Bruce definitely did not expect to find solace in the lonely little boy with a lightning bolt scar on the swing set, who's green eyes shone with something son painfully familiar to him; loneliness. This nameless little boy was alone in the world, he had been abandoned. Enter Benjamin Wayne, the son of Batman; known to the superhero community as Phoenix.

TIME-LINE JOT NOTES/PLANS;

Enter! Benjamin Wayne: (Gotham, November 2, 2000) Bruce Wayne finds an abandoned little boy about 5yrs old in a park, who says that "Sir and Ma'am said to wait.", looking at the bruises on the boy's face, over-large ratty clothes, and much too small frame, Bruce knows what was happening; child abuse/child abandonment.

Asks what the boy's name is (to track down whoever abandoned him in the first place) and the boy answers "Freaks don't deserve names."

Bruce takes him home with him, gets Alfred to look him over, and he becomes Benjamin Thomas Wayne, or just Ben, within the month.

(Gotham, December 30, 2003) Benjamin Wayne is kidnapped by Joker during Bruce's annual Christmas Gala, and is rescued before Joker manages to get too far, by Batman and Green Arrow, Ben figures out who Batman is under the mask and Bruce decides Ben needs to be trained to defend himself.

The Tragedy of the Flying Graysons: (Gotham, April 1, 2006) Bruce takes Ben to Haly's Circus when it comes to town. Sees the death of the Graysons, and how the youngest is made an orphan.

Later Batman arrives at the scene to investigate and finds out the death was planned murder. Finds out the only survivor, Richard John Grayson

(Gotham, July 2, 2006) Bruce tracks down the last Grayson, to find that he had been subjected to a racist social worker who stuffed the 8yr old in juvie instead of finding a foster home or orphanage; makes him his ward.

(Gotham, July 5, 2006) During one of Batman's patrols, Ben wakes up hearing screaming - finds Dick having a nightmare, calms him down and crawls into bed with him.
