Crystal of Fantasia X RWBY
Chapter Two
"Haa!" Ruby sliced a Grimm with her scythe.
"Here we go!" Dalia swung the right handle of her weapon so that the spinner would pierce through another Grimm.
"What do you think Professor?" Goodwitch watched the girls' fight.
"It's interesting; the one there, miss Fayola, she shows potential," Ozpin said. "Whoever she is, she knows what she's doing."
Dalia and Ruby continued to practice; it wasn't until the two were separated that they had some trouble. Dalia found herself surrounded by the Grimm and had to resort to more than her weapon to take them down. She pulled on her spinners to make them recoil and set them on her back; she had one technique that she could use if she was in a situation like that. She stood up straight and put her hands together like she was praying. A purple energy gathered around her and when she was ready, she released it. The energy spread across the field and turned the Grimm around her into crystal. She then waved her hand and the crystals shattered; a stunning performance from her point of view. The one thing that was on her mind, was what the others thought of such power.
She continued to fight, and the more she did, the more she remembered something, something that was told to her before she left on her adventure. "Be careful of what you show others, that power of yours is much different than anything from either ours or their world." She kept that in mind and used her weapon more than her power. What was it that they meant? What power did they mean? She couldn't remember; ever since she came to Remnant, she couldn't remember much of anything. At first it wasn't a problem, then it suddenly did when she kept thinking.
She found herself focused too much on her own problems, that she forgot about the Grimm she was supposed to be fighting. One came behind her and was about to attack; it would have done a substantial amount of damage if Ruby hadn't interfered and saved her. The girl was a bit worried about Dalia's spacing out, but it wasn't the time to ask any questions. It was a training session after all. There was no room for idle chit chat then. The two finished off their objective and returned to the school grounds.
"I'm impressed" Ozpin asked her to come to his office to talk.
"Is that your semblance? To create crystals around you?" Goodwitch asked, she showed a video on her scroll of Dalia using the power. She had recorded the events of the battle and was curious how the power worked. Dalia couldn't explain how it worked exactly; that was the one problem about her powers, she didn't know how they worked or how she could use them in the world she was in.
"Something like that" Dalia responded. She had never seen a scroll before and chose to ask about it at a different time; the focus was her power. A "semblance" as they called it. A special power that certain individuals had, or a family had; each semblance was different, like the spells of Dalia's world.
"I've seen your potential as a huntress on the battlefield but let me ask you." Ozpin began, "where do you come from?"
How could she answer that? She couldn't exactly say she was from another world, that would raise more questions and perhaps would lead to them questioning in who she was. So, she lied, "I come from a place that requires practice and training to survive." The only thought that came to mind for both Ozpin and Goodwitch was outside the kingdom borders, and that was the easiest way out of a long discussion, so she let them to come to that conclusion.
Ozpin excused Dalia; before she completely left the room, she heard him say something about "a special event" that was happening. She didn't know what he meant, or had time to ask him, so continued back to the room she stayed in.
"Can I ask you something?" Blake said, she was reading her book in her lap and looked up for a second.
"Sure" Dalia sat next to her. She had just returned to the room and was already getting questions from Ruby's teammates.
"Your semblance, it was those crystals, right? How do they work?"
"Well, it would be better if I showed you than explain it."
Dalia grabbed a pillow from her bed; she waved her hand over it and small crystals formed on top. She moved her hand in a circular motion and the crystals made a curved pillar. She then snapped her fingers and the crystals melted away until there was nothing left of them. She had complete control over them and could command them to do anything. She took out her hair tie and threw it in the air; she blasted it with a purple energy, the hair tie was completely engulfed by the crystals. She picked up the hair tie and melted the crystals to put her hair back up.
"That's so COOL!" Ruby almost screamed in excitement.
"I've never seen a semblance like this before" Blake said.
"How does it work with dust?" Weiss asked.
"Dust?" Dalia asked and received interesting reactions from the other girls. They looked like she had said something stupid or asked a question with an obvious answer; which was probably the case.
"This is dust" Weiss held a vial of light blue dust. She handed it Dalia, "try it out when you get the chance."
Dalia held the vial up to the light, it looked just like regular dust. According to Weiss, this kind of dust had powers over elements and could go along with semblances. Such as her glyphs and Ruby's gun. Dalia opened it up and poured a bit in her hand; it wouldn't hurt to try it out with a small amount. She used her power to fuse it with the dust. She was surprised to see that the dust changed the features of the crystals, they were cold and gave off a mist like dry ice would. Ruby went to touch it and she pulled her hand back immediately after coming into contact.
"It's so cold it burns!" She shook her hand.
"It looks like the crystals are taking the properties of the dust." Weiss analyzed.
If that was what she could do with ice, then what would happen with the other elements? Dalia asked Weiss if she could try out more when they were on the battle field; Weiss soon agreed after Ruby gave her puppy eyes.
When she did fall asleep, Dalia could hear something; voices, voices that she recognized. The scene soon changed to a fire that surrounded her; she didn't know what was happening, sure, it was just a dream, but there was something so real about it. When she thought about it more, she saw through the fire, and suddenly, it all stopped.
"Hey, are you awake? We're going too be late" one voice told her; it was female, a young girl perhaps.
"Is-is it already time to go? Al-alright…I'll go get ready…" that was one was male; a young one definitely. He sounded shy and maybe a bit timid.
"Yeah! Vale's got it! Let's go!" Another male voice, this time, it was older.
Who were they? Their voices were so familiar, yet, she couldn't remember who they were. They were friends, that's all she could remember, they were people who went with her to Remnant, and hopefully, they could help her remember what she was doing there. Then, something came out of the darkness, a monster, nothing like she had seen before. That is what she was following; she was there to exterminate that.
She awoke in almost a heated panic; she could feel her heart beating faster than before. Was it fear? Anger? She didn't know, all she knew, was that something was going on, and she would figure it out.
Dalia kept quiet during breakfast, she didn't want to bother anyone nor paid any attention to what they were saying. She just couldn't stop thinking. It wasn't until she was hit by a small object that she attention turned to the ones around her.
"You okay?" Yang held her fork up; she must have been the one who did it. "You've been distant all morning."
Dalia didn't respond at first, she was too distracted. It was when the others showed some concern that she spoke up. She told them about the dream she had, about what she was thinking; it could have been just that, a dream, and they probably wouldn't understand if she told them where she came from anyways. They didn't ask her any questions, well, Weiss and Blake stayed quiet, it was Yang and Ruby who were the most intrigued. They wanted to know everything. Yang seemed like she wanted to know for more "informational" reasons while Ruby was just excited to start with. Both had questions, and neither got much from Dalia. Perhaps it was a combination of secrets and not knowing the answer. Either way, their conversation was interrupted.
Someone was seen from the distance; it was a girl, she was much shorter than the ones around her and looked like she was in a rush. At first Dalia didn't recognize the girl, then it hit her. "Oh shoot" was what she said. She stood up and realized she was in big trouble.
"Who is that?" Ruby watched as the new girl fight her way through the crowd.
"Dalia!" The voice was familiar.
"Gabriella!" Dalia was shocked to her friend there. Gabriella had light brown hair, green eyes; wore a feather hairpin on the left side of her head, and a yellowish and gold dress with matching boots.
"You're a big dummy! You just up and left us! Lias and Vale are going to tear you apart!"
"Those your other teammates?" Yang asked.
In a way they were; they travelled the world together and fought with each other since the beginning.
"And who are you?" Gabriella leaned to the right to see Ruby's team.
Dalia explained their situation; the whole time Gabriella looked like she had predicted the events leading up to them meeting. "That's just like you," is what she said afterwards. Gabriella was both upset and relieved. She thought something bad happened to her teammate and that's why Dalia didn't return; she was relieved to know it was just an incident and her partner was alright. Gabriella explained that they were on a mission; what it was she kept secret, but continued anyways. She told the four that they're from a place known as "Hyland", and came to Vale to do some investigating and exterminating. There were monsters that were from Hyland that came to Vale, and that was all she said. There was more, of course, and Dalia kept on the look that she knew exactly what her partner was talking about. Ruby, as the leader of her team, offered to help them; although hesitant, Dalia allowed them to do so.
(Sorry I haven't been able to get this as soon as I wanted to, I've been sick and catching up on other things. I'll try to stay up to date with this and try to release one or two chapters a month if I can. I do have my main series that can be found on my DA and Wattpad, which I'm more frequent on updating. Again, sorry for the late update, I'll try my best to keep it going.)
