did, just openly displaying my feelings.

"Well, whatever. Oh sorry. I'm (Sao Name) what's your name?"

Seeing as our conversation is going so well, I have a sudden burst of random excitement. Not only for finding my first acquaintance but also possibly a beta tester at that. A big smile covers my face ear to ear at the question.

"I'm glad you asked (Sao Name), well if you really want to know my name. It's Ryotaro-!"

Before getting the chance to finish, my mouth is covered by a soft (S/C) hand. No doubt not belonging to my own callused palms. Eyeing up only to look right back down, forgetting I made myself quite tall in character from my real persona.

"Idiot! Not your real name. Your game name!"

The shorter girl now named (Sao name) yells in slight annoyance.

"Alright, Alright, I'm sorry friend? My game name is- Wow what's that the market?! I better start now if I want to get some high-level stuff! Of course, this is just the starting city it shouldn't be too hard. Wait what! I bet you 2484 yen, out of the two girls right there... One of them is a guy! - Ow!"

In between one of my sentences I feel a hard flick on my head. Touching my forehead with both hands I look up to see poor (Sao name) with the most half annoyed half confused look on her face.

"Oh jeez. Was I in my own world again? By that look on your face, I'm going to go with yes. "

Bowing my head in apology, a small smile makes their way to the shorter players pink lips.

"Don't worry about it. It can't be helped. Your new right?"

Scratching my neck with an awkward nod (Sao name) speaks up.

"Only natural. Anyway how about I take you out of this city and teach you how to work your controls?"

"Really?!"

"Yeah, why not. It's not like I have anything better to do."

When we finally arrive at our destination, we stop near a beautiful field just 15 minutes away from the city. A Huge pig like creatures graze the grassy areas of the field, barely making any noise as (Sao Name) begins to speak. But before doing so she looks up above my head as if looking for something.

"Alright Shora here we are! At this very spot! I will teach you how to walk properly, jump properly, and show you how to use your weapon to your beginning skill level!"

Finally taking notice to the faint lisp from the girl's mouth. I have a flash of pain hit me and begin to talk with ought thinking.

"Ryotaro it's Ryotaro... We're not that close yet."

Giving an annoyed and somewhat confused look before starting her speech once again.

"Ok, Ryotaro. Before moving on with our little lesson I'll first need to know what kind of weapon you choose before moving on, and I'll also need to know how much you already know about Sao."

As (Sao name) finishes her last sentence I tell her all of what I know about Sword art online, and what I don't know she fills me in on. Eventually, I know everything I need to know and it's finally time to learn how to fight. Pulling out an outdated bow and arrow, my slightly shorter teacher looks at my weapon surprised.

"Ryotaro why would you pick that?!"

"The question is my friend is why I wouldn't pick a bow!? Isn't he gorgeous I named him...? Cup!"

Beginning to drool at my beautiful weapon the shorter girl only shakes her head before flicking me and beginning to speak once more.

"Whatever Hun, It might be a little harder to train you considering were two different types of fighters. But it can't be helped now so let's just get started shall we?"

Later that evening atop of a stunning cliff outside of the starting city lies the young boy Kirito sitting with a red head teen that looks only a few years older. The man with red hair and a matching bandana suddenly stands up from the fresh virtual green grass. Clearing his throat he speaks.

"I gotta go, but after this, I am Meeting up with some people I know from another game. What do you say? You can friend them, all introduce you, we form a guild stuff like that."

The black haired boy looks at him slightly taken aback by his words, but quickly looks back down at the grass. 'You already have a commitment to _ 'The fourteen-year-old thinks. Noticing his friends tension the tall man shrugs it off.

"Of course, I'm not forcing you to or anything."

Kirito gives a faint smile towards his friend for understanding.

"Thanks, Klein and if you have any other questions call me anytime."

He says standing up with his new friend Klein. Reaching out the two give each other a strongly gripped handshake filled with its own personal touch.

"Sure! I'm counting on you!"
