My niece's name is Mary. Apparently my little sister had named her after me. Anyway, Mary is really old now. Like, 66 years old. We were able to talk to her granddaughter, Elizabeth, a while ago. It's true, they still live in Biloxi. And right now, we're going to talk to Mary about what she knows about Mary Alice Brandon.

"Yes. I remember my mother told me that I had an aunt named Alice. Sadly, she was sent to an asylum so I never met her. One day, she just disappeared." It would have been nice to see, I thought. "Why was she sent to an asylum?" Dear Lord, I really wish she knows the answer to that question. Mary looked serious. "My mother said that Aunt Alice had a special mental illness. Like she was wierd or insane, maybe even both." Yup, many people do think I'm wierd. "Even when she was young, she had these...strange abilities. She says she sees things but there isn't anything there." What? I saw things? "After sometime, since grandma was the only one who was taking care of them and their father was away being a jeweler and all, grandma thought that Aunt Alice needed help, the kind of help that mental asylums could provide. It was hard for her to do this but she was convinced that it was for the good of all."

I didn't know what to say, what I SHOULD say. Jasper was looking at me now and I know that he can feel my mixed feelings. "Why do you need to ask about these things? About Alice Brandon?"Elizabeth asked. "It's nothing important. We were just curious, you see, she was a friend of our relative." Jasper answered. I was still unable to speak. "Hey, I think I have an old photo of her. I'll just-" Oh no. "We'd better get going. Thank you for the information." God knows what could have happened if they saw that the picture of their old dead relative looked exactly like me.
