Thank you guys for your reviews. I loved reading them! Now we begin with the one shots but bare in mind there will still be a plot in there... somewhere. And Ryo guessed correctly, I did get the idea from The Notebook which I do not own.
Disclaimer- I don't own anything apart from character's feelings and actions and any original characters.
Bonnie peered closer at the picture, trying to get a better look, her mouth hanging open in shock. The picture consisted of a young Bonnie sitting on a hospital bed frowning with Caroline and Damon beside her, bright grins marring their faces. The fact that she was in hospital wasn't what caught her attention, what caught her attention was the fact that the only thing she had on was a pair of coconuts over her chest and a grass skirt loosely over her hips.
"Oh that." Although he'd already explained this picture to her over 10 times, he got comfortable as he launched into his story. "This picture was taken on your 25th birthday when we all took a trip to Hawaii."
-.-
"Damon, come on! Caroline and Tyler are out front!" Bonnie yelled, tapping her foot impatiently as she checked her watch for the tenth time. Elena and Stefan had already texted saying that they were almost at the airport. "Forget it; I'll meet you in the car." She turned to leave but was stopped when she felt a breeze and found Damon directly in front of her. No matter how many times he did it she never got used to it.
"Do we have to go? I mean we could always just stay here," he reached out and sensually rubbed her arms, smirking when he felt the goose bumps he'd created. "Just the two of us. You know, celebrating your birthday our way." He did the squinty eye thing that other people claimed look creepy but to Bonnie it was sexy.
"Damon, we can't. I...I promised Caro and Lena that I'd spend my birthday with them. It's going to be fun, come on." Damon sighed but didn't let go of her. "Please." She reached up and cupped his face, tenderly stroking his cheek. "I'll make it worth your while." At those words, not only did Damon's eyes darken but he quickly grabbed both of their bags and sped out front towards the car, yelling at her to hurry up.
The sooner they got there the better.
As soon as Bonnie strapped herself in, Tyler sped off headed for the airport, where they'd meet Stefan and Elena and head to Cabo. "This is going to be your best birthday ever, Bon! We're going to have so much fun." Caroline squealed as Damon rolled his eyes and Bonnie just chuckled.
-.-
"Why does it take you so long to get ready? We're just going to dinner." Bonnie applied some more lip gloss before smiling at her reflection. She had to admit, she looked quite hot tonight. Her smile faded and was quickly replaced with a frown. "What's that?" she raised an eyebrow at Damon's choice of clothing.
"What's what?" he asked casually, pushing her away from the mirror and admiring him.
"That piece of cloth you're wearing." Her tone stated that she didn't like it and Damon smirked.
"You don't like it?" He posed in the bright shirt and turned, letting Bonnie see the tropical patterns that were on the back. "I think it's hot."
Bonnie blinked. Speechless.
Hot was the last word she'd use to describe that shirt. She could swear her eyes were starting to hurt from exposure to such brightness. "Damon, seriously, go change and let's go, we're going to miss the little show they do every 2 hours."
"Change? Oh Bonnie Boo, I'm not changing. I'm going like this. Let's go." The scowl she sent him let him know that she wasn't playing around when she told him to go change.
"Damon, go change."
"I'm not going to change. I'm going like this!"
"Damon, you know I hate resorting to using my powers but if you do not go and change, that shirt-." She was cut off by Damon raising his hands and sighing.
"Alright, fine. I'll go change. On one condition." She gave him a look to continue. "You owe me one."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, just go change, we're late." She blinked once and he was standing in front of her in a new outfit. One that judging by the way Bonnie's eyes glazed over the length of his body, she approved of. She was about to comment when he pulled her flush against him, his hands travelling down to lightly squeeze her round butt. "Damon..." she warned, every single protest dying on her lips as he started to slowly kiss her neck.
"We can be a little late. I'll be quick. You know I will." Keeping his grip on her, he moved them until they were against the wall. As soon as a quiet moan escaped Bonnie's lips, he knew that was her way of giving him the green light.
"No time for that, kids! Let's get going!" Caroline yelled, knocking on their door. Damon silently cursed and moved back when Bonnie softly pushed him away.
"Have I ever told you how much I hate her?" he murmured, running a hand through his hair and leading Bonnie to the door. Caroline and he would never get along, that was one thing that would never change. She was just like an annoying two year old who never goes away. And since he planned on being with Bonnie forever, Caroline would be his annoying two year old for the rest of his life.
Great...
"You'll learn to get along, babe. You're actually more alike than you think." She grinned at the look of horror on Damon's face as they stepped out of their room.
"That's impossible."
"Didn't anyone ever tell you that nothing's impossible?" she stated, looping her arm through his and sighing in content at the security being with Damon brought her.
"You ever try slamming a revolving door?"
-.-
"Oh, Bonnie you look great!" Elena squealed, clasping her hands together and leaning further into Stefan, if it was even possible. Caroline erupted into a fit of laughter and Tyler had to cover his mouth to contain his chuckles. Stefan bit his bottom lip as he too was trying to stop himself from bursting out and laughing. Damon seemed to be the only one who was not ashamed to full out laugh at her in front of her face. He clapped his hands as his laughs got louder.
"You... You... Oh Bonnie Boo, you look gorgeous!" The scowl Bonnie sent him would usually immediately send him into silence but this time he couldn't help himself but continue laughing. She just looked so damn cute in the little coconut bra and grass skirt. He was glad he 'accidentally' spilled his meal over her. Bonnie being Bonnie had first taken a finger and swiped it across her dress before licking her finger. After that, she'd complained about having to go change and sent Damon the sharpest glare when he asked one of the dancers if they had any spare outfits. Their answer being yes.
He'd reminded her that she owed him so every protest she had died on her lips before she stalked away to go change.
"I hate you." She seethed through gritted teeth, pushing everyone back and returning to her seat. Damon draped an arm around her and pulled her closer.
"Aw, I love you too, BB." He kissed her cheek, smirking when she swatted his hand away.
"You look nice, Bonnie." Tyler offered, after he'd calmed Caroline down. She burst into another fit of giggles again at Tyler's comment however, shortly after; she suddenly yelped in pain and grabbed her head.
"Woops." Said Bonnie, her voice dripping with sarcasm. They fell back into casual conversation as the loud music pumped behind them. Every so often, Bonnie would adjust the coconuts and the skirt. Which was weird because she never felt self conscious but the way Damon's eyes kept roaming over her body, it made her feel conscious.
"Ah, when's this cake coming out?"
Caroline... Always the patient one.
Bonnie was about to speak when she felt a tickle at the back of her throat. Even after she cleared it, the tickling became stronger and it suddenly felt like her face was extremely itchy. "You alright, Bon?" Stefan questioned, as her scratching turned violent. At this point, all eyes on their table were on her. The looks everyone was giving her made her even more self-conscious.
"Wh-what? Is there something wrong?" she asked, panicking and clawing away at her neck and cheeks.
Her response was silence.
...Until Damon's loud cackles pierced the air.
"Damon! Stop laughing, this isn't funny!" Elena scolded, slapping his arm. That didn't make him stop though. In fact, it only made him laugh harder.
"On the contrary, Elena, it is. It seems as if my Bon-sicle consumed some mushrooms." Everyone's eyes went even wider and Bonnie paled. Tyler was the only one whose eyebrows furrowed together. "She's allergic to the stuff, mutt." Tyler nodded in realisation, watching on as Bonnie grabbed at her throat, still coughing, trying to clear it.
"Oh my gosh, no! Wh-what did I eat? I didn't order anything with mushrooms." She exclaimed, suddenly realising that she could only slightly see through one eye. It was as if she was squinting. "Mirror! Someone get me a mirror!" Caroline quickly handed her her compact mirror, dreading the moment Bonnie finally looked at herself.
You would never imagine Bonnie to be the kind of girl to swear but the first word that came out of her mouth was: "FUUUUUUUUCK!" causing all the other people at the outdoor restaurant to turn and scowl at her. That didn't exactly help her mood. "What? What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen anyone with a swollen eye and hives before? It's an allergic reaction, you cunts! Look the fuck away!"
Damon's eyebrow wasn't the only thing of his that went up.
He always did that Bonnie was that extra bit sexier when she was mad. "What did I eat? I ordered the friggin' chicken wing platter! No mushrooms there!" No one answered as they thought back to how she could've got the allergic reaction. "Oh shit. I can... I can feel my tongue swelling up."
"Oh, I know how you got it!" everyone turned to Damon, waiting for his answer. "I had mushroom risotto and when I spilled it over you; you had a taste of it. Kind of your own fault, Bon. Man, maybe this vacation is looking up cos this," he reached for her chin, pulling on it to reveal her swelling tongue and chuckled. "This is Hilarious." He casually took a sip of his mojito, frowning at the weak taste but downing it anyway.
"This is mop thunny, Bamon!" She pouted at how her attempt to say 'this is not funny, Damon' came out. Elena immediately got up and went round to Bonnie, reaching to bite into her own wrist to try and help Bonnie.
"Vampire blood doesn't work on allergies. Bon Bon's just going to have to stick it out. You'll be fine, my little trooper!" he playfully nudged her in the side.
"I hache you."
"I hache you too, babe. Whatever that is." He chuckled to himself before calling the waiter over to order another drink.
"Guys, why are we just sitting here, she needs to go to the hospital! Come on. Damon pick her up, Lena, get her stuff, Stefan and Ty get her in the car and take her to the nearest hospital, Lena and I will meet you there. Come on people! Hurry up!" Damon rolled his eyes and gently lifted Bonnie as if she weighed nothing, laughing when he got a closer look at how both eyes were now swelling up and her tongue had fully swelled.
It took approximately half an hour to get to the hospital because they had to stop and ask for directions. Once they'd arrived Bonnie had been taken to A&E to get her adrenaline shot after they'd made sure her airways were clear.
"Damon what are you doing?" Bonnie asked drowsily, as she saw Damon, Tyler and Caroline approaching her bed, Tyler holding a camera.
"Just smile for the camera, babe."
"Say 'mushrooms'!" Damon and Caroline grinned widely as Bonnie frowned, looking confused as Tyler snapped the shot.
-.-
"That sounds... nice?" Bonnie laughed, pushing her hair back as Damon flipped to the next page.
"You were so drowsy off the stuff they gave you; you were talking all kinds of nonsense."
"Sorry I can't remember." She shuffled closer towards Damon, a familiar sense of security washing through her. "Tell me another story."
He couldn't help but smile and feel his undead heart flutter when she moved closer. "Of course, Bon-sicle."
This time I've left the next one shot open so that you guys can give me any requests if you want. Please remember that I changed the last chapter from Bonnie being on crutches to her just being in the hospital.
