Hi, everyone!

So, I saw your reviews, wanting to know what comes next... Well, here it is.

The sentences followed by a * or several * are translated at the bottom of the chapter.

Good reading.

Enjoy!

"Lass mich nicht, meine Liebe!"*

No. No. It was not going to be that way. He was not going to let that girl blow up everything he had worked for in the last months and years. He didn't even look at her more than that. He was at the door when she cried out at him again.

"Komm zurück, Grant!"**

"Ich bin nicht Ihre Liebe. Ich war noch nie. Jetzt hör auf mich so zu nennen."***

He walked further before stopping and coming back on his tracks. She looked expectantly at him, with hope and love in her eyes. He snorted.

"Und halt die Klappe um Gottes Willen!"****

He glared at her and she honestly looked like she was going to burst into tears. Sighing, he walked away rapidly. She fell back on the bed. Fortunately for them, there had been no one in the med ward. She did burst into tears but it was silently, face buried in the pillow, once she was sure he was far away.

She calmed down almost immediately when she heard somebody coming. She wouldn't show any weakness this time. She was going to put to practice everything she had learned.

"Oh. Somebody's awake here."

She looked at the young woman who had just come in. She walked around the room with ease, slaloming between the monitors and other devices. Her hands were hidden underneath gloves. She looked every bit the scientist and the pale girl almost sighed in relief. That was the type of persons she was more at ease around.

"Yes…"

She switched back to English, her accent flawless. It had just been the panic. Why had she been captured in the first place? She sighed and turned a little.

"My name is Agent Simmons. I'm the one taking care of you even if I'm not an actual doctor in medicine but they always think I am. Even Fitz. Oh, this is annoying."

"Ok."

The woman smiled kindly. She thought she was inoffensive. She thought she was nothing more than a lost girl. But she was way more than that.

"We'll have you transferred back into a cell soon. Sorry, but you're still a prisoner. Until we find out that you're not responsible of any of this mess in Hydra. Which is going to come soon."

She nodded. That woman definitely talked a lot. That wasn't very lady-like of her to do. Women had to keep their mouth shut.

"What's your name by the way?"

"Adele."

"That's a pretty name."

"Maybe."

A very strange and new name. Pretty maybe. She didn't really know. Not really. She sat on the bed. Nothing was turning. She was ok. Of course she was. She was tougher than that.

Ward punched the punching ball. What did that have to happen now? Everything was going so well! He was trusted by everybody, in a relationship with Skye. And that… that girl who believed he was in love with her. That was crazy. He got angrier at the leather. The straps of protection on his fists didn't work that well. He had put them on too loosely anyway.

"I'm going to imagine you're cheating on me with your punching bag, Grant Ward."

She was there. She was standing, her elbows on the railing, looking at him with her smug face and her teasing eyes. She walked slowly down the stairs, so he could watch her every movement unfold. He sighed. That girl was the second reason he was going crazy these days.

"Sorry."

She smiled. Skye was always so joyful. Like a ray of sunshine. He needed sunshine in his dark life. He wondered how betrayal would look on her beautiful face when she learned who he really was. No, he shouldn't think about that. This wasn't going to happen soon. Adele wouldn't talk. If she did... Nobody would believe her. And she would find her end soon after.

"Did you recognize her?"

He nodded. He didn't know what was her cover name. He would pretend having forgotten it, until hearing it from her. He was not an amateur. Now he hoped they had trained her enough for interrogation and that she wouldn't give everything away at the first try. Skye was surely the one who would start, as she was the most compassionate of them. He hoped they would ask him to make her talk. It was the better way not to have any of Hydra's secrets spilled. Even if he hated being in her presence.

Skye was manoeuvring his hands from the bag to her hips, and trying to make it look like he had done it. She was so cute.

"Don't worry about Hydra."

"I'm not worrying."

He muttered. She looked at him, disbelieving. He sighed and pushed her playfully. With a cry of surprise and discontent, she fell on her back on the mat of the gym.

"You look super cute from down there, boyfriend. Come join me."

He laughed and lied down next to her. Fitz made a smart-ass remark that made Skye blush and stutter. He relaxed. It was going to go well. It had to. And nobody would be armed.

The girl was taken to a room. Little, dark, in the center of whatever building they were in. The scientist woman left her there.

So she had been taken by SHIELD. It was the fate. God had decided to reunite her with the man she was meant to be with. With Grant.

She sat on the chair in the center of the room. She was prisoner. She only wished for him to come and get her. But he was still rebellious. He had to cease his blind acts. Nobody in Hydra closed their eyes on disobedience. The consequences were... She shivered. Painful. Or deadly. She pushed back the memory far away, in the pained and darkened corner of her mind. Its shadows extended on the near whole of her being.

She heard the door opening and closing, somebody was inside now. It was another woman. She was pretty, if you liked half-breeds. Not half-breeds. There was another term... She didn't find it.

"Adele?"

"Yes."

"My name is Skye."

She nodded. She didn't actually care about the name of that girl. She cared about resisting to their interrogation techniques. She had learned that they were very persuasive. But she had trained with Hydra and Ward. She could handle anything.

"I'm going to ask you a few questions."

"Go ahead."

She kept her voice low and kind, head bowed down respectfully and eyes fixed submittingly on her hands.

"What's your full name?"

"Adele Cassidy Banks."

"How old are you?"

"24."

"Date and place of birth?"

"February 4, 1991, Atlanta, Georgia"

While they talked, Fitz was entering the infos in SHIELD databases. He found a profile. He immediately transferred it to Skye and to Coulson.

"You went missing? Five years ago?"

"I ran away. I couldn't stand it anymore. And They found me."

"Hydra?"

"Hydra."

Ward was watching the interrogation. There was something off with Adele. She looked tensed and almost afraid. He remembered having to make her talk once. But he now guessed they had inflicted the majority of interrogation techniques on her. And tales of the cruelty of SHIELD had been whispered in her sleep.

He almost felt sorry for her. Almost.

It went on and on, she sticked to her cover story. It was the only thing she did properly. She wasn't a bad liar, he guessed that after the fifth or so wiping, you forgot what was the truth and started believing the lie. He didn't know how many times they had done that to her. He had seen it once. It was maybe the first or the second time they did it. And he hadn't want to see it again.

"Agent Grant Ward went to see you this morning, is that correct?"

"Yes."

"Did you recognize him?"

"His face wasn't unfamiliar."

Nice trick. She was not bad. Definitely not bad. But Skye's interrogations were nothing. Ward waited to see her with someone else. He just hoped it would be him. The interview was quickly over when it became blatant that the girl didn't have any intel to give like that. Skye went out.

"Poor girl."

He heard her mutter. He snorted. Poor girl, his ass. She wasn't a poor girl. She was a crazy brainwashed freak from Hydra, who firmly believed he was hers, when he had told everyone he wasn't hers, and would never be. He only loved one girl, the one who was just out of interrogation room with her bangs and her smile and her easy laugh, her dark hair, and almond-shaped chocolate eyes. Not the one with the straight, severe haircut, the thin lips which could only get thinner, the teary look, the platinum hair and the too wide grey-blue eyes.

Soon after agent Skye had come out, Adele heard the door sealing. They were locking her in. She sighed. And agents were actually supposed to protect her. Where were they now? With their smart-ass comments on her uselessness. They were surely dead or being wiped.Take a deep breath. And clear your mind. She bit her lip. She shouldn't think about it. It could trigger anything, and she didn't want to be weak in front of enemies, and even more in front of him. You know what is best.

He didn't seem to understand her. He didn't seem to want to comply. But he had to. He had to comply or it would be the end.

Take a deep breath. And clear your mind. Surrender and you will find meaning. Surrender and you will find know what is best. What is best is you comply. Calm your know what is best. What is best is you comply. Compliance will be rewarded. Are you ready to comply?

"I'm happy to comply."

She whispered between short breaths, the triggering speech carved deep into her mind. Out of the darkness. Into the light. She should stay quiet and not think about it. She would be weakened. She should stay strong to do her duty. She should stay strong or she would fail Hydra. Hail Hydra.

"I'm happy to comply."

* Don't leave me, my love.

** Come back, Grant.

*** I'm not your love. I never was. Now stop calling me that way.

**** And keep your mouth shut, for God's sake.
